****** IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ******* I recommend dual wielding claws for levelling, but DO NOT swap to claws until you have 2 with at least a T9 Damage roll (Hold ALT on your item to see the tiers). You will be way better off with a two handed axe or sword that is phys crafted with the blacksmiths recipe. You will have an AWFUL time if you switch before this. The reason I dual wield is purely for the attack speed bonus it offers to both Helix and more importantly whirling blades. If you would rather go claw and shield you can and makes it easier to manage upgrades.

I like how you actually describe the cons/shortcomings of the build. I can't stand builds that claim you can beat all end game content with no gear whatsoever. I'll probably end up going HOP Spiders later in the league, but this looks like it will make a fun league starter and gear/currency farmer for reroll.

I was going to experiment with removing the ele damage nodes early on for more AS/DMG and I'm glad to see you've already done that. So looking forward to starting a league with a skill set that actually can move through maps decently, rather than going bow and struggling :)
Solid video mate. Would be great to see you do this for other builds too. A lot of guides assume everyone knows how to level to maps but Im a complete boomer.
Finally tried this build and i gotta say, its fantastic!! Great guides too. Your right up there with Esoro in detail. Im dual weilding claws instead of using a shield. Im not sure i ll use a shied, too much fun

Awful for Blight. Most melee builds are unless you just rely on towers. Heist it is pretty decent as is very quick and does good damage and is fairly tanky
The Guide is really good and i will League Start this. But i ran the 2.18 Version a few Days ago and The 2.19 Version today to test things out. And i think in the 2.18 Version you focused more on the Elemental Damage and swapped way later to Crit. That felt way better because crit is scaling really poorly without gear. You need more respec points if you take more ele damage in the acts and its possible to clear the acts with crit without to much struggles. I just think ele dmg will make it easier for newer players.
when you switch the crit and run assassin mark you should have around 50% crit chance with a flask and chance to crit. I am just recommending this way as it is easier to transition when you get to maps. I am not saying my way is best :) but when I practiced I thought it felt really smooth. You also lack damage mid game with the 3.19 tree as there is quite a bit of pathing nodes down to the duelist area but once you pick up the frenzy nodes it starts feeling really good
At 12:36 you said "take the determination reservation node, and the reservation wheel. Then you will be able to run the auras." I thought they were taking all mana reservation off the passive tree. Am I missing something obvious? I'm kinda new to this game so forgive me. But this build looks really fun.

Its because i really dont like helix and i know quite a lot compared to other builds aber PC PF. Would definitely change later on because i also want to start crafting this league on my own. Hi Fuzzy, great videos as always, but the one thing I don't get with VLS despite watching numerous videos, is how do you go about getting your strike gloves? because you are going to need a bunch of eldritch currency to do so right? so sticking with helix while you're powerfarming t14s?
Do you mean levelling or in maps. Levelling I do not run a shield unless I find one really good claw that would make dualwielding a DPS loss. Maps you 100% want to run a shield
@@FuzzyDuckzy appears to be in the instance of pushing spectral helix and not switching to LS, using White Wind. It made me curious as I can see myself using spectral helix quite a ways into maps due to gear limitations for LS.
Sadly no as I never really get chance to play more than a few hours in a session so it was done in several bursts which is why the timer disappears halfway through as I forgot about it :) I may do an act 1-3 run and put the vod up

I would not worry about dying early on. Raider gets very little access to life early on so it can be a bit rough. Just make sure your resistances are capped and you are upgrading your gear when you can. When you get your first lab done and get to level 38ish you will be spell suppress capped which makes things a lot better. Blood rage just gives you frenzy charges so you can attack quicker but it drains your life. It is not need it is more for people that are desperate to do stuff quicker :)

I'll probably start this if the patch notes are LS friendly, since minions are uncertain for me this coming league. Just one question, did I see you using both LS and Helix in Act 4 to 6 or was I dreaming? :)
Yes I use 4 x Normal Lightning Strike for clear: LS - Pierce - Ancestral Call + Any Damage support. I only do this if I have the spare links to do it as you will still need Helix for rares/bosses I drop this LS set up once I go nightblade set up around act 7 and just go full Helix
@@DamienBaka On another note I am pretty sure minions are going to be fine they will just be built differently and there are now more class options. I do not know as I am not a minion player but lots of the big minion players seem to be coming round to the idea that actually the changes are not that bad. I guess we need to wait to see exactly what this new minion gear is like and new uniques
@@FuzzyDuckzy Probably yeah, I think that if minions were hit too hard, a relatively big part of the community would just quit the game. But, it's my excuse to finally start with something different than minions, LS has been calling me since 3.17 so I think it's time. Plus I really like the Raider ascendancy. Elemental ailments immunity, max spell suppression, decent armour are things I consider mandatory these days.
Hi fuzzy great vid. Question. - how is LS or more to the point spectral helix for endless heists? Since we only transition to ls later lavels Did you try?
Helix is pretty good for heist as are most skills on Raider, but if you wanted to spend like a day in heist a bow build might be better. I farmed Heist last league for 3-4 hours on Helix before ending the campaign as wanted to get 300-400 chaos together to get my build strong from the start of maps. Elusive keeps you safe and quick and Helix has pretty good coverage in the small spaces in heist. If you go heisting for a long time I would probably change the ascendancy to Quartz infusion, Rapid assault + Avatar of the chase and take Graceful assault on the tree. then use blood rage for frenzies. You can always respec with the mountain of regret orbs you will farm. This will make you super zoomy and mean you can complete a lot more heists per hour

Thanks for the great guide! How do you handle running Anger, Precision, and Determination without getting the Determination efficiency on your updated POB? I only have 65 mana unreserved. I have the precision 100% efficiency and Charisma.
@@D4rkDust what level are you? If you have taken primal spirit node and the precision reservation node you should be fine once you hit late 80s. However if you are trying to put level 20 gems on a level 70 character you will struggle for mana as you get more mana with levels You can always run a slightly lower precision if you are still levelling up
@@FuzzyDuckzy I'm only level 64, but have taken both nodes and my Determination is at level 12, Precision and Anger at 15. I was just confused because in the video at 12:28 you said that you took Anger, Precision and Determination right after you got those two nodes and i don't have enough mana for it right now. But i guess i will just stop leveling the gems and wait until i have enough mana then. Sorry if this was a dumb question, i'm an absolute beginner at this game :D
@@D4rkDust You should be fine it you have: Charisma, Primal Spirit, 100% Precision reservation. 65 Unreserved mana sounds about right at this stage and should still be fine if you run inspiration in your main links and have mark on hit joined up to life tap.
Great video as always, and appreciate the work you put into this build over the last few leagues. I was thinking of trying maybe a bow Raider this league, but SH --> LS to farm up currency is probably going to be my go to again with a swap later, since my bow levelling practice runs have felt really clunky (TR, RoA, LS, CA). A quick question if you don't mind, how come you're not using precise technique for the campaign / early maps? I've levelled SH champ in 3.18 using Precise Technique, a 2H axe and the axe mastery to gain rage on hit and it felt pretty good (e.g. Feller of Foes is right next to your pathing), so just curious why you swapped to claws so early. Also curious as to why you haven't gone for cull on the build (e.g. Marked for death on the tree or cull linked to ancestral protector, since there seems to be a free link)? Just trying to learn more about the approach and thought process!
I would put a cull link into protector normally and then take the mark cull node much later. I go claws for speed (whirling blades) and the life on hit. I don’t go precise technique as I don’t really want to path down until much later as want to rush leech nodes and since I go crit from act 6 it’s a few respec nodes I would rather save. It’s just the way I prefer to level no real reason.
Check out havocs deadeye levelling they are pretty good. I’m not sure I would go raider over deadeye for bows +2 arrows and +1 chain is really good for bows. Only skill I would consider for raider would be RoA or Toxic Rain
I did some leveling practice with LA Deadeye and reached maps in 6 hours (maybe you can do better but for me it's pretty good already) by following Havoc's LA leveling video/PoB. You should check it out if you wanna go bow. I didn't start 3.18 with it though because compared to minions it's not easy to keep the damage high after the campaign, you need to know exactly what you're doing, so I usually end up playing a bow build once I cleared the Atlas and have enough currency. BalorMage started LA Deadeye last league then switched the TS all the way to fully juiced Deli maps, you can also check his videos.
@@DamienBaka Yeah I have done a few SSF bow runs following Havocs guide and I got to T16 maps pretty comfortably. I think it is a very good option for speed farming currency but just avoid bossing until you can invest. 6 hours is good that is about what I normally take as hate just rushing through and not being ready for maps
@@FuzzyDuckzy I still think LS is easier to improve/gear up than LA. But I find SH a bit slow since you have to stop to cast it so I might level up with LA and switch to LS later, but not sure since LA is Deadeye and LS is Raider, changing ascendancy early is probably not a good idea. I would just like to avoid going SH.
Yes just 2 damage types to overlap but cold and fire can be tricky to overlap as their damage rolls are quite narrow. If you have high lightning damage you will pretty much always proc trinity
Since we focus on ele dmg himsorrow won’t to much as we will not have much phys damage to convert. I changed the theme as people said it was too bright but no I didn’t do anything specific with divines.
Am I missing something? The PoB doesn't look like it matches your screen at lvl 67, it is quite different. I just came back to PoE after a year and man is this league rough. Never have done LS before, so thought I'd give it a shot.
Do you mean lightning strike + Helix. Spectral Helix and Helix are the same skill. I would recommend always levelling with spectral helix it is just so much better than the other skills
I think that is probably to pad DPS as POE Ninja takes melee damage as the DPS figure. You can use it I do not think it is a bad gem I just do not like the feeling of multistrike. I feel that in mapping you are always moving after striking once so do not get the benefit of the extra swings. It also is not compatible with Vaal LS so you lose a damage link in that. Technically it does not increase your projectile damage, but I suppose in theory it does as you will fire out more I think it is really a personal preference thing as to whether you like the feel of multistrike
If you follow the filter it will automatically pull through any changes I make. It will be updated will anything new in the league the morning of league start
I don't use lightning strike as the main skill in the campaign but if you have a spare 4 link you can use LS to clear. I was using LS, Pierce, ancestral call and ele dmg with attacks
in 3.18 I would say probably champ but in 3.19 I would think Raider since Champ lost easy access to divine blessing so unless you run eldritch battery you are now an aura short unless you want to do some annoying weapon swaps every 10 seconds the nerfs to defiance banner and the increased aura node will also negatively affect the build since most damage came from scaling armour and evasion via perseverance I would think the 2 good options this league would be berserker or Raider. HC Champ will still be viable just less damage. I am biased though
@@saifer21 they can both scale really far but I would think zerker would be bigger dps but it’s a much more active play style and lots more buttons to press and might be more expensive
I have another question. How do you get so many projectiles out of lightning strike when you dont use multi strike support or multiple projectiles support?
@@paulobarrios4345 This guide was from 3.19. Lightning strike was nerfed pretty heavily in 3.20 and they removed a lot of the projectiles. I think to get them now you would need to run a lightning strike extra projectiles enchant and get pierce from glove implicit and a craft on helmet or gloves
You do not really need any more than 2 for most content. I only have 2 and have cleared my Atlas. More obviously feels better but anything over 3 is probably overkill
Yep go champion probably. I think this build could work in hardcore with investment but free fortify on champ is just too good to turn down in hardcore
I used to do splitting steel but that is 2 of your 3 wisdom scrolls gone and means if it offers MS boots you cannot buy them. I also really hate reloading all the shards I always forget :) Either way I always switch to Helix at 12 I just much prefer the playstyle
i want to leagues start with this build but wondering if the new supp gem from kalandra can be implemented in this build , seems ideal with the lightning strike build does have alot of % shock stats on it. With new shock stat supp gem will this gem if implemented for even faster mapping and help with boss fights?
Not sure. You could take the bow wheel instead of the claw wheel and level with Rain of Arrows but it make respeccing a lot more awkard. You could do frostblades but the single target is awful. Nobody likes Helix it is just so much stronger than all the other skills in the campaign
Hard to say with Exalt/Divine Shake up but in my practice run I just did I was killing guardians on a corrupted 6 link, self crafted essence claw and + strike gloves. I would say 2-4 ex/divines would easily have you clearing T14+ maps and killing guardians and the first lot of pinnacle bosses. What I would recommend is crafting stuff yourself as just essence/haravest crafted gear will get you clearing red maps and conqs. The only expensive item will be the +1 gloves and enchanted helmets may be expensive (but you can always take the pierce nodes on the tree) if they are too much
How big of a dmg nerf is this to the build? "Fixed a bug where Lightning Strike could hit a single target twice from one attack." does this litterly half the single target dmg or ? :)
No they worded it quite badly. There was a bug that was quite hard to replicate where you melee could hit once and your projectiles could hit twice. It was not easy to replicate. The double hitting with +1 strike still exists and has been confirmed by the devs

For levelling I would not recommend it. Lightning strike really needs pierce and +1 strike and you do not have easy access to these in the campaign without giving up 2 support gems You are also unlikely to get a Vaal LS gem which reduces your burst damage quite considerably You can play LS from the start but it will not feel good and will add a lot of time to the levelling
No 100% not. I have tried POBing it and on budget gear it is hard to get trickster to work since generating frenzy charges without blood rage is not cheap and you cannot really use blood rage as it will ruin all your energy shield related ascendancies. Trickster looks good for some skills but I think for VLS especially as a league starter raider is miles ahead

I mention if you have 2 x 4 links you can use a secondary lightning strike set up for clear of LS - Pierce - Ancestral Call - any damage gem. I would not rely on it though as you may not be able to fit in a second 4 link and once you go nightblade and crit in act 6/7 you have to abandon it as elusive makes up for the lack of clear speed of helix You could also run a second 4 link of frost blades for clear if you really dislike Helix. then you just use Helix for bossing
You could not take the claw nodes and go two handed sword and splitting steel. will be much squishier as you lose the life gain on hit. Honestly Helix is the way to go and once you get used to it can be very quick to level. The key is to not stand still you just hit and move and let Helix demolish to mobs you leave behind If you are standing in place for more than a second other than on bosses, blue packs, etc you will massively slow down the speed of your progression
It is fairly beginner friendly there are not many easier builds as the skill combined with nightblade is OP. If you want a no brainer build I would look around for minion or totem builds.
@@FuzzyDuckzy you need 6link and other items to start this build,that seems difficult and depends heavily on currency, if bad luck, I gonna stuck with levelling setup for who knows how long
You can either run a rare amulet with crit and ele dmg, yoke of suffering is very good or I think with the boost to the Haste aura an Aul's uprising with Haste could be pretty nice (or Anger and you can then run this for free and add in Grace). I did not run omni last league until very late on so the build will be fine without it
As a total beginner, i was looking for lighting strike ranged raider, but 20 mins in the video and you are still using helix meele skill, thats really wierd for me, so i need to play propably weeks as a boring clunky meele char to get to the main skill this build is all about? Thats a bit wierd for me as a total beginner.
Unfortunately there is maybe 1 or 2 viable early game melee skills because of the way GGG builds melee gems. As a brand new player it might be better to pick another build
Patch note: Fixed a bug where Lightning Strike could hit a single target twice from one attack. -I wonder if this will stop all instances of multiple hits. It could be a big nerf.
Yeah would be just like them to say "we forgot about a balance change in the manifesto" :) I am probably league starting something else for a change of scenery anyway. Although I said that last league too and it did not happen :)

PC Pathfinder looks pretty strong so do not see a reason you could not do that. Will be an expensive respec though

I actually did some testing without gloves and just ancestral call and you can get by in nasty T16 maps so I think you can swap once you get a 6 link

Just make sure your resistances are capped and you are upgrading your gear when you can. When you get your first lab done and get to level 38ish you will be spell suppress capped which makes things a lot better.
Blood rage just gives you frenzy charges so you can attack quicker but it drains your life. It is not need it is more for people that are desperate to do stuff quicker :)

I'll probably start this if the patch notes are LS friendly, since minions are uncertain for me this coming league. Just one question, did I see you using both LS and Helix in Act 4 to 6 or was I dreaming? :)
Yes I use 4 x Normal Lightning Strike for clear: LS - Pierce - Ancestral Call + Any Damage support. I only do this if I have the spare links to do it as you will still need Helix for rares/bosses
I drop this LS set up once I go nightblade set up around act 7 and just go full Helix

@@DamienBaka On another note I am pretty sure minions are going to be fine they will just be built differently and there are now more class options. I do not know as I am not a minion player but lots of the big minion players seem to be coming round to the idea that actually the changes are not that bad. I guess we need to wait to see exactly what this new minion gear is like and new uniques
@@FuzzyDuckzy Probably yeah, I think that if minions were hit too hard, a relatively big part of the community would just quit the game. But, it's my excuse to finally start with something different than minions, LS has been calling me since 3.17 so I think it's time. Plus I really like the Raider ascendancy. Elemental ailments immunity, max spell suppression, decent armour are things I consider mandatory these days.

Question. - how is LS or more to the point spectral helix for endless heists? Since we only transition to ls later lavels Did you try?
Helix is pretty good for heist as are most skills on Raider, but if you wanted to spend like a day in heist a bow build might be better. I farmed Heist last league for 3-4 hours on Helix before ending the campaign as wanted to get 300-400 chaos together to get my build strong from the start of maps. Elusive keeps you safe and quick and Helix has pretty good coverage in the small spaces in heist.
If you go heisting for a long time I would probably change the ascendancy to Quartz infusion, Rapid assault + Avatar of the chase and take Graceful assault on the tree. then use blood rage for frenzies. You can always respec with the mountain of regret orbs you will farm. This will make you super zoomy and mean you can complete a lot more heists per hour

Thanks for the great guide! How do you handle running Anger, Precision, and Determination without getting the Determination efficiency on your updated POB? I only have 65 mana unreserved. I have the precision 100% efficiency and Charisma.
Have you taken primal spirit node. I take this node as it gives a lot of mana and STR + INT

@@D4rkDust what level are you? If you have taken primal spirit node and the precision reservation node you should be fine once you hit late 80s. However if you are trying to put level 20 gems on a level 70 character you will struggle for mana as you get more mana with levels
You can always run a slightly lower precision if you are still levelling up

I was just confused because in the video at 12:28 you said that you took Anger, Precision and Determination right after you got those two nodes and i don't have enough mana for it right now. But i guess i will just stop leveling the gems and wait until i have enough mana then. Sorry if this was a dumb question, i'm an absolute beginner at this game :D
@@D4rkDust You should be fine it you have: Charisma, Primal Spirit, 100% Precision reservation. 65 Unreserved mana sounds about right at this stage and should still be fine if you run inspiration in your main links and have mark on hit joined up to life tap.
Great video as always, and appreciate the work you put into this build over the last few leagues. I was thinking of trying maybe a bow Raider this league, but SH --> LS to farm up currency is probably going to be my go to again with a swap later, since my bow levelling practice runs have felt really clunky (TR, RoA, LS, CA).
A quick question if you don't mind, how come you're not using precise technique for the campaign / early maps? I've levelled SH champ in 3.18 using Precise Technique, a 2H axe and the axe mastery to gain rage on hit and it felt pretty good (e.g. Feller of Foes is right next to your pathing), so just curious why you swapped to claws so early. Also curious as to why you haven't gone for cull on the build (e.g. Marked for death on the tree or cull linked to ancestral protector, since there seems to be a free link)? Just trying to learn more about the approach and thought process!
I would put a cull link into protector normally and then take the mark cull node much later. I go claws for speed (whirling blades) and the life on hit. I don’t go precise technique as I don’t really want to path down until much later as want to rush leech nodes and since I go crit from act 6 it’s a few respec nodes I would rather save. It’s just the way I prefer to level no real reason.
Check out havocs deadeye levelling they are pretty good. I’m not sure I would go raider over deadeye for bows +2 arrows and +1 chain is really good for bows. Only skill I would consider for raider would be RoA or Toxic Rain
I did some leveling practice with LA Deadeye and reached maps in 6 hours (maybe you can do better but for me it's pretty good already) by following Havoc's LA leveling video/PoB. You should check it out if you wanna go bow. I didn't start 3.18 with it though because compared to minions it's not easy to keep the damage high after the campaign, you need to know exactly what you're doing, so I usually end up playing a bow build once I cleared the Atlas and have enough currency. BalorMage started LA Deadeye last league then switched the TS all the way to fully juiced Deli maps, you can also check his videos.
@@DamienBaka Yeah I have done a few SSF bow runs following Havocs guide and I got to T16 maps pretty comfortably. I think it is a very good option for speed farming currency but just avoid bossing until you can invest. 6 hours is good that is about what I normally take as hate just rushing through and not being ready for maps
@@FuzzyDuckzy I still think LS is easier to improve/gear up than LA. But I find SH a bit slow since you have to stop to cast it so I might level up with LA and switch to LS later, but not sure since LA is Deadeye and LS is Raider, changing ascendancy early is probably not a good idea. I would just like to avoid going SH.

Yes just 2 damage types to overlap but cold and fire can be tricky to overlap as their damage rolls are quite narrow. If you have high lightning damage you will pretty much always proc trinity
you could also include culling strike on the ancestral protector, its a huge boon isn't it?

Probably a dumb question (I probably missed something) but we pick up dagger nodes for night blade but we use claws and it has me confused 🤔
Yeah it works for claws too. Even though we do not get the dagger damage bonuses these nodes are huge as it scales crit multi up by a big amount

Since we focus on ele dmg himsorrow won’t to much as we will not have much phys damage to convert. I changed the theme as people said it was too bright but no I didn’t do anything specific with divines.
Am I missing something? The PoB doesn't look like it matches your screen at lvl 67, it is quite different. I just came back to PoE after a year and man is this league rough. Never have done LS before, so thought I'd give it a shot.
It doesn't. After I bought the guide I out a did another test run and found a much better tree. Use the POB

Vaal lightning strike has 2 parts to the gem normal and Vaal. The Vaal needs souls but you can also use the normal lightning strike from the same gem

Do you mean lightning strike + Helix. Spectral Helix and Helix are the same skill. I would recommend always levelling with spectral helix it is just so much better than the other skills

Quick question - I'm seeing on poeninja that the top tier folks in SSF Sentinel are using Multistrike in their six link. Thoughts on that?
I think that is probably to pad DPS as POE Ninja takes melee damage as the DPS figure. You can use it I do not think it is a bad gem I just do not like the feeling of multistrike. I feel that in mapping you are always moving after striking once so do not get the benefit of the extra swings.
It also is not compatible with Vaal LS so you lose a damage link in that. Technically it does not increase your projectile damage, but I suppose in theory it does as you will fire out more
I think it is really a personal preference thing as to whether you like the feel of multistrike

It's just a 2 link and will automatically mark rare and unique enemies when you hit them. Just make sure you have enough mana as it uses a lot

I don't use lightning strike as the main skill in the campaign but if you have a spare 4 link you can use LS to clear. I was using LS, Pierce, ancestral call and ele dmg with attacks
in late game what class is better champion LS or Raider LS?
in 3.18 I would say probably champ but in 3.19 I would think Raider since Champ lost easy access to divine blessing so unless you run eldritch battery you are now an aura short unless you want to do some annoying weapon swaps every 10 seconds
the nerfs to defiance banner and the increased aura node will also negatively affect the build since most damage came from scaling armour and evasion via perseverance
I would think the 2 good options this league would be berserker or Raider. HC Champ will still be viable just less damage. I am biased though

You can always take the 3 pierce on the tree until you get a helmet

All Vaal skills need souls. You spam the normal skill and use the Vaal skill when you need more dps

@@paulobarrios4345 This guide was from 3.19. Lightning strike was nerfed pretty heavily in 3.20 and they removed a lot of the projectiles. I think to get them now you would need to run a lightning strike extra projectiles enchant and get pierce from glove implicit and a craft on helmet or gloves

You take the ele mastery for 60% reduced reflected ele damage taken and Soul of Yugul Pantheon

You do not really need any more than 2 for most content. I only have 2 and have cleared my Atlas. More obviously feels better but anything over 3 is probably overkill

Yep go champion probably. I think this build could work in hardcore with investment but free fortify on champ is just too good to turn down in hardcore

I do galvanic arrow until you get Helix. Then Helix is just much better since you do not want to take any bow nodes
I used to do splitting steel but that is 2 of your 3 wisdom scrolls gone and means if it offers MS boots you cannot buy them.
I also really hate reloading all the shards I always forget :) Either way I always switch to Helix at 12 I just much prefer the playstyle

i want to leagues start with this build but wondering if the new supp gem from kalandra can be implemented in this build , seems ideal with the lightning strike build does have alot of % shock stats on it. With new shock stat supp gem will this gem if implemented for even faster mapping and help with boss fights?
Hard to say at the moment as we do not have full gem details. I think this is probably not going to be known until people test it in game

Not sure. You could take the bow wheel instead of the claw wheel and level with Rain of Arrows but it make respeccing a lot more awkard. You could do frostblades but the single target is awful. Nobody likes Helix it is just so much stronger than all the other skills in the campaign
What's a rough estimate of required currency to get this build to comfortably doing rare map guardians and the first tier of end game bosses?
Hard to say with Exalt/Divine Shake up but in my practice run I just did I was killing guardians on a corrupted 6 link, self crafted essence claw and + strike gloves. I would say 2-4 ex/divines would easily have you clearing T14+ maps and killing guardians and the first lot of pinnacle bosses. What I would recommend is crafting stuff yourself as just essence/haravest crafted gear will get you clearing red maps and conqs. The only expensive item will be the +1 gloves and enchanted helmets may be expensive (but you can always take the pierce nodes on the tree) if they are too much

No they worded it quite badly. There was a bug that was quite hard to replicate where you melee could hit once and your projectiles could hit twice. It was not easy to replicate. The double hitting with +1 strike still exists and has been confirmed by the devs

For levelling I would not recommend it. Lightning strike really needs pierce and +1 strike and you do not have easy access to these in the campaign without giving up 2 support gems
You are also unlikely to get a Vaal LS gem which reduces your burst damage quite considerably
You can play LS from the start but it will not feel good and will add a lot of time to the levelling

No 100% not. I have tried POBing it and on budget gear it is hard to get trickster to work since generating frenzy charges without blood rage is not cheap and you cannot really use blood rage as it will ruin all your energy shield related ascendancies. Trickster looks good for some skills but I think for VLS especially as a league starter raider is miles ahead

Yes auras are the same. You may have to keep your precision lower before you level into the 80s

I mention if you have 2 x 4 links you can use a secondary lightning strike set up for clear of LS - Pierce - Ancestral Call - any damage gem. I would not rely on it though as you may not be able to fit in a second 4 link and once you go nightblade and crit in act 6/7 you have to abandon it as elusive makes up for the lack of clear speed of helix
You could also run a second 4 link of frost blades for clear if you really dislike Helix. then you just use Helix for bossing

You could not take the claw nodes and go two handed sword and splitting steel. will be much squishier as you lose the life gain on hit.
Honestly Helix is the way to go and once you get used to it can be very quick to level. The key is to not stand still you just hit and move and let Helix demolish to mobs you leave behind
If you are standing in place for more than a second other than on bosses, blue packs, etc you will massively slow down the speed of your progression

It is fairly beginner friendly there are not many easier builds as the skill combined with nightblade is OP. If you want a no brainer build I would look around for minion or totem builds.

What about amulet after Omni nerf?
You can either run a rare amulet with crit and ele dmg, yoke of suffering is very good or I think with the boost to the Haste aura an Aul's uprising with Haste could be pretty nice (or Anger and you can then run this for free and add in Grace).
I did not run omni last league until very late on so the build will be fine without it
As a total beginner, i was looking for lighting strike ranged raider, but 20 mins in the video and you are still using helix meele skill, thats really wierd for me, so i need to play propably weeks as a boring clunky meele char to get to the main skill this build is all about? Thats a bit wierd for me as a total beginner.
Unfortunately there is maybe 1 or 2 viable early game melee skills because of the way GGG builds melee gems. As a brand new player it might be better to pick another build

No it’s referring to a bug where in very specific times you could triple hit. +1 strike interaction still exists according to the devs
