    Hey mate. First of all, I just want to thank you, your videos are insanely helpful in understanding PPL literature I've got.
    One thing about converting speed from knots to meters per second.
    I think we all know that 1 kt = 1,852 km/h.
    To convert km/h into m/s, we simply need to divide them by 3.6.
    So, in short:
    130 kt * 1,852 = 240.76 km/h
    240.76 : 3.6 = 66.9 m/s
    It seems to me that it is much easier this way. I hope it will be of help to someone!

    Amazing content,really helpful for ATPL studies, keep it up :) Could you please not add ambient music or just make it a bit quieter? It would help to focus more.

    • @brissone
      @brissone 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes or maybe just delete the ambient music

      My harddrive wiped out all the original edits at the end of last year so unfortunately I can't edit the volume of the music. I have listened to feedback and the new videos have very low or no background music at all.

    Great again. Im doing the PPL training but math is way back for me so this helps a lot. In my flight training they told me that to convert Speed kn to m/s you can do Speed * 0,514 to get it directly. Easier I think. So 130kn/h * 0,514=66,82m/s

    For the unit conversion from knot to M/S
    First nm to m
    130x1852=240760 m/h
    The divide be 60 two times or 3600
    Get 66.87 m/s

    • @atplclass
      @atplclass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly

    • @theopurkis
      @theopurkis ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Can’t you just multiply by 0.514

  • @zakmartin18
    @zakmartin18 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    To work out m/s from knots as well you can just times knots by 0.5144, so 130 kts x 0.5144 = 66.872 (67m/s)

    Not so accurate conversion, but for brief colculation I prefer to devide by 2 . 130 devide 2 = 65 m/s

    can you not just time the 130knots by 0.514 which is the conversion unit to M/S which is still 66.8
