I know the point of hitting the Rev limiter in the air is to get power as soon as you land , but that often? Is this normal and doesn't it hurt the engine more than not ? I can only imagine he wanted to win this race , is this kind of revving the engine this normal for all riders ?
sertone777 watch a kid who has to be responsible for their own materials and see how they ride. It’s still fast but a lot more conservative on the rev limiter. I find being practical on the limiter is just as fast if not faster in the long run compared to ringing the bike out for a prolonged time in the air.
If it was a 250 Kawasaki two-stroke like the owner of the track used to race here namely Gene Ramsey he did this all the time as it was me who was chasing him all the time trying to pass as we all did it on two strokes years ago when racing motocross was fun
Watch and listen today at the Lucas Oil Indoor Stadium in Indianapolis as they hold them wfo. It's not so much as the valves but sooner or later you will throw the cam chain through the block and that will be the end of your toy as it will be worthless as a trade in and will cost about five thousand bucks for a new engine that the same money will buy many many two strokes that are way more powerful and two strokes have no intake or exhaust valves and no camshaft and no valve springs to float a new valves that they don't have in the first place but only three moving Parts the Piston the rod and the crankshaft and holding it wide open all day long if you know how to tune them properly like I was shown how to do by none other than pop Yoshimura at Honda School that can easily be done f o o l proof
