I'm actually glad I found this because I want to get into FiveM deving but dont have the money to or time to work on an actual purchased server. This will hopefully help me learn a lot! I will post another comment if I have any issues.

for those who are struggling with the right ip, i did too
in the live console it will tell you what ip is required so change it to that then regenerate the key and put the new key in the cfg editor, save file, then restart
the ip was accepted! you were absolutely right.. but keep running into this issue.. Error getting processes data. did you?

Since this is easy to understand but a little bit of work i have some questions before i dive in:
can i use mods that work in singleplayer?
i want to use the quadcoptermod and fly drones while my friends drive or shoot at each other and film some cool stuff, is setting up a server the right way to do it?
You need to use FiveM ready mods. Not single player ones or it won't work. I appreciate you commenting!

And it was working fine until I installed vmenu. I then removed vmenu and it is still broken.

Great video thanks made it really easy setup . Quick question is there a way to get missions going for coop stuff. I can get my friends on but as of now it’s just a sandbox . My first time messing with GTA servers didn’t even know it was possible until this week haha
You'd have to add scripts to the server.

It is completely free, RocketNode is an optional easy alternative, but I highly recommend it for communities.

everytime i download the latest optional it saves the file as a chrome icon and doesnt do anything for me.. any idea how to get it to not show up as a chrome icon?

Update. I managed to properly install my server. It is however really easy to mess up the proccess if not 100% focused on the proccess. But it is really easy when you figure it out.

I don't get it, is that mean I will be hosting the server from my PC? aka I need static IP DDOS protection, or is that from another website hosting?
doing it following tutorial you'd be home hosting and need to open ports on your network. I'd use a host like I state in the beginning as it will offer DDOS Protection, and static IPs.
Each time I try to open up the lastest optional file it always opens up in my notepad and it’s just a bunch of symbols do you know what I’m supposed to open it with in order to copy and paste everything into the FXServer?

Every time I try to download the newest update {last optional} it wont let me open the file up, when u download the newest update when u open the file is it suppose to be in the bottom or on the right corner of Ur monitor or is it different for everyone?
Make sure you have Winrar.

Make sure the port for txAdmin is allocated properly.
How do I put my server on the 5m search menu instead of me having to press f8 then my connect code ?
Set the sets sv_projectName in sever.cfg
every time i type the licese key in it says i dont have a database installed do u have a video on how to install a database?
For the database all you have to do is download XAMPP.
Do you know anything about Yarn not installing and giving a 30 second timeout? I've read forums on stack overflow, but I have no idea where to change the timeout in the files.

@@CyberGreen the server starts up, but gets held up when installing yarn. From what I get it’s a package handler from what I read. When installing the packages for it. It throws an error saying no connection and gives a timeout of 30 seconds. Also from stack overflow this is supposed to happen, But people change the file to set the timeout to 5 minutes and have success in installing the packages.

Do you do the same thing if you buy VPS Hosting instead?
It is very similiar I actually have a video exactly how to do this on VPS.
For me it says { Failed to check or create 'C:/txData' with error: EPERM: operation not permitted, mkdir 'C:/txData'
change directory.
When I open FiveM, the icon flashes and it just stays on white screen. Does not start. I did all the steps, from both older video and this one.

Make sure your using localhost if its not portforwarded.

So when I click latest optional it downloads like a note, when I open it it takes me to Microsoft store? Not sure what I’m doing wrong
You have "download from Microsoft store only" enabled. You need to disable it or change it to "ask your permission to download".

So does this mean the server is hosted from my PC and does that mean it has to use my internet connection for it to stay online for other people to connect to and my PC has to be switched on at all times otherwise the server goes offline for everyone? Confused.
Well I dunno all this stuff but it seems to me, yes on your PC to try it out with a few friends but if you want it to go public it'd be better to hire a server like from RocketNode as he says in the info under the video. I'd guess once you have hired a server you get a link to it and can install your software on it then. Just guesses. I have no clue.
