Jonah Hoskins's acting, singing, and awareness of space, and stage presence are superb, never delivering more than is necessary. At first, I thought he was being overly ambitious by opening with "A Mis Ami" (which I've heard him sing before), but that decision was another display of mastery. Jonah is the character for each song he sings, breathing and living as that character throughout each song, never breaking character until the applause at the end of the recital. When one song ended, he transitioned into the the next song's character before the intro began playing. Beautiful partnership between accompanist and singer. Yes, Jonah is highly talented, and more importantly, highly skilled--especially with how naturally he emotes, sings, and acts on stage! His nuances are impeccable. Instead of perfection, I see mastery at a level easily comparable with Diana Damrau when she sang Violetta a few years ago at The Met. Bravo, Jonah, for achieving all you displayed in this recital. From one singer to another, I hope you have a thriving career as a principal singer. I look forward to watching more of your work. Congratulations again. P.S. Thank you, Kurt Weill Foundation for posting this video.
Magnifique! Beaucoup plus a l'aise que dans la competition Operalia 2021, Quel talent de comedien! Merci a Kurt Weill Foundation d'avoir partage sa performance. Talent linguistique ! Jonah Hoskin continuez! Je croise les doigts !
