Sagenhaft, mir fehlen die Worte , das ich dieses Lied hier wieder finde, ich hab mir diese PLatte im zarten alter von 15 gekauft und hatte damals schon Gänsehaut bei diesem Lied, und jetzt seh ich diese video und wieder stehen mir alle Haare zu berge, gibt nicht viele Songs in denen soviel Gefühl spürbar wird, und das Gitarrensolo am ende ist auch unbeschreiblich , diese Steigerung die da drin ist, ich ziehe meinen Hut und Verneige mich hiermit vor allen Bandmitgliedern zutiefst.Keep on Rockin´!

this was on their first album that was the "mystery freebie" that came one month in my mom's Columbia House record club. nice song, and i'd wonder if faith bands today cover it?

Ich kenne LAKE von der ersten Stunde, Leider ist das nur ein Cover.... Sorry !!!! Die Urbesetzung wurde nie wieder erreicht. Da hilft mir auch Alex Conti, den ich verehre nicht.Aber schön das gute Musik unsterblich ist. Dennoch Danke!
This song can make me cry. Why do young men become soldiers? I love them, don't get me wrong, but don't they know what they could be in for? This song is full of very painful truths like when they ask if we'd crucify him again. I'm not Christian, but I believe in Heaven and Hell all that and I say, and I mean it, all politicians go to Hell! The new singer is great sound really strong, but James? He'll never come again he was unique and one of the best there ever was. Lake never made it here (States). I would have been too young to have seen them anyway, but I don't understand. Why isn't it universally accepted that Lake beat the living shit out of Supertramp and Kansas who probably paid for their own success and then made millions off it! I hate those two bands, but mind you listen to the first Supertramp album- it's great and way different from when they were successful. They had good voices in that band unlike Kansas, but like Kansas the songs were really sporadic when it comes to listenabilitly. Lake were so good all of it pretty much. Still are a great band.
As someone who knows a couple of the members of Kansas, you couldn't possibly be more wrong about them. I mean, REALLY? Bought their own success? You never heard about the members all living in one house in the early days of the band so they could afford to play for a living and to have a dedicated practice space. And they can play their asses off, ALL of them. The new keys player used to be in YES, for crying out loud, Tom Brislin. Kansas has been FAR from sporadic, but you seem to see them as a pop or straight rock band, and that's simply not something they have ever been or ever really tried to be, they have always, from day ONE, been a prog-rock band, and one with some aggressive music tendencies at times. Yeah, one of their biggest hits (Dust In The Wind) was a ballad, but Carry On Wayward Son was a song that Kerry Livgren had leftover at the end of the writing sessions for the Leftoverture album, and it ended up being one of the biggest and most played classic rock hits ever. None of this is to knock Lake, I love their music, but your comparison is both unfair and really, not even remotely accurate. Lake deserves better than to be compared to bands completely unlike themselves, just as Kansas and Supertramp do. They're ALL THREE very good bands, and last I checked, this wasn't a competition, so comparing them in that way is just ludicrous.
