If I could like this video 1000 times, I'd sit here long enough to hit the thumbs up! Thank YOU soo much for taking the time to help the rest of us out!
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. My 2017 Expedition had been intermittent, then would not blow at all. I checked the blower connection, plugged it in and out a few times (gonna get some dielectric grease and do this again) then wiggled the connection to the resistor. Lo and behold, it worked! Still have an open recall on this motor, but that's for another time. Ford would have charged my $150 to diagnose the issue.
Omg you are a life saver we are leaving for Ohio tomorrow from va and wife calls me at work to tell me the air is not blowing. When I got home I check the plug and when I touched the wire it started blowing so I used the wire lube and it’s working thank you so very much .
Mine has the exact same problem, when it turns off while driving down the road I have my wife or whoever is in the passenger side stomp the floorboard or lightly kick the side panel and it comes back on. So I'm definitely gonna try this. Thanks!
I had the same intermittent blower on and then blower off issue. After many blower motors replaced by Ford during the recall, I finally replaced the blower motor resistor and have had zero problems since.
Hey - I have been dealing with this for a year, got the new recall motor, did nothing. I have the passenger ram her foot up, and it worked probably 1/4th of the time. Put on the Permatex - worked instantly. LIfesaver, gamechanger. Thank you soooo much. If I can do anything to repay the favor, let me know.
Had my 2015 at the stealership this morning for this and another hvac issue. After a $170 diagnostic fee, they quoted me $620.60 for a new resistor (don't seem to need that) and pigtail. SCREWWWWW that. I'll tackling this one myself!
That's most likely not the wires themselves but a bad connection on one of the pins of the resistor connector or the blower motor connector. There are kits available to replace those with pigtails, I a suggest soldering the connections for the pigtails to the original harness and covering with heatshrink. For a higher current draw like that the soldered connection will allow current to flow better and not be a resistive connection like barrel crimps can be.
I had this happen to my 2015 ford expedition. Kept wiggling it when my air would go out and it eventually burnt the connector on the harness and the resistor. Long story short, just replace the parts when they start to fail lol.
Ford has a recall on this. HOWEVER they ONLY replace the blower motor and DON'T fix the problem which is actually a bad connector assembly. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD. The bad connector assembly is the cause of your blower motor issues. You can replace the assembly or cut the wires and solder them together. FORD WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.
100% the case. They replace the blower motor under recall. You can replace the resistor. It will not fix the problem, which is something in the connector itself.
@@philh8829 Ford also has a recall on the brake master cylinder as it may leak into the booster. The ONLY problem I have had with both my 98' with over 320K miles and my 17' with over 135K miles is RUST on the rocker panels due to poor seal design on the doors. I still drive the 98' as much and pull trailers as much as the 17'. the TWO valve 5.4 was still the best truck engine Ford made.

Great that you show the problem of the connection problem , but I had to go to another TH-camr to show how to get to the blower
I'm sure this would have been hundreds of dollars if I had taken it in. Thank you!

Your heaven sent my man I'm in this Texas heat n my wife's truck stop blowing..🙌🏿🙌🏿
Helped our 2017. Thanks a bunch!

Easy peasy! Thank you for the $4 fix!!!!
I owe you a cigar and a d4ink!!! What a easy fix
ALL RIGHT. YOU ARE THE MAN. IT WORKED
The grease didn’t work for me. Now it won’t turn on at all. You think I need to replace the plug?
Where can I buy the liquid and thank you it wrked brother

Thank you sir! It works just as you said
What do I do to replace the connector mine is Burt like a shortage can it be replaced
And the AC in the back is also not working it stop working 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
It’s most likely partly melted plastic around the connectors vs corroded connectors. Speaking from experience as a 2011 owner.
Thanks !!!! Greatly appreciated!!!!
What if it’s the wire instead? My ac works when I tamper with the wires

Thanks really helpful ☺️

It worked
It was recalled
The blower, yes. The connector and resistor no... I had mine replaced under the recall.
