    2 weeks ago, when I was choosing components for my future pc, at the first I wanted GTX 1060, but on the next day I saw in the YT that 1660ti is released. I canceled my 1060 and ordered 1660ti. It is so good card for 2019. I tested out a lot of games and it was the best decision in my life.

    I just feel like the 25% performance upgrade isn't worth spending $300 on the 1660ti. The 1060 runs all games greatly at 1080p. The game I had the worst performance in was Metro Exodus which I got 50-90fps on medium settings and the game still looks great. I would say wait until new games are just too demanding which should be 2 years because the recommended gpu for new-newish games is a 1060. I would be happy to buy a RTX 4060 for a 80%-120% performance increase for $300 in 2023.

    1660 Ti may be a card worth getting, but it is not worth the price difference if you already own a 1060 6GB, which is what this video is about. For the loss you'd make selling your 1060 6GB and buying the 1660 Ti, it is not worth the difference in quality. Sure the FPS is technically higher according to this, but I personally couldn't tell the difference flicking my attention back and forth. I guess I'll be staying with my Asus GTX 1060 6GB Dual until the 2060 drops to a reasonable price and instead focus on a change to Ryzen.

    • @TeurastajaNexus
      @TeurastajaNexus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wait for the RTX prices to drop. RTX 2060 doesn't even perform well with the RTX on. I'm going for the GTX 1660 Ti and maybe in a few years I'll switch to RTX if they have developed and improved that technology further.

  • @Gamingcs11692

    These test can be altered easy when you don't get to actually see the game setting in then actually going into the game before all of the editing. According to this video as well as some promoters here on TH-cam the 1660 Ti is a better card but to be honest it's not worth moving from the 1060 6GB it's just not that much of a major difference.

    • @Timo_Tech
      @Timo_Tech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they say it's usually not worth the price to jump every gen. But going from say a 960 would be a huge jump in performance.

    Do you think it's better to upgrade to a gtx 1060 or a gtx 1660ti from gtx 960 if I only want to play bannerlord and modded skyrim/fallout 4 on 1080p?

      Well none itx 1660ti costs 325 and 2060 at 365 while 1060 costs 160 and 1160 around 230 in my country, so only want either 1060 or 1660.
      I didn't really enjoy TW3 due to gameplay and story. After playing spiderman and RDR2 I found all three of them got the same protagonist - bad mouthed wronged guy who kinda has good intention. (movies like deadpool and the new pikachu are pretty much the same personalities too)

    Showing one of the best aftermarket cooling solution for 1060 6GB as a competitor to one of the most shitty GPU coolers on the market for 1660ti. How about you compare Gaming X to a Gaming card for 1060 as you should in the first place? yea.. I thought so. While 1060 6GB cost around 280$ for an MSI Gaming, 1660ti Gaming Z costs whooping 330$. Not so good anymore huh? If you're gonna make comparisons, make sure first which card you comparing.

    • @Timo_Tech
      @Timo_Tech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure I understand your comment. You're saying that I compared one of the best cooling solutions on a 1060 and one of the worst on a 1660 Ti? Yet the 1660 Ti ran cooler.... Which would make it a good comparison if the "shitty GPU cooler" is doing better. (Also it was slim pickings on launch day )

    • @Belfor09
      @Belfor09 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Timo_Tech My comment was about the 6:46 mark, when you showed an MSI gaming 1060 6GB @280$ comparing that to a 1660ti MSI Ventus for about 280$ as well. My point was that in order to have fair comparison you'd have to compare similar cooling solution. Like MSI Gaming to MSI Gaming. These are the best coolings from MSI and 1660ti MSI Gaming is 330$ right now. But you tested the Gigabyte one, which you can purchase for as low as 210$ right now. So it's not the same price. It's not even close. Oh and by the way... You can use replay system in Fortnite to show the exact same spot on whatever hardware you will test. It's really handy and it avoids any differences in multiplayer!

    • @Timo_Tech
      @Timo_Tech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Belfor09 Ok now that makes sense, I tested the Gigabyte as that was the only 1060 I had access to but I was more interested in comparing the chips and not cooling. While the MSI Gaming 1060 would have better cooling it's not like it was have gave 10 more FPS over that Gigabyte. Sad story about that Gigabyte 1060 it was bought less than a year ago for $350 on new egg and was the cheapest one at the time :( Also Totally going to look into the replay system!
