I broke my bolts off my 2004 wrangler years ago. I cut the floor out so I could drill the bolts out after breaking every easy out I owned. Yeah it sucked but I repaired the holes with some clever body work. I just sold her this year, I miss that Jeep that my tour to Iraq paid for. Oh well got a good resale value and bought a new one for the wife.
Since 2016 I’ve been using your videos and others’ to teach myself to be my own mechanic. Been doing good. Well, in the sumner of 2018 I acquired my cousins shitty Meg/Tig welder and was teaching myself to weld. I almost burned down my aunts garage, lol! Anyhow, I LOVE YOUR EQUIPMENT on this video! I want those! OMG 💕
Great solution! Its worth noting you can make this without a mill. You'll need flat bar, 1/2" grill, angle grinder with cut off wheel, and a welder. drill the half in hole, then cut the portion he is milling away to achieve the slotted portion. I only have access to scrap 1/4" flat bar, so I'm going to stack it, weld it, drill it, then slot it. You don't need the back piece (BKS milled part of a 1/2" think flat leaving a thin piece of meter as a "keeper") as it is pressed against the shock mount.
If the shocks have been changed before I shouldn't have to worry about this right? I have a 99 TJ I am looking to change the shocks out on. The shocks that are on it are better suited for a 1/2 ton truck than a TJ making it ride pretty rough. I am in NC and it has no rust
Nobody wants to loss an inch on their pin bar..... :) .... seriously mate the underside of the Jeep was looking grand there, quite the transformation....
You need to have good shocks in the back when your doing the nasty with one of Aubrey's sloppy seconds in the backwoods lol. Its sure nice having a small milling machine.
You could market those and make some $! Make a bunch up and put them out there for sale so people without milling machines can just but them already made up and just weld them on. Nice solution! P.S.: I tried to search TH-cam for your original channel name using our cable system's on-demand voice remote. Xfinity (Comcast) voice came back and told me it could not process foul language... They should be OK now that you changed to BSK.
Thanks for the great video. We just built these for my 98 tj. They work great, and what a great idea.
Glad it worked out for you
