Stanley Unwin - Mastermind

Stanley Unwin, Water Rat 603
Born June 7th 1911 in Pretoria, South Africa, this unique performer would create a language, Unwinese, that made millions laugh for decades.
While in Birmingham in 1947 he was testing some recording equipment for the BBC, he ad-libbed his unique style of talking and it was heard by a radio producer, Pat Dixon, who transmitted it on the show "Mirror of the Mouth". Listeners wrote in, including Joyce Grenfell, saying how much they enjoyed it. The rest is showbiz history...
He died 12th January 2002.
