  • This is the last part in the 2 part series of video/ how to guides about operation of the Vaillant SensoCOMFORT.
This video covers features and setting not previously discussed on this channel
*adjusting the system without fully understanding it may cause adverse effects such as increased running costs or damage to the system. If in doubt always refer to the user manual or seek expert advise.

I have just had a heat pump installed with 2 zones and 2 sensoCOMFORT units. I cannot get zone 2 to come on if zone 1 is off - it appears to be set as a slave, and I cannot see any options anywhere to control this... any clue?

Not a clue sorry without seeing or knowing what parts are fitted to the system and how it’s meant to run

    Hello
Could you please explain the "Expended" option in the "ROOM TEMP. MODULATION" ?
At what capacity is the sensoCOMFORT being used in conjuction with Weather Comp. ? I did not know there is such option, I though it has to be always "Inactive" if it runs on the Weather Comp.
I am trying to decide between purchaing the sensoCOMFORT VRC 720 and sensoCOMFORT VRC 720f (wired or wirless), where the wirless version is twice the price of teh wired version.
I am reying to understand teh advantage of the "Expended" option over just "Inactive". Does it modulate even "better" ? If so, then I guess I would need to go with teh wirless option, since I migh need to move the thermostat to another room, away from the kitchen where the boiler is?

Expanded & inactive both use the weather compensation, but whilst in expanded mode the SensoCOMFORT will act as a thermostat allowing you to set a “desired room temperature” once this room temperature is met the heat pump and circulation pump will switch off until it falls 0.2°c below the set temperature.
With INACTIVE it doesn’t have any room interference/influence, even though it states in the screen “desired room temperature” adjusting this will increase/ decrease the flow temperature as an example:
every 0.5°c increase in desired room temperature will increase flow temperature by 1°c and every 0.5°c decrease will lower the flow temperature by 1°c. Once the heating is satisfied in inactive, the heat pump will stop running but the circulation pump will continue to “sample” the heating water to detect a temperature drop and bring the heat pump back on again. From experience and my personal preference, I use inactive as it keeps a more stable room temperature and a better SCOP figure because it’s not letting the heating water cool down too much before it needs reheating, so the compressor doesn’t need to ramp its self up higher to get some heat back into the system.
In expanded, the heating water may cool down considerably more, thus causing the compressor to work a bit harder to get it back up to temperature because it’s governed by the room temperature for starts and stops.

@@i85_Heat_Pumps i have question for you..first thing first..sorry for my bad english..i am from croatia..so, my question is..if I set room temp mod to a expanded can you change that 0,2 difference c to turn on heating...because if i set room temp to 24°c system will turn on heating from 23,8 °c but i want to turn on heating from 23°c...can you change that 0,2 °c difference to 1°c

      Go to:
Settings > installer level > installation configuration > basic system diagram config
Or are you after the diagram numbers and what they mean?
