16:55 "He needed gypsies tears, so don't overthink it." That line had me rolling! Loving your collaborations with your sister! You do really well with another person there!
Fun fact: Sasha Cohen and Pamela Anderson are very good friends. In fact, in that last scene where Borat tries to kidnap Pamela, only they were in on the scene; her security detail had no clue what was going to happen.
It’s hilarious that you subjected your sister to this movie, but it’s also nice to see she’s such a good sport 😂 Watching your reactions and interactions together on screen is just really heartwarming
The best Borat gag of all time isn't even in this movie. Look up the clip where he goes to an American grocery store and has the poor employee there take him down the entire dairy aisle to explain what everything is. That dude had godlike patience, lol.
miscellaneous fact, the beginning part (where it says it is in Kazakhstan) was filmed in Romania in a gypsy village, and his sister in this movie who says he won a prize and kisses her, was my neighbor (she played in many movies small roles in different roles
Dasha seems to have a very good relationship with her sister, I'm kinda jealous, I wish I had that kind of relationship with my siblings. Good for them being so close, family is important
No joke, in the late '90s I spent some time in various parts of Former Yugoslavia and it wasn't uncommon to see all kinds of contraptions on the road, pulled by horses, and also trailers powered by rotavators with the blades removed. I guess they were the cheapest engines around. Oh, and they would drive at night, in the pitch black, with no lights. Lots of accidents with cars as you might imagine.
I live about 40 km (as the crow flies across the water) from Pamela's childhood ocean-side family home in BC, Canada. She's spending a lot of time there renovating the house and property (she even did a multi-part documentary about that) and I've been hoping I might cross paths with her one day... but it hasn't happened yet. The locals in the little township of Ladysmith take her presence very casually and by all reports she's an extremely nice person.
I'm becoming convinced that Dasha is deliberately showing her sister the movies she's been showing her as some sort of revenge for childhood trauma and that it's not actually working
Your sister is just as cute as you!!!! It's loke you're identical twins....except for the hair color. Dasha you're one of my favorite female reactors!!! You are so funny, innocent and still learning from American traditions and vocabulary which is very cute too!!!! Don't ever stop doing reaction videos!!!! Jeff
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for blurring the naked fighting scene, this movie cracks me up but I definitely could have done without that when I first saw it, LOL.
Awesome reaction with Dasha and her sister! Just like this movie, I know that Dasha has already reacted to it, but I'd love to see her and her sister react to "The Hunt For Red October". Plenty of Russian is spoken in the movie which I'm sure both of them will enjoy hearing and translating.
Dont know if ive seen so similar yet different sisters 😂 I have a long time russian friend whos children, sister and her children all look like a mirror image 😬 Very good cheekbones :P
Thank you for having your pretty sister on your channel again. Very crazy movie you are showing her. I am glad she could relate in certain ways that would only apply to people bridging that culture gap.
Super fun fact: Pamela was in on the kidnapping, and they set it up at another location first, and he got all the way out of the store and across the street with her and nobody did anything lol they couldn't believe it
Well it would actually be an attempted kidnaping if they came out the blue, stuffed her into a sack and abducted her. Don't think she'd be too happy about it.
You say we don't tell jokes like this anymore, but the sequel to Borat literally only came out a couple of years ago and has plenty of the same kinds of jokes!
As a penticostal Christian _(of the type shown in the movie),_ we are all made in Gods image - And believe it or not - He has a sense of humor as well. When this movie is taken for what it is - A _(tongue in cheek)_ piece of escapism, its a real hoot. Thanks for the Stereophonic reaction from your sister and you. *Thumps up.* _Peace from Australia._
Great reaction from both of you girls! Loved it! Regarding the "racial" humor: The thing is that the "racist humor" is not really directed towards Borat, or "Kazakhs" nor the country of Kazakhstan, and neither to the idea of Eastern Europeans and Central Asians, but towards the USA people, who are oblivious to the outside cultures and who are projecting their racism, xenophobia, insecurities, ignorance and general discomfort or hatred to outsiders. Borat is just a vehicle to show and display the bigotry, intolerance, ignorance, racism and stupidy of the people he interacted with in the USA. That's the point of it all. Hope you're doing great!
The "not" jokes originated from "Wayne's World", a sketch from Saturday Night Live that became a couple movies. The jokes were popular for a couple years, but people stopped saying them long before this movie came out (that old guy was peddling an out-of-date joke). If you search TH-cam for SNL videos, you can probably find the original joke which might make it easier to understand the timing.
Your sister covering your eyes during the fight scene really had me laughing!! xD xD xD About the racist and misgonystic jokes, even when this movie was made that wasn't anything to laugh about. The humor is in Sacha having the nerve to be so blunt about it, and furthermore how some people just honestly agrees with him. The jokes are on them. The scenes from "Kazakhstan" were acually shot in a Romanian village, where the inhabitants really weren't told what the movie was about or what he was saying, none of them barely knew any english. There's a documentary about how they felt used afterwards. I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of it. Had fun rewatching this with you! Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden
28:12 omg your sister response “is this a campaign?” is one of the best things I’ve heard all year 😂😂 yes southern evangelical churches are basically campaigning for money in the form of “tithing” I grew up in a church like this and it was so traumatic for me. 29:23 the gibberish is called “speaking in tongues” and the passing out is more like a falling back bc ppl catch you and they call it “being slain in the spirit” I love y’all are watching this movie! One of my favorites! I got watch it in the theatre with my best friend when we were in college!
1:31 I must have watched this movie and ppl reacting to it, a million times. But as a european I never knew until now (bc you said it) that its spelled wrong.
Loved your reaction. I know you usually react to movies but there's a Russian folk band called Yagoda that did a song called "Three Maidens" about a year ago. Would really love to know what you and your sister think of it. In your reaction to "North By Northwest" you made a reference to a desolate area as " a place where you would sell your soul to the Devil." That's what prompted this question.
This works so well because the movie isn’t about making fun of Kazakhstan. It’s about making fun of American ignorance. It’s an opportunity to make fun of ourselves
Dasha, I'm a big fan of reaction videos and I admire your effort in learning English as a second language to a high level. In the spirit of one friend helping another, I would like to highlight a sentence you say in this video, and it's something that I've heard you say in other videos. You sometimes say "how do you call it?'. There are better ways of saying this in English, you could say "how do you say it?" or "what do you call it?". Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing your videos in 2025.
It’s so funny that Borat is anti-Semitic because in real life the actor Sacha Baron Cohen himself is Jewish. And yeah a lot of people from Kazakhstan did not like the movie mostly because of the way it portrayed the country itself. You two should check out the sequel. It’s just as great.

Love seeing you with your sister, you two are so much fun to watch together.
One day, she GET THIS!
You two are really fun together. Please keep on reacting to more movies together.

He's lucky he didn't get shot then

Then put back in her cage. If shes not careful, one day she'll get this
It's honestly a miracle Sasha survived making this movie. The Weather Man and driving instructor deserve Oscars for this. Great success!

Bringing sister onto the channel was really just a sibling prank. Dasha is forcing her to watch all the ridiculous movies 🤣
Dasha is such a troll! Not watching Princess Bride, not Lord of the Rings, just straight to the most debauched movies to traumatize her sister. 😂

Pam Anderson was actually working on Home Improvement and Bay Watch at the same time, and was totally in on this. Hilarious
Dasha seems to have a very good relationship with her sister, I'm kinda jealous, I wish I had that kind of relationship with my siblings.
