THANK YOU for this tutorial. I had an intricate flower that I was reverse weeding, but still was losing pieces. I was searching for a trick/hint and came across your video. The weeding lines really helped. They’re are more pieces to weed. But I’m not losing anything.
I actually started doing this after I had a really intricate design and manually cut around it and was scared of cutting through to the backing or into the design! Such a great hack! Thanks for sharing!
Hi there, your video was very helpful. Can you please explain how this technique would work for a flowing design with words and Christmas trees snowflakes etc. Finding weeding to be a nightmare with these intricate designs. Throwing away tons of vinyl. Help! Thanks!
Becky I always look forward to your tutorials as they are so informative. Thank you for taking the time to teach us time saving tips and tricks using the Cricut. Crafting is fun but at times can be frustrating. Do you have a tip on how to keep out bubbles when laying down vinyl on glass subway tile??
Hi Can you put a link to the tweezers you are using for weeding? That looks pretty easy..They look different than other tweezers. Very helpful video! Thanks!
How do I do this with regular text boxes instead of using an image? I’m trying to make weeding lines with regular text but it won’t let me slice. Thanks!
Becky, I get to the point where I have to slice the writing with the first box. When I click on the gray corresponding box... what the heck do I do then? I have watched this video over and over but still can't figure out what it is you are doing or why you are doing it. You mention taking care to watch the boxes on the right but I'm still lost. Could you please, please help me with this? You are the only person that even touches on weeding 'lines' on the Cricut. The boxes are easy but the lines are still just not getting through this thick skull of mine. Help.
You want to then remove the grey, keep the white. It has to be done like this because you can only slice 2 objects at a time. The reason for doing this it to make the backing come off easier when weeding - it wouldn’t cut the letters at all.
I love knowing how to make a weed box. On the boxes I would have had the box. Cover one line of the font, would save having to weed those letters in 2 pieces.
Hi! I know this video was posted awhile ago, but I really need some help as I don't know what I'm doing wrong - or if there is something wrong with my cricut. That being said - I'm beside myself! I have cut and tried to weed a very intricate design using weeding lines because it is a large project. So, I did it where I needed to slice my design to get the 'see through' version of what I want to cut. Done. I made the 'line box' - no problem. (I made my boxes a little longer than the width of my design and one inch high each). I looked at everything and it appears that the weeding box lines are UNDERNEATH my design. Both on my design space canvas and also when I hit 'make it', I triple checked and all of the weeding lines are BEHIND MY DESIGN. HOWEVER -- when I went to cut it (after all that da*n work), and put it on the shirt that I got just for this project, I pressed it on --- and you can see that the cut line for the weeding box actually cut through some of my actual design and you can see a thin line at some point though almost every one of the line boxes I made!!! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??!!! I've spent numerous hours, tons of vinyl and four ruined shirts..........not to mention my sanity left me hours/days ago........ Why is my cricut cutting through some of my actual design and not just the weeding lines?? This would be my new favorite way to weed an intricate design ever if I could get it to work!!! PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!!!! Thank you very much! ~Christine - feeling crazy.
Loving this! However, i have followed the video step-by-step and the "slice" option remains greyed out when i come to slice the design that is placed over the squares. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the issue is. Any ideas??

I need to try this. It seems so much easier. I have a Cricut explore air2. Can I use the smart vinyl on that machine?

Wow, wonderful video! I am just not sure what you are deleting after you slice? I will look to see if you have a video on that topic. Thanks so much.
It's like a cookie cutter. You are cutting out your shape and getting rid of what's around it
Wow! Love this hack.❤
Well, that was different. Not sure I'm crazy about the weeding lines, though. But nicely explained!
Thanks for watching!

Great video! Thanks! I didn’t notice but are there lines thru the letters themselves?
I'll have to try them both
Where you got the pink tweezers
Awesome videos! Great info!

You can find some on Amazon! 😊

I re-started the project and was able to finally understand! It REALLY was brilliant once i got it! Lol
Please disregard my previous question :P
Hi Peggy! No worries! We are always here to help if you need us - Dawn 😊
When I try to do this my slice option is greyed out. Any idea 💡 how to fix?
Hi there! You may have too many item selected! Try choosing only 2 parts! - Dawn
Would this work with very small letters
Can you create weeding boxes with a print/cut project?
You wouldn't need to since you would be cutting around the image. 😊
Do the weeding lines cut through the actual designs or wordings?
Very interesting ❤️
Thank you! 😊
GENIUS
Thank you for participating ! ❤️
How did I feel? YIKES!
