There are so many marvelous things about Sarah Kane's writing. One of the most revolutionary to the theatrical form, I think, is how she trusted the process and her directors. Reading her writing, it can be whatever you will make of it. She doesn't play director in her notes or tell the audience how to feel about the words. She just writes the heart.

    *this exchange*
"Any one especially close to you?"
    "The very last one."
"To be free? [smiles, nods] good luck."

I know, I have scoured the entire of youtube and this is just...ace, she's nailed it. This is incomparable to any others I've viewed, I think if Sarah Kane could have directed '4:48 Psychosis' this is what she would've wanted. In this performance you can really see the intention behind the play, it is just simply magnificent and you're right, I think this is the only performance I've found that really reflects this play and depicts the best, clearest and most understandable message in relation to it. Despite the freedom of theatre and the fact that everything is up to interpretation, this is the most accurate representation I could possibly have found. Simply amazing.

This pure artistic expression goes beyond hyperconsumed limitation of spatial western mind. I just found the incredible playwright today. But what lies deep withim is level of suffering and sparcling clarity to share and write out of the broken mind that glows from the eternal darness of our sick world. Peace goes with the true artist!

For better understanding of psychosis, everyone should read Re-Visioning psychology. James Hillman. Sarah was a beautiful person in many ways I have respect for her courage .Se was a warrior, great one.

I live with psychotic symptoms and can say that the script and the performance capture the content of the hexes fired at me.
However, it's sad that authors like Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath and Sarah Kane felt pressured to fulfill the curse of the "tragic poet". It's as though they believe that they must die to affirm/validate their works. Dark poetry inspires people struggling with mental and emotional afflictions to unalive themselves. Dark poetry affirms death.
As a person living with disabilities, works such as "Psychosis" by Sarah Kane are negative influences. It's better to fight for your healing than to succumb to your illnesses.
I thank Jesus for giving me hope. Speak to God and read the Bible instead of reading dark poetry. Repent of your sins and live holy.
