Hey Corry I'm in the process of renovating a MPC2000XL too. I recently got a 2000xl that needed a new sensor sheet and a CF drive to replace the floppy disk drive. Unfortunately my friend gave me a zip drive to upload the latest OS and I didn't check that it was working because I didn't have the plug connection when I picked it up from him so I have had to send for a floppy disk with the OS. My friend owes me. Hopefully I should get it this week so I can upload the OS and change the drive. .
I had a Akai s20 also. my very first drum machine a Roland TR 505 which used AA batteries so I would be outside with it a lot. then I got a Roland R5 and a R8MK2 which I was on for a long time until I got a 2000xl.
Question for BIGBOY TECH. I have a MPC 2000XL I did some work on the jog wheel had to creat a new trace because the traces came off fixed it what ever jog wheel works great, now I have another issue where when you hit Shift F5 and you get the record screen up and you have to use the F keys to ether press PEAK RESET or RECORD . First issue the peak levels are like this ⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹ and I cannot clear it nor will it let me record . What in the mother fucking hell is the issue . If you could shine some light I’d appreciate it because my patience are up. Also when I took it apart I noticed D400 diode had some issues it looked like but the F buttons all work fine so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it . Thanks
That my friend is why I will keep my stance with the Pre DAW MPC's over the iPad series lol. Bro I opened the Live MK1 to put in white pads it was a nightmare. Try replacing the screen on any of these new joints I'm not sure if you could even get the part.
Yo not sure if you know about but I tried to tell you on the ASR 10 show don't sleep on the never talked about MFC42 Filter made for the 2000XL. it's like S950 filter who type ish!!

BluBuddha Beats oh I am well aware of the mfc42 my bro. Ever since it came out and it had the brackets to attach to the mpc.
