With the simple name of Overlander, well-known pickup truck camper shell manufacturer and van outfitter Tufport is entering the overlanding industry. The business is well-known for its one-piece white monocoque bed inserts, which are essentially shells that clients can customize to their liking for interior design and other purposes. Famously, the manufacturer floated a model down a river with an outboard motor connected, roof side down, to show off its watertight construction.
Tufport will provide a fully functional interior with sleeping, galley, and storage options with the Overlander. It will be their first model of camper that is supplied.
On the recently launched Overlander description page, Tufport claims, "Our new lightweight, minimalist-designed camper won't overload your truck." Truck beds measuring six or six and a half feet in length may accommodate the Overlander. The inside height is 65 inches and the width is 72 inches, according to Tufport. A bed-folding couch, a kitchen with counters, a sink, and a storage space underneath, as well as a vertical pantry/cabinet and an above-the-cab sleeping section with a privacy divider, are among the interior amenities. There will be possibilities for cooktops, refrigerators, roof racks, heaters, and more.
Along with tinted windows with screens and a roof vent, interior lighting is also standard. There are also options for solar panels. Renders on the website feature grey and a two-tone black and white finish, among other colors. A third brake light is integrated into the shell, and a sizable back door facilitates access.
As of right now, no prices are listed. A request regarding costs and future availability has been made by Overland Expo. For distribution, Tufport is collaborating with Wasatch Overland, and interested parties may now place a $1,000 pre-sale deposit for the Overlander. August 23-25 at Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado, is when Tufport will debut the new Overlander.

I just saw the estimated price in the comment section, $35,000. !!!!?? Are you kidding me. I could get a John boat, dirt bike, and a camper for that.
Used of course. But if you take your time you can find exactly what you need. I'm not sure why some camper shells are so much. I know that it's all fiberglass and is mostly a
Monocoque shel but damn folks. There's no way that Tuffport is selling a lot of these.

So a small fiberglass overland camper for pickups is not even slightly a stretch. $12000 sounds unachievable, but making the product is totally normal, based on normal existing manufacturing. For probably more than $12000.

I just got an email from them stating production starts in May they want a grand to reserve and the price is $24-$36. If you want to sleep in the cab over it's another grand. I don't know where TH-cam comes up with $12. Maybe that's for a tool topper.
