Welcome to part one of two. We travelled to a new country, Cornwall, where we met the Buscombes, a farming family. The parents of this small company are like many of the families we visit, proof that raising many children is possible.
Christ and His Church call us to be open to new life. This abyss of darkness and fear though is sadly where many Catholics tap out and get off at the next stop.
Whether by design or not the cultural environment has become a hostile place for family life to even survive. The prospect of bringing children into the world almost immediately presents us with the choice of deciding to follow worldly solutions or 'trust in the Lord'. There's no halfway.
Outside the sacraments there is no single greater solution to reclaiming this earthly kingdom for God than to be open to life with marriages that stay true to their vows.
Hard yards maybe but mission possible and in some ways the joyful justice we deserve. We have in short generations fallen asleep at the wheel.
