I will spend 30mins setting up the party for a 5min fight it's true, and the B team setup for Astarion, Laezel and Karlach is similarly arduous. Aid is the most OP spell at level 5 it gives all party members a permanent 20hp, once I get my summons all lined up I hit them with Aid. Astarion joins the party briefly and spams his longstrider ritual to all party members and summons, including Wyll before letting him rejoin. Astarion also casts bardic inspiration on all the main player characters before being swapped out for Wyll. In the B team setup I get shadowheart in to cast aid on all summons and party members as before, then switching out for karlach who just has summon Us, wyll has quothe the raven, and astarion has a cat familiar, permanent mage hand, and a ranger companion wolf. Tav always has the 10 strong horde as seen in the video. The dryad summon is great because the spike growth cantrip can be constantly recast and is great terrain damage over time for most mobs, coupled with wall of fire and similar area spells most mobs die before even touching the party. Humanoids without jump or misty step are wiped out quickly. My main strat is attrition, the more players on the board the more chances I have of hits on target per round, not the most powerful strategy but I can also keep enemies occupied with pawns while the main characters pick them off.
oh yeah and shadowheart has the enchanted item that grants bless when you heal, so when you use that with her mass healing word lv3 spell as a bonus action you get cast bless on all + heal all party members as a bonus action which is pretty nice. Lots of cheesy strats like this I use all the time.
This is like playing Skyrim while exploiting the potion/enchant system. Sure you can do this to win a fight in seconds, but where is the challenge in that? Also like others have said, who uses a controller for BG3?
Firstly this arguably extends the setup time and round time in battle so not really winning a fight in seconds and isn't as ideal as just minmaxxing your mains, and um... console players?!
What sort of sadist applies that many buffs using a controller 💀
