    Youre a brave man Mick. I would have left that one on the shelf with all that gold trimming and the black body. Nicely done though.

      I may regret running it in years to come but I figure I'll be too old to care by then 🤣. It did get a few scratches but overall still pretty tidy. Thanks mate! 👍

    It flies! Literally. It is amazing to see how one of the first chassis developed by Tamiya, performs so well, showing great agility and stability. And it is a rwd! In addition, it looks spectacular with the gold chrome details, a delight. Thanks for sharing, mate!

      It does mate! Absolutely, for such an old and simple design it runs very well. I agree, it looks great with the gold wheels and stickers. Glad you enjoyed it mate, thanks! 👍

      You might have missed it as you've been busy building RC's lol. Yeah they do go great and handle very well for a hopper style chassis. Haha, nothing too high-tech going on, just a GoPro Hero 9 Black and some magic lol.. Thanks Andrew! 👍

    I want to fly down to Australia just to send my solid axle Tamiya's off that smooth jump of yours! It's the perfect launch to send them straight and level!

  • @bradkalman2353

    But I think even the original one with the friction dampers handled equivalent to the super hornet because of the way the shocks were.

    I know its a basic designed car, but ever since I owned a Hornet then went to a independent OIL shock car, Ive never liked the rolling rear axle design in these things. Good for the 1st timers though.

  • @bradkalman2353
    @bradkalman2353 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    And then I would go into the super hornet after that and then the Black edition grasshopper 2 with a four CVA shocks

  • @mad-beerc3818
    @mad-beerc3818 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Fantastic stuff again Mick!😁👍 I have an original RX still with friction shocks though but definitely going to hop up to oil ones seeing how yours performed on those landings! Don't use mine that much but that could change!😉
    How do you rate that driving experience to the Hopper 2 the other day??

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks James! Yeah the CVA's do really help on jumps. Go on, get it out for a run! 😁
      It did feel a little better to drive than the GH2 but the motor is quite a bit slower than the RZ. Just a little less bouncy. 👍

      @@RCHobbyShed yeah Mick it looked not bad in handling! Surprisingly balanced!
      Yeah l will get mine out for a spin very soon! I Don't do enough running these days! I surpose its because l have to get up so damn early to get the beach free and to myself and when its a day off work that's tough to do lol😁

    performs real good. was it more durable than the 4wd fire dragon? at least it didn't break this time

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it does, quite surprising for a hopper style chassis. Hard to say if it was any more durable as the Fire Dragon was running a faster motor and better battery which made for harder landings and more cartwheels lol... but yeah it didn't break, so that's a bonus! 👍

    PRODUCT STRESS TEST RESULT: PASS, ADD WINGS FOR FLIGHT MODE
    That looks way more planted than the Grasshopper 2. I guess the longer (?) wheel-base and better weight distribution play a major part. It looked really assured on the jumps and berms. A right little ripper!

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's is quite a bit better to drive. That's right, the wheelbase is around 40mm longer, plus the rear shocks are laying down a lot more so they work smoother. Yeah, in all it is the better car to drive of the two I think. 👍
