Oh my gosh, the light my hubby has for that did not work on ours! I was shocked! I've ordered a new light tho, so hopefully soon we can finish our projects! 😆
Because I don't have the proper light for it I've been using my other resins with the molds. I think it's cool that in the newer projects they give you a reusable mold so you can make as many as you want with your own resin
There definitely are flowers and plants with thick fuzzy stems, The sweater on the teapot is called a Tea Cozy, and the green teapot is s replica of Carnival Glass which is really interesting! You can easily go thru a wormhole about all the different styles, where that pattern was from. These actually are given out at carnivals and prizes. The most popular is a green one glows under uv light and looks a bit like Absinthe.
They made the resin too opaque so that's probably why it didn't bond to the handles. Which is a shame. They should have included a small bit of glue instead of using uv resin. I know you like your little UV light, but the Let's Resin double sided uv light is the bomb! It cures both sides at the same time! I love it. I use it for all my small uv mods.
I too have been having a lot of trouble with curing things in the new miniverse stuff. I saw a lot of comments about using a different light, and decided to give it a shot. It totally works better! I'm glad because there's so many I want to try making!
In general the resin isnt great but a hard, strong uv light helps too.. the little nail light has given many good hours but may not be qualified for the job
You put the water in the kettle to heat and then pour the hot water into the teapot with the tea. The clothes is known as a tea cozy. It is usually cloth or yarn and is there to keep the tea warm.
The silicon thing is a tea-cosy. They are pretty common in the uk, they are usually knitted or crocheted. They are supposed to both insulate the tea pot to keep it warmer for longer and make it safer to pick up without burning yourself.
The cloth around the kettle is likely trying to represent a crochet or knit cover to protect the kettle from dust/ help it keep the temps as well as decoration ❤
I have a very strong UV lamp. I purchased the new MGA LotR mini verse stuff. It was a DISASTER. The molds are too thick to allow for proper penetration of the UV light. Not to mention getting those tiny swords/daggers/axes out of the molds was a nightmare. I appreciate that the molds were very well made and very detailed, but they just don't work at this scale.
Thank you for all your hard work jackie, i grew up watching your videos. and even now i cant fall asleep without watching one of your videos, you are amazing!! continue to inspire and do what you do!! much love❤
Resin artist here, babe you need a stronger light (higher wattage) I know this is what they say to use but clearly they lie. Please please never rouch uncured resin xoxoxox
@@EphemeralFairyQueenI have to weigh in, because I have made one of these teapots. It does cure in the sun. It takes at least a full day or two of direct sunlight, but it definitely does cure. Ive started using left over resins to make even more, and wing the handles, works out pretty well, too! These molds require A LOT more time, but they do work. I'm sure the instructions lie, I do not read or rely on them, which is unfortunate
My favourites were the coral seashell and the colourful gradient vase. I love the colourful gradient vase. All the colours together look so good blended into one vase.
I'm trying to get the sandworm, but sad they didn't add a few other Beetlejuice items - they could've done the wedding cake, shrimp cocktail, Delia's sculptures, etc...
The cat cups reminded me of this really cute cup, saucer, and spoon set I found online where the saucer has a notch in it so it can sit on top of your cup to keep your drink warm with the spoon still in it.
I'm really surprised at how much trouble you had hardening the resin in the vase. I have made several of them, and the teapots and cups and didn't have any trouble curing them with my uv light. The only trouble I had was with the candle molds, those needed a lot of time under the light.
I'm honestly glad to see you struggled with the jade tea pot too my friend and I got that and we struggled and thought it was us. Yours did turn out better tho
Im not 100% sure but I think the plastic tray is supposed to help kinda refract the light around the molds. I used it when I made the kitty teapot (the same one you got) and it came out nice. I did also use bright Arizona sunlight and left it for a little longer than the directions say so maybe that was it
You should tru getting a good quality UV flashlight. I used to use one of those UV lights you use for my UV resin and sometimes it took forever! but this new one I got hardens it in seconds and I am never going back xD The one I used to use is normally for uv nailgel so they harden slower so it doesnt get too hot.
Hi Jackie. The first cat teapot you made looks strange. It has two faces. The face on the lid, and the one on the sweater. It would look better if they didn't put a face on the sweater. Otherwise, it's a cute idea. A clearer mold would help too. I don't know why they would make them so opaque. The green one is absolutely gorgeous!
I usually use the regular 2-part resin with these molds. I wish the kits came with molds to make the handles and spouts and lids so you dont have to make your own if you want more teapots
6:10 I wasn't looking and I swear I heard Jackie say "planter butts." I did a double take and had to go back to see if somehow, someone had green lit tiny planters with little butts on them! Also I would love to see you try using your own UV resin and try to match the dark color of the teapot. I'm wondering if it was a combination of the dark color + the resin change, maybe it just needed more time to fully set up? I'm thinking it probably was just too dark in color though. As a lover of orange, I gotta say that looks like a very nice orange they picked!
I got the mushrooms and the planters and I struggled so much with curing them! I left them in the California sun for a few hours 😅that seemed to help but there was still a kind of sticky residue on one of my planters 🫤
I was surprised at the silicone tea cozy! LOL When I looked at this set I didn't realize it was there. I got REALLY LUCKY. I bought ONE, hoping it would be the black cat cup set and it was!!! So, the cup set is essentially the same set up as the tea pots, PITA to try and get the handles on. I actually kept the items that were one use so I can make molds of them. :D I have to say that I am hopelessly addicted to these Mini Brand sets. I've been upcycling the cases they come in with art projects so its a win win!
These are more for adults I'm glad they moved away from kids toys to something that should be in the craft section for adults. Now they can make them more craft project like I with an age recommendation
@florencetheunicorn I always thought the uv resin was crazy to be in a kids toy but I think they were worried if they didn't target kids. Being they are really a kids toy brand. Kinda messed up experimental thing they did there. But I'm glad they seen there is a huge adult crafting market that love this stuff. I love the idea of a more detailed time consuming project with what they had going on. Only concern is with the added mold and stickers they are going to be much more expensive. Now my next critic is they need to take out thr blind box element out of it. Thats something for other items. For this I'm not trying to get things I don't want. I don't want the element of surprise if the price goes up
@lonnibaird8018 that need to change that. I was thinking they just need to move ot to the craft section thry wouldn't lose money but these things are probably in toy stores which I don't think there is a craft section or adult only section. I guess thry probably would lose money if they did the right thing. Which is remove it as a toy. Because I think most people buying these are aware of the resin but it's not everyone. It's dangerous. Some parents or especially older family members shopping for gifts can get this as a gift and thr parents may. It know what it is and that resin could fall into the hands of a small child. Man the more I think about this I dont know how there is no lawsuits. I don't want for this to he a thing where it's not sold I want it to be available and do good so they continue to keep coming up with new items but I really think it's a matter of time a child gets hurt and these are banned all the way around. I used my meltable gel casting stuff (composimold) to make a lid for my jade pot that matches the pearly finish. The spout is next on my list, I think I can live with the handle being non pearly. I did find the resin in these took TIME to cure. I actually left them in a window on a small tin lid for a whole day to be extra sure. Next batch I make, cause how can you not make more when you have a mold, I'm going to try layers.
Great vid as always, Jackie! FYI, for those who follow this channel and enjoy the miniverse brand, the appliances are re-stocked on Amazon for those of you who missed it the first time, or who simply want some extras. I was too late to the party before, but I got nice and stocked up this go-round, yay! Thanks for turning me on to miniverse, Jackie...I love you, but you breaka mah wallet's heart.
I just realized that weird silicone cover is a tea cozy. If I remember right they're little things that go over your tea pot to help keep it warm. Kind of like a sweater for your tea pot.
I want the rose colored teapot and teacups, the tabby tea pot and cups (also the calico are adorable too) the regular mushroom candles and maybe those seashell vases
What I would do with the gold dust one: I would coat the other bits with my nail gel chrome top coat, then rub the powder on it, then coat the whole thing with my top coat.
For some of these resin projects, if you find the best method using that little standup lamp, I’d maybe use a sheet of tin foil over the top to help reflect the light!! You could even set the item and light on a longer piece and wrap it up and over so it reflects more underneath a bit. Still important to flip the piece around a fair bit, but tin foil helps!!
I love this series. I haven’t had a problem with the resin so far, but I also make sure I cure them under a light for a lot longer than needed and rotate them regularly making sure the light hits every side, too and bottom of the mold too. I’m just disappointed you only get enough handles for 2 cups, but the resin definitely makes 4. If you can make a mold of the handles you have a way to make as many as you like that way. I ended up making a third remix with “coffee and cream” and it looks great.
Jackieeeee it's not a silicone teapot dress! 😂 It's called a tea cozy, and they can be made of all sorts of fabrics (eg: crochet, quilted fabric). They're to keep your tea hot. ❤
Hey Jackie, I'd love to see if you could make your own mold with these to be able to make more pieces from it. Maybe even try to come up with an alternative to the little stickers too. Might be kind of fun to try multiple ways of making it.
it happens with a lot of things they claim "UV resin molds" in general (not only Miniverse) : as soon as the resin isn't transclucent enough, it will not cure. I still like the fact you have reusable molds for other kinds of resin thought, I just wish they would propose the possibility to buy the extra parts aside, so you can make more of your little tea pots and stuff !
I dont get why the dont add pippettes to these ones. The LotR ones come with tubers/pippetes to get the resin into the bottom of the mold without bubbles, why not these??
I like both tea pots and I also like the vase, but I don’t know if I could do it cause I can’t see what you’re doing, but it was fun to watch 33:372:43 AM
Its really hard to cure the resin inside the pot fully while in the mold so I’d suggest curing it until its hard then removing it from the mold to finish curing.
I remember I got one of their desert sets that had a resin key lime pie. I set it in a window that gets a decent amount of light and left it there for like a week, having forgotten about it. the rubber pie crust they had was very opaque, but the resin was translucent enough. That being said, after that week, it *still* wasn't fully cured until i took a UV light to it. When you mention putting these in really good sunlight for an hour, I'm still not sure that's going to be enough. but definitely the ten to fifteen minutes they list isn't going to be enough.
@@cathyhogue3693 not a glass window, no. It’s one with a screen in and it was during summer where we kept it open 24/7 on the side that gets the most light.
@@votederpycausemufins The UV rays probably aren't very strong where you live. I've seen people discussing this and it seems to depend on location, like areas where UV is often high (Texas for example) don't have any trouble curing this resin, but low UV areas report it never cures.
I use a UV/LED nail lamp that i have and can say some of the kits either have bad resin, or the molds have been the issue. A second cure under water helped everything finish curing the sticky bits
@psychotophatcat Yes. It's a technique a lot of resin crafters have used for quite a while. If that top layer is sill tacky, you put it in a bowl of water and then cure it again. I don't know the exact science behind it, but it works very well to fix the tacky layer.
Just an observation steeped in no experience whatsoever, but it seems like it might have been easier to put the kettle sweater on first and then just super glue the handle and tail onto the first project. I imagine it would have gone on easier without those pieces in the way. Love you, Jackie. Been watching your videos a lot lately to fall asleep to. Thank you for making my nights entertaining.
I can confirm at least to make it mini oven will not fully cure the new resins. You still have to put it in the sun. I don't know if the newer lights work but at least I know to make it mini ( older) oven does not

The flowers they gave you in the vase kit are anemones/poppies. Their stems are indeed fuzzy IRL
The yellow ball ones are Craspedia/Billy balls
You are right. I was looking for this comment. There are quite a few flowers and plants that feel super fuzzy, like lamb’s ear.
I do like the shell flower pot. That would be pretty with different color resin. 🎉
'Kettle and teapots are the same', really, Jackie? Right in front of my Yorkshire tea.
I just realized that weird silicone cover is a tea cozy.
If I remember right they're little things that go over your tea pot to help keep it warm. Kind of like a sweater for your tea pot.
for the cat teapot, that's called a tea cozy! they are meant to keep the tea inside the pot warm for longer!
I think the little cover for the teapot 🫖 is a kettle cozy…my great grandmother used to crochet them
It's a tea cozy. It keeps the pot warm so the tea stays hot.
I also had a cat teacup, and I finally used a TINY drop of hot glue to keep the handle and spout on.
I love the one that you made Jackie. It was really pretty.
I love that they gave you a tea cosy!! So so cute!
I definitely cured them for WAY longer than any other set. Even an hour for the last one
@@nerdecrafter that is so bizarre! Maybe a the different stronger light will make a difference for you.
New branches of sumach feels like velvet, they have tiny hair/fur so its a fluffy plant
Hi Jackie it is not a kettle it is called tea pot and the rubber sleeve called tea cozy to keep heat in.😎
One of my favorite plants is called Lamb's ear. it is very soft to the touch.
I have never done any resin crafting, but I look forward to trying it when I have more time and space to do so! I love your videos, Jackie!
Ahh shout out nerde ahhh binging your videos as an adult who doesn’t want to buy toys but you can
Jackieeeee it's not a silicone teapot dress! 😂 It's called a tea cozy, and they can be made of all sorts of fabrics (eg: crochet, quilted fabric). They're to keep your tea hot. ❤
Hey Jackie,
I'd love to see if you could make your own mold with these to be able to make more pieces from it.
What plants feel like a carpet? Lamb’s ears are fuzzy and softer than carpet and they smell like juicy fruit gum :) I love them!
I dont get why the dont add pippettes to these ones. The LotR ones come with tubers/pippetes to get the resin into the bottom of the mold without bubbles, why not these??
I like both tea pots and I also like the vase, but I don’t know if I could do it cause I can’t see what you’re doing, but it was fun to watch 33:37 2:43 AM
The little striped cat "shirt" is a tea cozy people used to make to keep the pot warm.
Its really hard to cure the resin inside the pot fully while in the mold so I’d suggest curing it until its hard then removing it from the mold to finish curing.
The teapots adorable I like the warming cozy koozie
The plastic plate that is included is to protect your work surface from the resin in case you spill.
The way Jacki just what's the editor moustache in her face it was so funny 😂😂😂
I was worry about the peak of the teapot, and I am glad they use a attached one! 😂 I really wanted to try this project, I feel so behind 😢
You are always brightening up my nights. Thank you
First one is called tea cosy to keep tea or coffee hot
This is to cute I just got my first mini verse that was the Harry Potter one and I am obsessed 🤩
I like all of them I really like the one that you poured together at the end
Jackie did u see the new hello kitty mini verse ones they just dropped?? They are pretty cool
12:16 hullo! That's why they give you the nozzle tip. 😭
Sunshine? Through a window?
That won't work as the glass stops the uvb. It has to be in direct sunlight. Like outside.
The new resin requires a 365nm uv light!
Underwater??
@yelljal2764 It's actually 395 that works to cure resin. And regardless, my nail lamp works fine.
@psychotophatcat Yes. It's a technique a lot of resin crafters have used for quite a while. If that top layer is sill tacky, you put it in a bowl of water and then cure it again. I don't know the exact science behind it, but it works very well to fix the tacky layer.
@@kyloren1839 While the 395nm light will work a little, you need a 365nm to properly and quickly cure the new formula of miniverse resin specifically.
i LOVE your channel so much it really helps when i'm having a bad day❤
Just an observation steeped in no experience whatsoever, but it seems like it might have been easier to put the kettle sweater on first and then just super glue the handle and tail onto the first project. I imagine it would have gone on easier without those pieces in the way.
Love you, Jackie. Been watching your videos a lot lately to fall asleep to. Thank you for making my nights entertaining.
You’re the best TH-camr Jackie ever
I can confirm at least to make it mini oven will not fully cure the new resins. You still have to put it in the sun. I don't know if the newer lights work but at least I know to make it mini ( older) oven does not
You need a 365nm UV light for it to cure now, which is a stronger light than anything Miniverse has officially released.
I love your videos. I know English is not your first language so I will let you know that the word is nozzle or spout. Muzzle is for animals and guns. Love ya ❤. Stay salty
She's Canadian, her family is from Egypt and she also speaks French and some Japanese. As a multi-lingual myself with at least 5 languages also, I can attest that sometimes we think in one language and what comes out of our mouths is a different word.
I was thinking about that but because english isn't my first language either, I wasn't sure if maybe I'm in the wrong. 😅🙈 So thank you for pointing that out, it had me confused.
@@MariaIsabel_Fufuria yes I totally understand. I'm bilingual and I speak Spanglish a lot of times.
Hey Jackie!! I'm so glad I found you! I'm a Jacki too!!❤
Yay Jackies!
