They look about M5? Are they 5mm? I am looking to install a bent wire eye bolt of 8mm diameter, so it would be good to know what these were to compare. Thanks

Incorrect, Crosby shoulder eye bolts are rated for pulling at 90 degrees from center. (ONLY CROSBY)

It is true that Crosby gives a rating of 25% of the in-line pull capacity for their eyebolts for a 90° pull, but across most manufacturers, the ratings stop at 45°. While we speak with some generalities on these videos to cover a wide range of possibilities, knowing the manufacturer of your hardware and consulting their documentation is always recommended.

Actually asme b30.26 requires shouldered eye bolts to retain 25% wll at 90* and all hardware used for rigging in north america must meet asme b30.26 so...
