The OG had the air unit in forefoot as well, I highlight the breakdown of the pamphlet you can see in my 91-08-21 comparison. If nike put in the time and effort like they did in am90 recraft this would have been perfect opportunity with OG box and super cool pamphlet that came with the OG. '21 mesh on toe is definitely better, not as concave when you walk like the '08 retro and softer polyurethane but like you said the comfort isn't quite as good as am90 recraft.

Its crazy to me how slept on this shoe is. Love the tri-tone color ways and basically upgrade to the classic AM90. Its got that nod to the jagged wacky geometric shapes of the 90s

This is actually one of my favorite shoes of all time. I’m on my second pair of the 2009 retro “Shattered Earth”, which is the same color way as this shoe with the grey, pink and blue, except the toe was all grey as well and the midsole had the awesome “shattered earth” pattern on it.

Dope video Chris! As you can probably tell from my profile photo I run, and run just as much as I’m an OG sneakerhead/nerd/enthusiast whatever you wanna call it, and is running in the current zoom structure running shoe as well as other nike shoes, and have been for the past 18 years. However I did cop these recently and nostalgically, I also copped these with no issues in the 11th grade back in 91. In fact I cut class to go get these at my my nearest athletes foot so you can kinda guess my age. Also I totally agree with the consistency on the OG treatment. These definitely deserved much better treatment nonetheless but happy they re-released these. Also the TPU units built into the polyurethane midsole were just pillars to help support the already firm wedged shape midsole of the shoe, that was ultimately designed & structured to only mitigate and decelerate over-pronation and not stop it completely. As someone who also trains athletes as well and works at a particular brand, it’s great to see how it all started! Pure nostalgic for me on all angles.
91 was the best year for running shoes immho. Obviously the triax, the nike air huarache, the nike air 180, the nike air max classic bw, and the Reebok pump Graphite. What other year can beat that for runners? There isn't one.🤷♂️
The shoe use to have a footbridge on top op the air bag. The bridge made has 2 pillars on the inside of the foot. So everytime you strike the bridge make sure you dont turn you foot inside (antipronation) that is the reason why the window on the inside is smaller. The air stab and air span had that same tech
I had those back in 91, yeah I'm that old. I remember they being very popular in Holland. Unfortunately I missed the boat when they were re-released. Update! I just found a pair! I'm so happy.

Craziness about the origin of "Just Do It", the marketing agency that came up with the slogan probably thought that they distanced themselves enough by changing the first word.....That is definitely bananas! Anyway, I was mystified over how these sold out so quickly when not many people wanted them! Just goes to show you, these days, everything is selling out!
Just copped these the other day for $99 and i just noticed besides the pink/redish on the back I just looked at them fully and didn't know the other side has pink/redish 🔥 💯

People used to joke about “Just Do It” regarding the Heaven’s Gate cult because they were all found wearing the now discontinued Nike Decade as part of their uniform.
Fun fact: the members of heavens gate also used that slogan except they would pronounce it as Just Doe It because the leader of the group went by Do (pronounced Doe) and he liked using pop culture slogans.
Wondery (podcast) has a couple of Nike vs Adidas stories and they mention the “Just Do It” slogan too! It’s a good listen if you have the time. Stay safe always!
The structure is the plastic heel cage with the black outline above the midsole, I have a. Couple pairs of the 2009 retro and you can feel the “structure” from those plastic heel tabs if you wear them all day(read: the back and sides of my heel start to hurt lol).
These are a dope pair of Air Max. Gives a slight Air Max BW, 90 and 1 hybrid vibe. Early 90s had some real nice kicks and colorways and AIR MAX making a comeback 😍 that might not be good for me as huge Air Max guy😮🤣

I can't remember where I read it, but I believe I saw that "Just Do It" was the merging of the "Let's Do It" and "Just Say No" phrases. I think those two were in 1979 and 1982 respectively, and in 1988 Nike first used the Just Do It slogan, putting the two together
Since Nike was on the brink of extinction, I am thankful for the success of the “Just Do It” campaign. And as a creative I think the inspiration of the slogan is dope (despite the morbid nature). I can appreciate the Ad agency’s creativity and approach.
You only like these if you're a true sneakerhead these aren't the shoes for hypebeast. I like most have a massive love for 90s era nikes, I'll never forget the first time I saw these on feet in 09ish. The second I saw them I knew I needed a pair and it sucks it took me over 10 years to get them. These will have a permanent spot in my collection.

I bit of a note on the sizing IDK if its just me but to me they fit a half size big. I wear a 10.5 and copped a 10 because in store they only had a 10 I tried it on and it fit exactly like a 10.5. And I doubled up on these and my second pair is a 10.5 and it fits like an 11. So IDK if they are TTS. The non OG version of these that dropped just now fits more TTS than the ones labeled OG
We should get the 180 this year with it being the 30th anniversary. I know we're getting the huarache and air max classic bw for their 30th anniversary.
Passed on them due to not having to correct og tech The structure part had a plastic thing over the rear air units ( also the same in the air stab) it can’t be seen unless you took them to bits I took mine apart on 1992 The og also had forefoot air I still have all the bits
these shoes are anything but true to size. i am a 9.5 vans/reebok, 10 nike/jordan, and i do not really tie my shoes. i ordered my standard nike 10 in these and immediately returned them for a 9. go online and its pretty universal that people say size down due to the longer toe and flimsy mesh front. they look great in 9 as the toe area isn't all scrunched like he was mentioning due to the fact that i keep them loose and untied. i like a little room in my shoes normally so if you dont then size .5 down, as i went a whole size down due to this fact

I wonder if the original had dual density foam because there was a period in time between the late 80s and early 90s the Pegasus had dual density foam midsoles to combat pronation. I was laughing so hard at Chris’ mind being blown. 🤣🤣 that whole time lapse sequence was priceless and made my day. I actually knew that fun fact and forgot about it. It falls under the notion of “turning a negative into a positive” I suppose. I mean it’s still better than supporting someone that glorifies and enables fascism and white supremacy, while claiming slavery was a choice? 🤷🏽♂️🤣

I finally asked for a pair at JDSports and the paint on the size 11’s was already peeling around the red and teal heel. I try not to be a stickler about shit like that but for $120 I expected a little more attention to detail.

Mine are so old they are discolored with cracks on the dye. Love these so much they are the oldest pair of footwear next to a pair of travel fox.
