On Yui situation: no one really knows what happened but they spent the full year really waiting for her to return. In a recent interview Su and Moa explain how they decided to continue performing in 2018 not doing any thing really definitive as they wanted to leave a spot for Yui to come back but without stopping the band activity. In the Dark Night Carnival arena show that was performed the 28 of october 2018, just two weeks after the official statement of her leaving the band, the stage is still built with three spots, two on the sides and one in the center. Clearly they built that stage thinking Yui would be performing there. Even a year later, on summer 2019, they performed two sister arena shows. One in Nagoya for Moa's birthday, Nagoya is Moa's province hometown. But there was another very similar show two weeks before. Yui birthday is two weeks before than Moa's, and it was in Yui's province hometown in Yokohama. So that means that when they reserved the venues a year before, around summer 2018, they still had in mind for Yui to be performing next year. Remind that Yui last performance was in october of 2017 and then they spent until october of 2018 waiting for her to return. There isn't an official explanation of what really happened, but we see a lot of clues that she was trying to come back until the last moment and that both Su and Moa and Team Babymetal tried to leave an spot for her to return. We still do not know from her whereabouts as of today, her last public appearance was at Big Fox Festival with Babymetal in october 2017.

On Yui's departure: All it would really take to force someone out of Babymetal is a persistent joint problem. The same kind of thing that end the careers of professional athletes. So that's my assumption. Maybe she developed a bad knee or something. That's the kind of injury where people will spend a year or years without any clear idea of when or if they will fully recover. We'll likely never know the specifics, because Japan doesn't have the same kind of celebrity journalism that we do in the west. There hasn't been so much as a single photo since she stopped performing. There have been conspiracy theories floating around, but the official explanation is very plausible, so I don't see any reason to try to come up with other explanations based on even less information.
Indeed, I have a problem with my knee too after years of running marathon, so I had to leave it, but anyway, remember Yui had an accident falling from the stage while performing the chanting part in the middle of the song, after that she immediately recover for the next song, but in the next song was Moa the one injured on a leg and you can clearly see she's in pain, there's a couple of vids of that moment, so who knows, maybe that leave sequels to Yui but not for Moa perhaps because the intensity was different. We just hope she's ok after all and with the less sequels to not banned her for doing performances. Coming to think about it, I recently saw a mini doc about a J-Pop idol group with a member suffering an horrible accident who leaves her in wheelchair and the group still have her and performance with them in wheelchair, talking about integration 🤯❤️

There is a new guide recently posted that brings you up to date The video told you pretty much all we know about Yui, please ignore any theories or speculation beyond what was said (they are all based on absolutely zero evidence and over-active imaginations). She missed the Legend S shows in December 2017 under doctors' advice, she was absent throughout the US tour in 2018 - the two (not "numerous") extra dancers and change of formation for the choreo on that tour suggests her place was being held in the hope and expectation she would be back (probably for the Dark Night Carnival shows), but she was not fully recovered and was still unable to perform, so she decided she would leave the band and stated that she hoped to follow her own personal long held dreams. The only thing there may be some evidence for is that she had suffered a back injury, but even that is speculation ... nobody knows, nobody is telling.

At the final Fox Festival in 2017 stage footage shows Yui was clearly wearing some sort of back brace underneath her costume and her choreography was more limited than usual. In their traditional backstage "thank you" photo after the show Yui looked REALLY unhappy and ill. Some have speculated that Yui sustained an injury when she fell off the stage at the 2014 Budokan gig, which steadily got worse over the next three years. This could explain why Amuse have kept her under contract to this day, despite Yui not having done anything since 2017. A failure in Health and Safety responsibility perhaps?

The concept with the unnamed "avengers" would allow it for Yui to sneak on stage as the 3rd member for as long as her health allows. (I dont want to spread hope where there probably is none, but thats the way i see the new concept: They did not close all doors. Yui also is still under contract with Amuse.)

Yuimetal's health I believe has something to do with her going in and out of conciseness during interviews and having delayed reactions. We all make fun of this but it could be the reason for her ill health. These are symptoms of Narcolepsy, and can be very dangerous for performers on stage. I am not saying that this is the case, just an observation. I feel very sad for Yuimetal and wish her all the best.
There have been all kinds of stories about Yui and her departure. Rumors of a pregnancy or serious disease or contract argument with Amuse have all been floated in the web. But I believe the official statement released by Yui that stated her health was a problem and that she wanted to pursue a solo career. Babymetal was not her dream of the future. And my understanding is that all three are still friends and care about each other deeply. Personally I hope that one day soon they will officially announce that all three of the Avengers will be added permanently, I think they all are amazing. (Riho Sayashi is my favorite though) Being an "idol group" at heart, it would make complete sense to add all three.

We really don't know what happened to YUI, except it's indeed an health issue, that she's recovering and was supposed to get back on stage soon, maybe this year, but not with BM. We got these few infos only because she's still with AMUSE and she was mentioned in their 2019 annual report. It has been speculated that maybe she withdraw to pursue a solo career, based on the last line of her leaving statement, but that's silly, it was meant only to reassure her fans, that's all.
I always wondered if Yui was diabetic. Her love of tomatoes, maybe something kind of sweet because of issues with sugar. Her small stature may be a result of kidney issues. Her drowsiness,. Maybe she can't continue because of the activity levels. Going solo with a less physical nature. Just a guess.
About the name Karen - Although it has a negative connotation right now in the States, the name Karen was not derived from English but from Japanese, written as 可憐, which means lovely or pretty. The guide mentioned that the Karen Girls were put together to sing songs for an anime, the anime in question was called "Zettai Karen Children" meaning "Absolutely Lovely Children" and so Karen Girls means Lovely Girls. At 24:12 "So there is a goddess... and this is a sacrifice to the goddess" - Not exactly, Su IS the goddess. If you remember the video "Babymetal Death" there was a narrative at the beginning. The narrative states that Su has to sacrifice her mortality (the crucifixion) in order to be reborn as the goddess, Su-Metal. The thing you heard at 24:03 is just an expansion of the narrative to include "The One" (the collective name of the fans) and so that it could be connected to the Metal Galaxy lore.

Yuimetal's health I believe has something to do with her going in and out of conciseness during interviews and having delayed reactions. We all make fun of this but it could be the reason for her ill health. These are symptoms of Narcolepsy, and can be very dangerous for performers on stage. I am not saying that this is the case, just an observation. I feel very sad for Yuimetal and wish her all the best.
There have been all kinds of stories about Yui and her departure. Rumors of a pregnancy or serious disease or contract argument with Amuse have all been floated in the web. But I believe the official statement released by Yui that stated her health was a problem and that she wanted to pursue a solo career. Babymetal was not her dream of the future. And my understanding is that all three are still friends and care about each other deeply. Personally I hope that one day soon they will officially announce that all three of the Avengers will be added permanently, I think they all are amazing. (Riho Sayashi is my favorite though) Being an "idol group" at heart, it would make complete sense to add all three.

Health Problems, best not to make wild and rather erroneous guesses on why she left. Her full personal statement was on going health issues, many think it could have been a back problem because it looked as though she might of been wearing a black brace during her last show the Big Fox Festival. Even that is just speculation.

😅 actually the heights of the girls in the Guide are outdated, they were that shor... ehm tall when they began. Now they are all about the same height, SU is 5.1 and MOA 5.0. YUI is 5.1 too.

su's been as tall as perfume mebers (5'4" on average) in the recent photo and yui was as tall as the great little kami member called mikio (5'2") already in 2016.

We really don't know what happened to YUI, except it's indeed an health issue, that she's recovering and was supposed to get back on stage soon, maybe this year, but not with BM. We got these few infos only because she's still with AMUSE and she was mentioned in their 2019 annual report.
It has been speculated that maybe she withdraw to pursue a solo career, based on the last line of her leaving statement, but that's silly, it was meant only to reassure her fans, that's all.

I always wondered if Yui was diabetic. Her love of tomatoes, maybe something kind of sweet because of issues with sugar. Her small stature may be a result of kidney issues. Her drowsiness,. About the name Karen - Although it has a negative connotation right now in the States, the name Karen was not derived from English but from Japanese, written as 可憐, which means lovely or pretty. The guide mentioned that the Karen Girls were put together to sing songs for an anime, the anime in question was called "Zettai Karen Children" meaning "Absolutely Lovely Children" and so Karen Girls means Lovely Girls.
At 24:12 "So there is a goddess... and this is a sacrifice to the goddess" - Not exactly, Su IS the goddess. If you remember the video "Babymetal Death" there was a narrative at the beginning. The narrative states that Su has to sacrifice her mortality (the crucifixion) in order to be reborn as the goddess, Su-Metal. The thing you heard at 24:03 is just an expansion of the narrative to include "The One" (the collective name of the fans) and so that it could be connected to the Metal Galaxy lore.
