@@Obsidianen Would need proof of that though. The officers can easily say they read them their rights and they declined having a lawyer present for the interrogation, most people are like that has they don't fully understand their rights because officers say them extremely fast.

If they want to use it as their evidence then it can also be used as evidence that they pressured a man with his only son. And they can also just as well say that they were not read their rights, and did not get to recieve the chance to get a lawyer. Then they pull up the camera footage of the rooms and see everything they did in there...

Jay really messed up in this one..can't believe he thought it was okay to arrest an innocent man wtf??? these people bend the rules like it's nobody's business and it's crazy how everyone thinks Jay is the best, to be honest they are all the same, which is CORRUPTED. I love the show but there are moments it truly tries to justify police brutality which pisses me off.
I agree, and this is only showing the rare cases where it actually does help the case, most of the time the brutal treatment of others doesn't actually lead anywhere so it's not just injustice, it's flat out pointless suffering for others. It's honestly disgusting, like the third sibling that just sits out of place from the other two perfect children.

Don't justify criminal behaviour, if they were following proper procedure then that behaviour would be written up and he would be given a psych evaluation to determine if he's still fit for the job. This episode was digustingly unrealistic. Considering a decent level of realism the show has held up, this is by far the most trash scene I've seen. Doing a public arrest or any physical assault like that for no valid reason can easily get the cops jailed and fired from the department, and even getting the station sued.
This show just loves justify police corruption and brutality. Somebody please tell me that somebody losses their job over the lawsuit from pretty public display of brutality.

I mean if you want reality I'm sure there's plenty of true crime type things to watch that are probably more realistic. Here they do things that may or may not happen in reality like you mention to add drama, build tension etc.. It can help convey things about a character or demonstrate how you should feel about a character good/bad etc..
