"I want to go home." Final line had me in tears. After completing her life's greatest work at break neck speeds, she finally admits that she's exhausted and just wants to see her home again.
If you watch the ending cutscene, you can see the car she used to get home. No way she walked ~400 miles before her air ran out. Would have been the most depressing drive ever considering how her life’s work before Zero Dawn had a big fat dump taken on it by Faro’s arrogance, hubris and the unwillingness of those around him to stop him.
The swarm was too close. Elisabet took action without delay, yet she wasn't able to return inside safely without risking their location to the machines. The Alphas were too busy arguing with each other. If they had waited any longer, GAIA could have been discovered and destroyed by the swarm, thus ending all life in the process.
Ted Farro is a narcissistic a-hole, he believes that he's the one and only for the world. He believes his existence is important compared to others... Years later he's just a lump of pathetic meat on his own tomb.
1:10 - epic how Sobeck decided to sacrifice herself, suit up, go outside and fix the seal in under 5 minutes. This fictional character was really formative for my personality back in 2016 and I credit her for my current career in robotics
I just found this scene last night, and ooooh man I cracked so hard when I realized what happened to her. I started sobbing the moment I saw her appear on the display rather than around the table. And man the music....the fucking music....it just made the whole thing hit so hard. So....hauntingly epic and melancholy. I think throughout this all, like Aloy, I had built this idea in my head that she'd get some resolution, some...message from Elizabet to Aloy, a bittersweet hello and goodbye, that she was passing off the torch to Aloy or something like that. But to see her do this, that she willingly traded her life to protect GAIA just makes this so much more heart wrenching than a message could've been. Man...this just hits really hard. And while yes she's a fictional character, I wish her fair winds and following seas.

This makes me feel like Aloy has the potential to die in the end of this franchise. It would kind of make it all come full circle in a bittersweet but beautiful way
When I first played this game, I was so very close to finishing it when my first PS4 Pro fucked up. Texture stretching, and the game kept crashing 2 minutes after I loaded in giving me the same error. If this wasn't the quest I had just gotten to when it messed up, it was the one just before it. The last quest I did was the defence of all mother mountain and entering the mountain. I _finally_ replayed this game a few weeks ago, and holy _shit_ am I glad I hadn't gotten to this point before the game started messing up. I wish I could have finished it sure, but if I had seen this and then the issues started it would have been so much worse. I love this scene, and it made me tear up when I watched it, both Elizabet's actions and the theme kicking in. It should have been Faro man, it was his fault to begin with. *; - ;*
I just finished this game last night and glad I never looked up all this before playing this when I realised the amour Elisabeth was wearing was the one I just found and wearing I leaned back thinking oh oh god that's the amour I got and she has it too
I'm with you man, late as fuck to this game completed it about the same time you did but so glad I took the time and effort to go out and get it, I feel I would have seriously missed out if I hadn't. Honestly cant fault this game, had a few glitches where I spotted a boar inside a tree with my focus (lol) but the combat was challenging yet smooth, the story was enthralling (Especially the datapads) and it is probably the best looking game i've ever played. Really love this imo underated game, fantastic.
I got to this scene, but Dr. Sobek's model bugged out, so her hologram looked like pyramid head. It was still an impactful scene, but I was wondering if the hologram was supposed to be intentionally malfunctioning or if it was just a glitch.
Just finished the game , it's great but I wish some things would've gone differently , like I wish Elisabet was still alive somehow , or they could've shown a cliffhanger in the end in which Elisabets armor was there but her body wasn't , I just wanted a happy ending for aloy , also the ending was a bit underwhelming , killing the deathbringer was nothing special .
Aloy is super naive, although Sylens turns into the villain, he was absolutely correct in what he was telling Aloy in my opinion. Elisabet was better than them
Not sure what his intentions are. He captured hades in the end for what? To get the information about unknown signal and destroy it or to help hades again.. cant wait for 2nd part..

when i played frozen wilds and now forbidden west i just can't stop noticing how bad the animations are whenever you are in these "non-cutscene" dialogues, like Aloy is there fuming with anger but she makes these generic head rotations and arm moves and doesn't even change her facial expressions
so the alphas went to this bunker to complete their final mission but a small gap remained open in one of the security doors and could only be locked from the outside. If the swarm got there it would be the end for them. Elisabet took this suit that had helped her to breathe outside because the earth was a barren, lifeless rock at that time, and locked the door. The problem was, after that she couldn't get in and she knew she was going to die

The saddest thing is that by sacrificing herself, she inadvertently doomed the rest of the Alphas to Faro’s insanity.

The Alphas were too busy arguing with each other. If they had waited any longer, GAIA could have been discovered and destroyed by the swarm, thus ending all life in the process.

She would have died either way. At least this way all of her work wasn't for nothing (only apollo)

How was Lis able to go home ? Wouldn’t the swarm get her?
Gotta respect sylens. After her explanation he understood her point and said “your argument is sound” instead of being stubborn.
Indeed.
Also, he's talking to the physical reincarnation of Elizabeth Sobeck. If anyone would know how Sobeck felt, it was Aloy

I think this song wasn't actually in the gameplay of this scene and I believe the song is called Song for Aloy
It plays during the scene

This is probably going to mirror how Aloy's story will end.
