    The ideia of setting an alarm and taking hourly photos of your beds is such an amazing ideia! Thank you ❤

    Great info to review when we're looking at our beds. We get a LOT of sun in the summer and a LOT less in spring and fall. It's always a challenge to get the plants right here. A lot of the flowers I plant are natives and do well with the variable light. Cheers Janie!

    Thank you so much! I used to think "isn't part sun the same as part shade?" ⛅ But you cleared that up perfectly for me! Such useful information. It would be great if you had a cute little PDF with each of these definitions but I think I can manage to create one for myself. 😄

    I'm so glad you're going to do a video on fertilizer! I myself am an inconsistent fertilizer. I never know when, how often and with what should I fertilize. Plus is feeding another name for it? Because of this my plants have always struggled. 🌞 I have an east facing full shade yard. The only spots for sun is my easement and a south facing 6x6 area in a spot next to my garage. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next!

    • @DigPlantWaterRepeat
      @DigPlantWaterRepeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yay thanks Lolly! Feeding is another name for fertilizing. Just think about it as you are giving your plants food, water and shelter (fertilizer, water and good soil) that always helped me! Full shade is tough but there are some really beautiful things you can do in full shade! Have a wonderful day my friend!

    Great information as always! I often have to research new plants to see what STATE they thrive in because our summers are so harsh here in Georgia that if I'm planting something that will technically grow in our growing zone if they prefer milder weather areas I find they do better with afternoon shade here. Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful week! (I'm looking forward to the fairy gardens! My daughter and I enjoy doing the same!)

    Thanks for the idea of taking a picture every hour. My neighbor just had to have a huge tree removed because of damage from the winter storm a year ago. He tried to let it recover but it was starting to drop limbs on his house and in my pool. We were both sad to see it go. Now my whole yards light is going to be different. I think taking pictures all day will help me determine what the new light will be. And you are correct gardening is an art.

      @@DigPlantWaterRepeat my pleasure. I was recommend to you by Power to the Flower. I’m always looking for gardening advice in our zone :) When you plant daffodils do you leave them in ground/containers to naturalize? I have about 100 bulbs planted in a 20 foot by 3 foot deep concrete bed and would love to let them be. My second question is about proven winners double up pink begonias which I have overwintered in a container and trying to bring back. Have you had any experience with begonias?

    • @DigPlantWaterRepeat
      @DigPlantWaterRepeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rsqadry oh that is very sweet of Cara! Yes I leave my daffodils in the ground. Just make sure you let the leaves brown before cutting them off so the bulbs have enough energy for next year! As for the PW begonias, I overwintered mine in my greenhouse just to be safe since they are a zone 10. What zone are you in?

    • @rsqadry
      @rsqadry 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DigPlantWaterRepeat thank you for the info! Yes, Cara is so sweet and helpful. She’s really encouraged me to share more about my own garden on my IG (in not on social media much ;) I’m in zone 9b/10a, depending on which website I use to look up my zone. I have 4 double ups in containers and left them on my fairly protected patio. They seem to be coming back but one developed white film/powder on the leaves. It was in deep shade. I cut off the affected leaves and put it in more sun. Would love your thoughts.

    Im still trying to figure out “bright shade” but I think it might be filtered sun or part shade. Thank you for explaining these concepts, I’m new to gardening ever since I bought a home- killed many things, but now I have about 75 plants to care for and I have to be super strategic about how I place them.
