  • I take my Vans RV9 and do 9 laps in the pattern. Short approaches, landing behind the power curve, forward slips, and some 2k ft per minute climb rates! Thanks again for watching the channel!!

    That was a great video. I liked how to had your flight track sync'ed up to end when you touched down at the end.

    So 500 Crosswind turn to downwind 800 then 1000 shortly after downwind? So if the tower doesn’t offer the landing clearance on downwind that was so cool that you asked for it is that standard?

    Is the Wind 5kts from the east?

    Pete do you normally turn base at 700 and final at 500? Or 400?

    • @svtpete83
      @svtpete83  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually between the two. Depends on the wind direction and strength

    did you practice soft field take off 5:06 ?

    • @svtpete83
      @svtpete83  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The animation was pre made on the software I use. Powerdirector365.

      And almost every landing and takeoff I treat like a soft field. Just trying to protect that nose gear! Thanks again for watching!

      @@svtpete83 As you should, in any RV nose dragger. Same thing for me in my RV-12... 25 kts and get that front wheel off of the tarmac when taking off.

    Do you seats extend forward or are they fixed?

    • @svtpete83
      @svtpete83  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the almost 14 mod. They do extend forward with a spacer that pivots on the back of the seat and slides into a slot on the rear crossbar.

    Pete I plan on getting an AOA gauge to help with the “behind the power curve stuff” Thoughts?

    loving the videos. What do you think about the GRT Avionics?

    • @svtpete83
      @svtpete83  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love the GRT stuff. It seems to play well with other companies stuff and is extremely reliable. Once you learn the buttonology it’s very user friendly. I’ll have more videos on how to do different things in the future.

    So Pete between 12&15 degrees in the RV9 to climb at 90kts?

    • @svtpete83
      @svtpete83  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the weight of the plane and how hard you want to push it. On that day I was really light with only 15 gallons of gas in the bird so it was climbing like crazy! Most days I climb out at 110 knots, full weight about 900fpm.
