- I’m super stoked on getting these new mcalpline couplings and elbows posted to me all the way from Glasgow!!! They have been out a little while but are fairly new!!, great for repairs or means of gaining access at further date to outside black waste pipes, yes yes yes it’s not a powertool or any kind of tool but it’s about my job and it’s a cool product which might just get you out of a fix if your a plumber!!! In Germany they're mostly grey. The main maker is a company called MARLEY.

Don't know about in the UK, but in the US, white is generally used for pipe/fittings which are *for indoor use only* because they do not have UV protection, etc, and will degrade over time (and eventually crack) if exposed to the sun. Black or grey indicates that they have UV protection and are suitable for outdoor use (in the US, usually, ABS pipes are black, PVC pipes/conduits are gray).
So you definitely should not use the white fittings if the pipe is anywhere it might be exposed to sunlight or weather conditions. Use the black (or gray) ones for that, even if they are a bit more expensive, because they're actually designed to last properly in those conditions...

Yeeee gods it the punctuation police!!!!, is the punctuation police headquarters in the same building as the spelling police or is it a totally different department and building?I love this really I’m a punctuation and spelling masochist!!, iv got apostrophes and commas and full stops and all sorts of letters fastened onto various lengths of hose pipe and I whip my back with them all!!!! It feels fantastic 🤪🤪
If the grammar police get you riled up that much try using some of those apostrophes, full stops and commas, they won’t come calling.
I dont like them. Flimsy, seems like a flow reduction with the design of the fitting. So that can hinder drainage and ventilation. In the usa here those fittings are tubular sized and they dont have that cup the pipe sits in. I like the friction ring though. But for this application i would use a no hub band.
