But old house , good land, electricity ( now solar) unlimited water as we put a bore down. I couldn’t imagine how difficult it will be for you. You showed a little lemon tree with fruit on it. You should pull all fruit off young trees. As very hard as it is to do , your trees will grow much faster and produce a crop 10x bigger on the second year. Good luck I think you are going to need it.

Great progress! Trees are looking strong. I am glad you mentioned the plan to create berms. I would suggest swales, Geoff Lawton style. Might take some more time and energy but they will pay off in the long run. Looking forward to your next video.
@@EJCFBasel to be fair, I believe that a excavator was used to make a trench of half meter deep (from the rocks in the berms) where the tree were planted. Also, the rock look like soft calcite or maybe gypsum, you don't need a lot of force to break those. so, in a way she already made swales, but put the trees in the underlevel instead of the downwards of the berm, which can lead to trees dying in winter because of water logging, but unlikely because of the (apparent) permeability of the soil/rock combination here and the berms. suboptimal, but probably ok.... the avocados will die if the berms create bogs, as their root are really sensible to low oxygen conditions. as a fellow who lives in another Mediterranean place, the (historic precipitations) event that create the problems for the avocados could take a lot of time, or none at all.

Would you tell me what system you used to get that image? I had a hell of a time trying to find the contour lines on my property and they are by no means as detailed as yours. Hi Harriet, nice to know of more projects on the island! My architect got these detailed maps for me. They are quite useful. But there is an easy way of finding your key lines: with the use of an A-frame. I just used this to plan a garden for another property and it works very well. You find videos on how to use it on youtube.

They are known as water hogs because they evolved in fresh water swamps in Central America. Maybe in a future video you can explain why you chose to do this in Mallorca and not in your native country, Switzerland.

And in Switzerland it would be definitely to cold for them! 😅 or do you mean why I choose mallorca instead of switzerland in the first place? That's a good question for another video!

I wonder if anyone grows Cassava over there in Mallorca... It grows in dry climates, don't worry. Also its said to improve soil. Its called Yuca in Spanish, plenty of carbs. I would also try sweet potato (batata or camote), Yacon, Racacha.
"tech geek" here, You will be soon changing your solar system :). Unfortunatelly that is not well designed system. Because of that pwm charge controller and voltage quite far from battery voltage, you will be able to get almost only half of power from your solar panels. If those panels were for free and budget tight, its ok, otherwise its overpayed and kinda bad. FYI if you use electrical power tools, and use max power from your setup(3000W), it will be drained in 2hours, but needs like 2 days to be recharged.

If we stopped producing this things which are not required for humans, so much pollution could be reduced. If we colour the clothes pollution occurs. So if we don't colour our clothes, the pollution resulting from colouring the clothes can be stopped. Let everything remain in natural colour. 2. We Should Cook Foods In Its Natural Form We can cook rice and wheat in our homes and eat it. Rice and Wheat is produced in farms. Then it is packed and transported to big warehouses, then wholesalers buy from them and supply to retail shops. But if a manufacturing company makes bread from rice and wheat, then to make bread a manufacturing company has to be set up, machines and working staffs are needed. When a company is built many other things are also needed. Then at last a plastic pack is required to pack the breads. So if we start cooking eatable things in its natural form then we do not need many companies like bread manufacturing company, tomato ketchup, noodles, fruit jam, pizza, burger, etc., the things required for the company and the plastic pack, paper box pack and glass bottles. If done like this, so many companies will not be required and hence less pollution for the world. Also we could save our money like this. If you buy a packet of bread, it would cost you more money than if you cook wheat and rice in home. Previously before industrial revolution, we didn't have technology, but our foods were rich with nutrients. Now we have technology, but technology is polluting our foods and our foods are not rich with nutrients, and because of that also we have health problems. If this is done, then many jobs would be lost. For that many peoples should do farming and they should be given loans if they do not have enough money to start farming on their own. Food, Medicines, Surgeries and Education's should be made free to the world till the world settles down with farming. After that food, medicines, surgeries and education's should be stopped free to the world. Many people should study botany subject so that they have knowledge of plants and they should do farming. Is their any another solution, that humans won't lose jobs and also pollution would decrease. Mexican varieties of avocado trees will tolerate colder temperatures and higher salinity water.
