There was a ride or race for everything from casual rides to fundraisers to epic races. You had people from all walks of life and ages ride and racing with each other. At a race, you might have an elite racer, next to a gang member, next to a dentist, next to a hipster at the starting line. Everyone respecting each other and having fun. These were underground fixed gear races, but they were well organized with different categories. If you ever wanted to see LA people united, the fixed gear scene was the place to be. Hi, nice documentary! It unveils the reality of the more unknown, underground side of Singapore. What about doing one about the underground music scene?
In the Philippines, those who don’t abide by the traffic rules or those who have no concern for their own safety is called a Jempoy-which is hated by the majority.
Jempoys are the reasons, why cars honk at every bike they see nowadays, i get honked for doing a left turn, or leaving the bike lane due to a car parking there.
No matter what bike type, not all riders are bad. But its kinda sad to see some things u really love need to be change just because of all this black sheep.
If you build a Velodrome the fixed gears will come. Give them a free open safe venue to ride and race their fixed gear bikes. The fixies won't ride their bikes dangerously on the streets.
Nice to see this community of riders. Whenever I am in Sg i always go skateboarding around Raffles Place/CBD (Thank goodness the 5/0 are more chill) and i would see these guys. Super nice guys. Nah, still doesn't change my mind about fixie riders. I've been riding around Singapore for 2 years and almost every night I will encounter these fixie riders making a nuisance of themselves. Who in their right mind rides a bike while eating yogurt? fixie riders that's who. Nobody is impress that you can ride the bike with no hands bro.
In other country like German 2 seperate Brakes on a fixie is law since many many years. And for all other bicycle too! I dont überstand why not have these Brakes because they brake better than blocking the wheel with feet and solide the blocking rear wheel
I was running along East Coast park just now, and I saw a group of teenagers, more than 10, riding fixies, blasting away music loudly ,blocking entire park connector and smoking, Look like delinquent in the making.
The solution is simple, give these 'fixers' a 'space' where they can call home, fixate on the possibility that they can enjoy their activity in said 'space'; if caught outside 'space' a fine should be provided. This is where most government get it wrong around the world about fun, you block the fun - people will find illegals and evade the law. You provide a space - good quality space, learn about this 'fixer' activity and understand how you can provide a space that is modern, safe and accessible for all kinds of people who wants to play or be serious about their craft. Pumping breaks by slapping the law about having breaks is just going to make a huge unlawful activity happening. If you provide an 'actual space', the people who do these fixed gear rider will get bored and most will eventually leave the sport and only serious are utilizing the 'space' appropriately. Many examples - Roller skates > Roller Blades > Extreme Roller Blading. It happens every where lah. Not a fan of bicycle btw, but a fan of community spaces.

Bike ridings falling off a bike: Oh no my bike!
We're all young and reckless once. But through mistakes, we gain maturity and bike responsibly.
I think I was the 2nd wave of early adopters when fixie first hit the sg scene I think I was 26 back then ? ...bought a surly creamroller from TR bikes by lynton Ong .
Sure it was really fun.... The scene was buzzing ..
But I got into an accident and was in the A&E for 8 hours unconscious.
Respect and love to Singapore, the city state.
unrelated question
what was that DNB at 03:27
It is just generation trend, in the late 80s-90s, most teens playing BMX stunt bike, whole of 90s roller blade.
5:36! Aha! Russian trace!!!😂😂
The real ones out there dodging traffic
I love how he have a big cut on him but he cares more about his bike having a scratch
I do tricks on mountain bikes, which are substantially safer than fixies
Riding a bike is freedom. Riding a bicycle is even more freedom. 😊
Nice really enjoyed watching
"hey what are you doing,,, is this your father's road"
this is so coool!!!
I wish Toronto had a stronger fixed gear community, we're riddled with cheap single speeds
Hi, nice documentary! It unveils the reality of the more unknown, underground side of Singapore. What about doing one about the underground music scene?
I know one of them there, always sleep in class and never study
I'm also a lone rider man, i wish i have a cycling friend
We're alone together
Me too
Rather ride alone actually. People by default see us as pests in a group on the road especially. But alone they won’t care.
I find it better alone. No egos, no judgement of skills and gear and especially NO WAITING for late comers every ride.
The only life skill is knowing how to ride a bicycle and not getting into accident.
too bad the cool kid just missed the fire hydrant 😅
what's the song at 18:54
me wondering also
In the Philippines, those who don’t abide by the traffic rules or those who have no concern for their own safety is called a Jempoy-which is hated by the majority.
Nice content ☺️👍
feel shame cause im a fixie rider too and the bronze generation is ruining the fixies image we fixie riders sometimes get disciriminated
If you build a Velodrome the fixed gears will come. Give them a free open safe venue to ride and race their fixed gear bikes. The fixies won't ride their bikes dangerously on the streets.
Whenever a fixie rides along with me, i intend to slow down. I'm not comfortable riding with them. Most of them are reckless!
You guys rock! Fixed Gear! Don't listen what the say 🚲
Make me missed to hit pedals, my fixie still there alone in Jogjakarta after 8 years we are together 😞
lmao there were a few editing issues of the videos regarding on the dates, one of the vid put 6 November 2021
Nice to see this community of riders. Whenever I am in Sg i always go skateboarding around Raffles Place/CBD (Thank goodness the 5/0 are more chill) and i would see these guys. Super nice guys. I can see the appeal of riding at night in Singapore as the roads are nice. But this break law ?? serious ?
*To be honest most of these youngsters or YPs for short most are daredevils on the road dangerous to road users. When they are in groups, they will act viciously showing that they are bigger and better. But when police come all quiet like hamsters. Do something fruitful in your life. Even better go Australia or UK you will be accepted there. Open a bike shops and u will get more recognition there. Not in Singapore please!*
Some of the things they pull off make BMX’s jealous
I was running along East Coast park just now, and I saw a group of teenagers, more than 10, riding fixies, blasting away music loudly ,blocking entire park connector and smoking,
Look like delinquent in the making.
Yes
Exactly that's the general impression that ppl get
In manila most fixie riders wear black outfits , no headgears no lights hard to see during night time.
@Ikariya Biolante ....
Useless NEA never enforces smoking laws at parks.
16:34 who helps to pay for the damages to the vehicle?
insurance
This so cool! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
thats rlly cool and all but could you guys drop the music that you used in the vid? lmao thanks again great document
Man I wanna go back to Singapore & ride my single speed bike!
Stancinity!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩👍
I ride a fixie like them and i do join a bike club. My club is official here in our city.
