I love this. Thanx for the video, i have the same problem and i now have the courage to do this. I thought of doing this but i just had to be sure its possible. Thanx again🙏
Good video and a common fault with micro four third lenses even from new. I don't think the issue is with the part you greased. If you hold the zoom grip very lightly in various places you will fid it zooms easily. However if you grip the zoom grip firmly it becomes notchy. The problem I think is the incompatibility of the two materials that the lens body and the zoom grip is made off. They dont make for a good dry lubricated match. I've tried various greases but nothing seems to fix the issue permanently. Perhaps a dry graphite gun lubricant might be the answer? Barring trying that, the only real answer I have found is to use power zoom lenses! These have internal zoom mechanisms.
I would not use vaseline instead of pro grease. The vaseline will dry out when it‘s too cold or even just warm, and then start crumbling little bits onto your lens elements. If it‘s really hot, it‘ll liquify and get into other parts as well.
I'm not going to go too far he says - after he removed everything that is removable. It takes nerves to do what this man does. Result - Lumix and Vaseline are a good combination.
Honestly: I would not dare to lubricate even my cheapest plastic lens with vaseline! Vaseline will begin to get fluid typically between 38 and 58 degrees Celsius, so if you're taking a photo walk in the bright summer sun, maybe during your vacancies, it might happen that the vaseline distributes itself all over your lens internals, including glass elements. I guess you might want to avoid that.
I made this around a year ago and since then I have been between -10 to around 40 degrees Celsius. The lens still feels fine. I can move the camera around and it won't move. The only time it moves is when I move it with my own fingers. 🙂
@@K4133M4HM3D I wanted to buy a camera Panasonic GX80 which came with 14-140mm lens...but I have not bought it due to this ''stiff'' issue....I instead got GX9...but that lens 14-140 I really want...so now after seeing this I am thinking to call the guy just asking if I can buy a lens from him for cheaper and get it fixed myself ! :) Thanks
You're a braver man than I am! Very impressed!

Watching this has made me realize I shouldn't try this myself 😅
There's no chance I'm not gonna break a ribbon cable or get grease on the glass.

Dude. This is impressive: well done.

Did the lens dissolve or gum up it can fog the lens too.
Nice job! How's it doing at this point in time?
Same with my Lumix lens - reason I found this video.
I unfortunatly won't do that with 70-200m from canon ^^' But nice video anyway
Looks amazing
Good job
Mate even the s5 pro is same there all same its a plastic issue i paid 600 for a 100 to 300 dual ios samme sticking focus ring on mine

I usually take pics ot the different steps... With a smart phone...
It actually works!!!
Very helpful

He sounds like he's from the UK, it will never get above 38 degrees celcius there, let alone 58c
Looking for this by having that same exact lens. It’s so fucking stiff it moves my increments I hate it
What if it feels too loose? The focus ring will not stay in the same spot.

❤️👏👌 supert
This is not a good idea. Vaseline is sticky and will collect all dust and dirt over time😮😮
"quick" + "Vaseline"
holy sweet baby Jesus H. Christ on the stick 😬
Never use petroleum based products, probably watch another video.
Wow, really? 🙄
