How to build stone roofs Valheim

- This is a simple tutorial to make stone roofs in Valheim.
You will need a workbench and stonecutter but I forgot to say that.
I originally didn't know how to make these but after lots and I mean LOTS of time I figured out a sure fire way to make pretty good stone roofs and I wanted to share.
Scaffolding will be required if you do not want to use console commands.
And lots of stone :)

It's not imacheater anymore it changed to devcommands when they updated the game
Iron wood beams placed around the inside perimeter and then spanning the gap with them and then placing the stone floors on top of them also works well.. maybe a little expensive in mats but the effect is well worth it to have a wide open area free of pillars
Placing iron gates inside stone walls makes them almost 100% stable/grounded. Combined with iron/wood beams can allow for some crazy building both in height and wide open areas.

i dont use cheat mode at all, i feel like it will ruin the experence
i started out without cheat mode but i just started getting bored of grinding for stone for hours :/
@@BAGUETTEBOYyt isn't that because you just wanted to build a super big stone house? Just get the mod manager then get mods, like for farming stone/ores there is a mod that makes your pickaxe an AOE attack so after like 4 hits your get what your hitting but also all around it
But you still have to work for it, but now it just takes way less time. As I said with cheats it completely takes the joy in looking at everything and thinking I did all this my self. But that just me... I did find mining Grindy so that's why I just got mods, I also got content mods like epic loot(adds enchanted weapons to the game)
@@nakedmidgetmauluser7684 id argue that mods are just as much of a cheat. You are altering the game
@@thebucketlist5061 Completely agree! Installing mods is a pain anyway, I just use debugmode then z to fly and b to build without item cost. Then again I've been playing the game for 2 years and there's no harm cheating when you've played the game to death anyway.
There's a command to build without any resources btw, think you press B while in debug mode :)

This video is kinda dated in terms of the admin commands since the Devs changed a bunch of stuff. Worth googling all the new admin commands that get everything working. However, if you don't want to use admin and build normally everything is still the same.
why don't wood beams work with stone roofs? I placed stone roofs and there was a wooden beam in the middle... but it wasn't well supported so its just broke in seconds... also do you have to snap beams to the roof or is it just as long as beam is in contact with the roof that it's supported?
Wood is lighter and weaker than stone which is why wood breaks. And it's as long as the beams make contact it does not need to snap on. Hope this helps :)
@@BAGUETTEBOYyt sry I meant the stone ceiling broke, not the wood beam. And I meant not well supported as in the beam was not able to carry the weight/load of the ceiling.. because the wooden beam is thin and weak as you say, so using a stick beam isn't going to help support weight of stone. Good to know about contact thing though.. also that makes sense, I was just hoping that somehow the beam would be enough to support say one stone tile which support other tiles..
