We have a lawn service. I'm over 60 years old. Getting up and down while working on mowers getting up & down just kills me!!!! Your cart is awesome. thank you😊
It is so nice to see you willing to do content that isn’t just wood related, because we know most of your viewers including myself have interests in so many things! Thanks for sharing and going out of the scope of your normal content. Love it!!
Doug after reading the comments here today it's apparent that you are becoming Adam's Wilson to Home improvement Tim Taylor!! Keep up the good work and hidy ho lol.
Awesome video! I’m a professional tech and I took a lot of tips from Doug’s shop tour, and the other tour video too- an experienced word of caution: be careful when putting 4 swivel casters on a tool box- when all 4 casters are turned in- the centre of gravity is now further to the centre of the box. Won’t make a difference with a drawer-less cart, but with a tool box with drawers, the weight of a heavy drawer will flip the box on its face when it’s opened. That’s the reason boxes have only 2 swivel wheels. :) Amazing content! I appreciate all you post- we’re kinda 2 peas in a pod- firewood- tractors- sawmills. Healthy country lifestyle. Cheers my friend, Jeff
I know how to organize a shop, I’m the service manager at a large auto repair facility, i watch these videos for motivation and it works, sometimes I pick something new up, but this helps me reorganize my own garage when I’m burnt out.
Great ideas, I am in my garage all the time, it is way too small and with my lift in the middle everything has to be along the walls, this cart idea is great for working under the car and keeps track of everything. I totally agree that the tool boxes need to be organized - great video
Being organized is quite a time saver. Sometimes during a project you need to stop, get a cup of coffee and sort out the tools you are done with and rid the area of the parts that you are done with. Great video!
I work just like this at home with random jobs and car maintenance. I did something similar with my kids' baby changing station. Modified it to hold tools and put casters on it. I'll definitely take some of these ideas for my own. Thank you for creating this content!!
Hi from Australia, and a new sub. I love your mitre saw mounting idea. I have that problem where I didn't know where to store it, except assembled and its always in the way and having to move it outside all the time.
I had a stroke a couple of years ago and now I have short term memory loss. I’m always looking for tools and losing time. This is an excellent video and will really help me to stay organized so I can focus on my projects. Thank you so much for sharing this. 👍
Great ideas, I bought an old medical crash cart and used that as my tool cart when I was in a ship. That and also I used a tool tote and secured a piece of the pliers organizer to keep my normal pliers and large wrenches. We worked mainly large cat dozer and loaders so it was same tools. Now I'm in a truck and these videos are helping me to think about how to organize my truck better. Thank you
Doug is a legend!! I'm getting some ideas to start organizing my (very messy) garage. I'm tired of wasting my time looking for my tools over and over again.
I had built a crash cart back when I was doing locksmithing. Code machine and key duplicator on the top shelf. And hand tools on the bottom. I would be in a office building and push my cart from one work Oder to another work order. I did this back in the early 1980’s. Even though I’m disabled now, I still have my crash cart.
Awesome!! I have the SAME luxor cart. I use Veto tool bags to hold everything in their main kind of task. I put the backpack and meter bags on the bottom shelf and work out of them while I'm on the floor. What I am missing is magnets!! I have ordered the luxor EC11-NDUST-B cart since it has screws holding things. I should put a vid together when I finish to honor you guys. Thanks!
I have been wanting a miter saw but have no floor space to leave it. You just gave me a way to own my own miter saw. I thank you, the hardware store thanks you. We just go a Menard's and I am pretty sure my wife has had my photos posted throughout the store with the caption "do not allow this man to buy anything".
I’m sure that when you look out at your new pond you must get a big smile on your face That came out great and is really looking good. I too have a cart I use in my shop. I always thought it was great to load it up with the tools I needed and work. Seeing this I’m going to set a little project time aside and customize my cart. Doug had some great ideas. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
Pond is looking fantastic. I really think Doug should start his own channel just making things. I for one would subscribe. Watching you making the cart step by step would be awesome. Keep up the good work Adam. 🇮🇪
Awesome channel. I am so glad I stumbled upon it. I am currently moving from a country setting with lots of buildings and garage space to a house in town with a small 3 car garage. I have three cars so being organized will be way more important. I am excited to be more organized. The problem with a lot of space is you can have stuff in other buildings and spend more time looking for something. Thank You and keep up the good work.
Great video guys! Thanks for some value added content Doug. I was reminded of an old saying that I picked up from somewhere….Have a place for everything and put everything in its place. You will never look for anything ever again if it has a home and it’s always there when not in use. Nice update on the pond Adam. Your family is about to start a lifetime of enjoyment. The fruits of your labour are about to pay off!
I'm gonna be honest, I bought a used 3 drawer Snapon cart. And have regretted it every day. It's too large and heavy loaded. I find myself trying to load it down with everything that's in my 2 large boxes. I only really needed something like this. Man the TH-cam rabbit hole sucked me in. 😂
I love the channel, one piece of constructive criticism is that i clicked to see the tool cart and not almost 7 minutes of not tool cart before we got to tool cart
Had a friend of mine that worked off the ground more than he worked standing as well. He took an old creeper frame and made a tool cart off it. The highest thing was only like 1 1/2ft high, which was a removable screwdriver set. He wired up a work light on the side and everything. It just takes a little thought and experience to figure out what you want/need to make the job easier.
Great idea. Im in the middle of organizing my toolboxes now. I just cleaned off a cart my son and i used back this summer when we swapped a shortblock out on his Forester. Harbor Freight is getting some of my money right now for sure!!
Doug and Adam. The only thing I would add is magnetic trays to hold those bolts as you take them off. I am a HD mechanic and have many different magnetic trays that I use on different jobs. Keep up the great videos. Don
I legit have been trying to organize my tools after your last video with your neighbor. My girlfriend doesn't understand (yet) why I'm getting so organized, but she'll appreciate it this coming summer. :) Thanks!
Just found and subbed your channel. Looks like I have a lot of videos to catch up on. Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan Ps........ My uncle Fred taught me when I was a teenager..... No job is done until the tools are put away.
I like the ideas Doug. The magnet strip are a nice idea. He should add a couple magnetic trays to mix. That is where my lug nuts, bolts, etc. and don't have to be worried about them rolling off or disappearing.
Nice cart build. You definitely have to make things work for you and your situation. Doug does a great job of that. There is so many lessons from lean manufacturing and first order of retrieval that you can translate into you day to day.
When I poured the floor first on my shop, I still had to work and so I threw a tent up on that floor so I had a surface to work off of. I had a cart much like this one and did the same thing you have done here except on the back side of mine, I had some plywood attached to it and layed out my different pry bars. I had drilled holes along the sides for sticking in as well as those phony socket organizers that the size was on the little plastic peg sticking up. Those couldn't be seen or read them after a couple of uses. It worked for some time till the walls were up and stuff just changes over time. I had worn the other wheels out.
Love the fact you look and referenced Cody at Wranglerstar. I recently found you and love to see your work. I found Wranglerstar maybe 4 years ago and I have learned so much in such a short time, per my needs with a job and or fabricating. Keep up the great videos, sometimes a busy guy like myself with young kids finds himself looking around for other inspiration than the circle we can be around. I am grateful you have Doug have been naturally thinking or looking at other creators, thinking about someone like myself, who could benefit from alternate ideas at hand. Cheers for 2022 - I am organizing and doing modular stuff in my garage shop too for this new years.
Freakin awesome cart Doug… thanks for all that you both do for us viewers… such great ideas from you both and I’m a magnet hoarder when I go to ole harbor freight. I’m turning my basement in to a “Doug organization”… it’s so nice being able to find tools without spending so much time looking for them… you guys rock….stay safe and happy 22 to you both….👍👍👍
Had a simular crate for years with a perforated sheet on one side for tools and those magnet bowls for screws and stuff. Makes life easier and as you said have access to the tools where I am 👍
You and Doug are awesome! His ideas and creations are beyond Ingenious! My shop is in progress, I am a woodworker and do it yourself mechanic for all my equipment.
Our pond in Nw Illinois is 5 in thick but we had wet snow on it, so it's basically the surface of the moon. But we can still ice fish. Doug is the best neighbor ! I have to make one of the wood totes. Great video as usual.
Nice! Thanks for sharing these ideas with us. You're absolutely right about the individual customization for each person's cart. The ideas are wonderful... now I can use what I've learned to customize my own cart.
I have something similar going on but this gave me some ideas for additions. I appreciate you. Thank you for sharing your skills knowledge and experience
Great job as usual. The miter saw mount was nothing short of brilliant. I love the totes for the wood. If you can’t get a hold of the totes, I wonder if you could use rebar? I am not sure what would be best, 3/8” or 1/2”? You could use a torch and bend the 4 corners around a pipe mandrel. I’d make 4 or 5 sections then cut straight pieces to connect it all together. Make your own pallet to set them on. I think the modified tool cart Doug uses is great too. He is 100% correct, smarter not harder. I think the “other channel” means we’ll, but Doug clearly is on the right path here. He could perhaps make a place to stow a bottle jack on the lower shelf.
Came across your video because I have Been looking at tool carts and I was gonna get a three drawer one that I realized that I have a huge toolbox that stores my tools. I just need something to take my tools to where I’m working so this is exactly what I’m gonna end up doing.

It's worse when the cart is top heavy from the weight of the tools or parts. Two fixed wheels keeps the cart oriented in a more stable position.
Kudos for giving Wranglerstar some props. While I enjoy his channel, I most certainly don’t agree with everything... like 95%, which is better than most. I keep my tools very well organized, and take pride in that (though just in a 3 car garage). One guy came over to help with my sisters cars and complimented me for my organization. That absolutely made my day and I still think of it. A little thought and effort goes a long way.
Only two upgrades I would make is; a mount on the handles to mount a scene flood light while working in the dark and some off-road casters since I live out in the country and don't have smooth ground like everyone else. Thanks for the great ideas!!
Where's that ratchet I'm laying on, oh no I just kicked my lug nuts, man, can't find that socket I used 2 minutes ago, oh its on the ratchet, oil running down my arm where's that rag, is that a screw sticking in my leg, oh man I forgot my drill. That was a great been there done that, video.
Hi Adam and Doug from over here in Ireland. Great video Adam. What a great mind and inspirational ideas Doug has. The tool cart is so awesome and so organised and so simple to do. Awesome video guys
with carts like those you can bolt up those cheap metal tool boxes to the bottom of it and have 3 drawers for sockets and impacts guns and stuff like that
The ABCs of good, encouraging TH-cam content: Adam from hometown acres, Billy from Buckin' Billy Ray Smith, Cody from Wranglerstar, and Doug the always helpful and generous. Down the line a ways at M we, of course, have Mark Rober. Love the content, looks like you're keeping busy, thanks for the window into your pond life!
Your pond is looking good and looks like it's holding water well. We're still battling the holding water part with ours. We may have to pump it out and add some clay to the bottom. Doug is the man!

Everyone needs a neighbor “Doug” as he adds friendship and a voice of reason.
Or a neighbor Cliff and his wife Jeannie 👍🏼. For when you smash your thumb. (You know who I’m talking about…..)
If I lived by him, I'd put him down as an asset if I were selling g my house

I got a cart that rivals that one. It’s more set up for commercial plumbing in large facilities but I put a lot of love and money on mine.
Great stuff! Boy did you ever win the neighbor lottery with Doug. So creative.
Awesome video! I'm always doing this. Be right in the middle of it, my anti-clutter ocd kicks in and I stop and clean for 20 minutes. Then back to work we go.
Neighbor Doug is a natural in front of the camera...you should make him a regular “guest” on your channel. Tim in northern TN
Good follow up the the previous organizational videos! Again … took some pointers and am converting one of my carts!
Neighbor Doug is a clever guy. Lots of good ideas. Nice video Adam
What a great bunch of add on ideas to the cart.

Very cool idea for the miter saw storage, I am stealing this idea.

Good lesson in ergonomics.
Love the Mini totes... now you need a mini forklift to move them around! LOL
Pond is looking great and Doug is amazing. Very talented young man!
Our pond in Nw Illinois is 5 in thick but we had wet snow on it, so it's basically the surface of the moon. But we can still ice fish. Doug is the best neighbor ! I have to make one of the wood totes. Great video as usual.
Great idea's, thanks to you and Doug.
Good video, your buddy Doug is on point!
I am totally going to make my current cart into something like this. Thanks for the ideas, keep doing videos like this. Subscribed!
Nice placement for the saw. Mine does not clamp onto the stand, it bolts. Nice short cart.
This is a great video that I think will surprise you as time goes by. I believe this will have a lot of views over the years. Great job guys!
I use the larger pool noodles for bumpers, and pipe insulation
Everyone should have a neighbor like Doug 😁
Came across your video because I have Been looking at tool carts and I was gonna get a three drawer one that I realized that I have a huge toolbox that stores my tools. I just need something to take my tools to where I’m working so this is exactly what I’m gonna end up doing.
Thanks for the pond update! I would like to see the 'in process' of a Doug project! (probably not welding on a Linoleum floor)
You show what you are actually doing i.e. milling/stickering lumber and most everything in between. Doug would show a tree and then a stack of stickered lumber or a piece of furniture he made from it! Thanks again for the pond update.
Dennis
I actually weld on that floor every day. Grinder dust, weld slag and even plasma cutting, that floor has held up so good for the last 20 years! The key is to keep it cleaned and not grind in the grit from walking on it day in and day out! I keep it swept up frequently.
@@OneEyeCustomsThe step by step process is missing! Also, Is that just linoleum?
Dennis
@Karen Lewis the flooring is individual 1’x1’ squares that is 1/8” thick. It is not roll out linoleum and I’m sure that is why it has held up over time!
Manufacturers do not put on four swivel casters because the straight casters on one side provide more control to go in a straight line, especially for heavier items. Swivels may be okay for light hauls but not heavy items.
Nice tips - thanks for sharing.
Awesome video, Adam. I love when Doug is in your videos. I don't understand how he doesn't have his own YT channel. Glad that he's appearing more and more in your videos. You tow make a kickass team. Keep up the great work.
Great idea again Doug! That’s exactly why I love you tube! I learn something new everyday! Thanks for sharing Adam. The pond is lookin great👍🏻👍🏻
Four swivels are harder to control when you're moving the cart around the shop and are unstable. The swivels can catch on something and flip the cart over. It's worse when the cart is top heavy from the weight of the tools or parts. Two fixed wheels keeps the cart oriented in a more stable position.
True, you can "drive" the cart.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to separate the bottom tray to bring it with ya under vehicle 🤣🤣 great build Doug
Got this guy already a TH-cam channel what are we waiting for, way to go neighbour
Kudos for giving Wranglerstar some props. While I enjoy his channel, I most certainly don’t agree with everything... like 95%, which is better than most. I'm sending my son to Doug's for a week so he can try to teach him to put tool's back where they belong Lol
Only two upgrades I would make is; a mount on the handles to mount a scene flood light while working in the dark and some off-road casters since I live out in the country and don't have smooth ground like everyone else. Thanks for the great ideas!!
Great Video and Channel.
I kid you not, I was watching the Wranglerstar video when it came out and immediately thought of you and Doug. Watching this was like deja vu..
Haha that’s funny, after I watched it I immediately sent it to Doug lol

Adam how about shrinking down a wood pallet for underneath those firewood racks. You could then move them more easily with your tractor!

Great job Guys!
