Mini was a legend in Bhutan. Those days when there was no TV, people used to get excited hearing his name. As a kid, I saw him playing and scoring once. He was damn good. There was aura around him on the field. Used to wonder where he went and now I know. Happy to see him in this video. Salute from Bhutan.🙏
Before we knew Maradona, we knew Mini. As a child saw him numerous times playing in Kathmandu. My first impression of a real class player - Thank you Mini dai for inspiring generations to kick the ball !!
Growing up in Kalimpong in the 80’s I had the pleasure of watching many unsung heroes of Mela ground. Here is my list: Mini Lama Khare Basnet Pem Dorji Jerry Basi Babyla Basi (SUMI) Dhendup (SUMI - GK) Raju Rai (GK) Mumtaz (GK) Naresh (SUMI) Peter Marcar (DGH - GK) Jampa ( SAS )
Jojo, you are such a humble, polite person. So great to hear about from you. I grew up watching you playing at singamari ground in Darjeeling. You did signify size do not matter. The first foreign coach you talked about was Ciric Milovan from Yugoslavia. You are still the same most humble player I have seen till now. God bless you and your families.
Wow Daju I had missed this video. Lovely experiences you had. For some time I got nostalgic. I am going to share this with my son who is playing in CFL. Kolkota. Need your blessings for him.🙏🙏
You were a ' player's player, Mini, Amongst the best support player in the country. I always played better when we played together. Will always remember the brilliant, near post head goal you scored against the Railways in the National Championships at Bilaspur. Too many moments to narrate. You were brilliant.
Much regards and respect to Urgen Daji. For his contribution to Indian football. Towards the later part he mentions Gorkha players in Indian team in the seventies. Amar Bahadur Gurung is our Mamaji. He used also play for Mafatlal club
High respect to Mini sir, a legend whose game I had watched at Paljor Stadium with my late mother . I still remember his fast game in the final Bhutan vs Eastern Railways.

Humble individual and gem of a player of good old days. Correctly pointed out of Indian football being Calcutta centric in those days. If it were not for that there would have been many like him from the hills and north east. He was joy to watch and definitely would be darling in the eyes of the public whereever he played.
Ek damai dami lagyo interview and felt very happy knowing his exploits and achievements. Hope we get to see more of such interviews again of our giants in their own respective fields. And thanks to all the members of this production team in making this programme.
