You could do different tutorials for different wedding themes!😍 Like boho, traditional, beach, etc. That would be so fun! Even as a guest when I do my makeup I try to match the energy of the wedding venue/theme.
Some variation suggestions: - New bridal look as each season changes - Different themes/inspiration (blushy bridal look, glam bridal look, etc.) - How to/tutorial on applying fake eyelashes
Not getting married anytime soon, but I love the glowy freshness of bridal looks 🥰 I’m excited for your next (and hopefully soon 🤞) product round up, Julia!
I've been a working mua for over a decade and also am a licensed esthetician, so I know the absolute importance of using spf. However, I try to not use anything containing spf on my brides, for the simple fact that it will cause flashback in flash photography. If my bride is going to be in direct sunlight and I need to use facial spf, I will use something with spf 25 or 30 because the higher the factor the higher chance of flashback and I alsolet it reallysink in before applying any makeup. This is just my little 2 cents, but I loved this video and Julia's look is absolutely gorgeous as always. 😍 💖
Yessss... I need this right now. Julia I always watch you when im having a bad migraine attack and am stuck in a dark room being depressed. Your content is so relaxing to me its honestly therapeutic for me. thank you for all the hard work you do! oh, also, the trick you taught about putting on mascara and then kind of running your fingers thru it for a more natural look has been a game changer for me on my no makeup makeup days!
Yay! I have been WAITING for this from you girl. I’m getting married next year in March and wanted to have your input on this type of event. Thank you Julia, love your content 💐❤️
So glad you talked about minimal powder!! Lots of people on yt advise packing on powder for occasions or to combat sweatiness in the summer but that’s totally not how it works!! Learned the hard way at a friend’s wedding that powdering makes makeup impossible to touch up, and it will break up faster and more noticeably when you sweat (and my face is always the first place I sweat!)
Loved this video!! I learned so much! My wedding is in exactly one year and I've been thinking a lot about new make up I want to try so I'm ready! I would love a whole series of wedding looks.
ummm, STUNNING! you look unreal. i've always wanted to get lash extensions for the wedding day. Sam Ravndahl did that and I thought it was so smart. Robert Welsh recommends using setting spray before beginning any makeup, treating it as a primer, which might help with longevity. Love these blush and eye colors on you
Honestly one of the most game changing things I’ve learnt for you is putting cream blush/bronzer onto my palm first- so much more control!! No more clown blush face for me!! 🥰🥰
This is such good timing! I get married next Sunday and I had my make up trial the other week which was a total disaster!! She used all Charlotte tilbury and within 2 hours my skin looked awful! My eyeliner wings were wonky, my brows were splotchy, it was just awful! I’ve now got to do my own make up so I’ll definitely be taking some of your tips!
Love it! Julia, I’d love to see a few options for wedding guests and a more natural bridal eye look and a more dramatic look, show us your fav lip combo options 😄😄😄💕💕💕
This is such a lovely look and I might recreate it (probably with a red lip) for my PhD graduation ceremony in July 🥰 btw, do you not use a setting spray at all on these occasions?
I'm getting married Fall 2023 and I plan on doing my own makeup, so this is so helpful! Would love to see your take on a warmer brown/bronze-y fall bridal look :D
This is stunning. I'm doing my own bridal makeup next summer and your advice is amazing. Could you do a bridal makeup tutorial with a rosy eyeshadow palette like the Patrick Ta major dimension II or the new Em Cosmetics Divine Skies Palette in Venetian rose?
Extra tricks for oily skin that worked for me: I used glitter primmer on my smile lines and on my nose to prevent smudging and creasing. I also used it for my shimmers since I am an oily mess. It works like a charm. I used the wet n wild photofocus eye primer and set it with Rimmel stay matte translucent powder👍👍👍 And I set my cream blush with a very light powder blush and it lasted from 12 midday to 4 in the morning!!!! I agree with the less is more with powder! For me though I just went with translucent!
Hi Julia! Have you ever seen Asian bridal looks, from the south Asian MUAs? Our makeup is muchhhh more heavy glam but still so stunning when done well. I would love for you to try those types of looks! They're very much designed to look flawless on camera, almost like drag with lots of setting and lots of blush etc.
Do you have a foundation recommendation for brides with rosacea? It is so easy to become cakey looking while trying to cover the redness. This look is perfect 💕
Your makeup is flawless, as usual, and I loved how it enhances the eyes. I’ve seen other MUA’s who don’t recommend using SPF because it can cause flashback in photos, are the any SPF that don’t give this problem? I would also love to see a look with “something blue”, a more fun editorial bridal look and/or a minimal eye-bright lip look ☺️
Already married but this look is so cute! So tips I wish I'd done! I did some bridal looks on my channel too. I remember kinda doing a mix of the two them for my wedding. It was really helpful to see what it looked like on camera and to also have a record of all the products ☺️
What eyeshadow colours would you suggest for a wedding look for someone who suits cool colours? I was thinking a silver/grey eye but not sure if it’s too risky
I’m going to three weddings this year in JULY, not as the bride but still happy to have these tips and tricks! As an oily hog woman, it’s nice to know that there is a way to hold off some of those oils 😫
Stunning as usual Julia. Can u do a cool toned eye wedding makeup pretty please with sugar on top🍨🙏🏻 A drugstore wedding look?? I have fair skin & green eyes so I prefer cooler tones on my eyes. Why do warm tones make me look sick every time I try wearing them?? Warm browns are so pretty but I look seriously ill 🤒 I used to use MAC Omega only pretty much n then a cool toned shimmer then a brown pencil eyeliner. Again gorgeous 👰🏻♀️❤️✌🏼
Hi Julia, love the video! I am going to a wedding as a guest and I was wondering if you could do a dedicated video on that? All your makeuplooks would work for it ofcourse. Just leaving it here 😁 have a nice day/evening 🥰
Definitely could've used a wedding makeup series when I was preparing for my wedding. Ended up paying to get it and my hair done as I was not confident that I'd create a decent look.
Something I would love to learn is about how you keep your tools/products sanitary when doing makeup on other people! That's something not many former makeup artists/event artists get into on youtube
I def need to practice wings because your wings are so beautiful and sharp! I did my own makeup when I eloped last week and I did some of these tricks without realizing it!!! Though I was not brave enough for a wing 😂
This is perfect! My boyfriend proposed to me on January! 😍💍 and I know I'll be doing my makeup so I'll take all your recommendations! I love your videos ❤️
Can you do a video of how to properly touch up makeup throughout the day? For each aspect of makeup: how to touch up concealer, blush, bronzer, face powder, eyes, lips... whatever may need to be done. I'm so bad at touch ups! I feel like I just pile on powder on top of the grease and it gets all messy 😂
not a makeup artist but one of my best tips for touch ups is to try to remove oil or moisture from the skin first, don’t just add powder on top of it to absorb it. I use blotting sheets or even toilet paper to blot oil, and might sit in front of a fan or dab with a towel to dry sweat if(just be sure to gently dab, don’t rub or swipe). You might not even need more powder after that
I love this look! I’m getting married this month. I would love to see a drugstore bridal makeup. We’re doing a destination/ elopement so I decided to do my own makeup
I can't get lipliner to stay where it should be. Am I just buying the wrong kind? I have Nars and a Charlotte Tilbury one and they both only last an hour if I have coffee. Catrice plumping ones last a little longer but it feels like everyone else has more luck with lipliner longevity
Hi, Julia! I’d like a wedding makeup look using spring colors such as pastel pinks and pastel purples. I’m getting married soon, possibly before you can upload a new video on this topic, but I’ve noticed an utter lack of wedding makeup videos using colors other than neutrals or nudes. For my wedding, I’ll be using my ND Love palette paired with the ND Retro palette and/or the CT palette that you showcased here. I was looking for ideas to incorporate spring colors into my eye look, but there is virtually nothing online (well, there are some colorful wedding looks, but they’re typically too TOO dramatic for my liking, with crazy cut creases, etc.). I just want a soft look, like the look that you just did, but using colors that aren’t nude 💗💜🤍
Just curious, how do you pick what brush to use with your complexion products? Do you just reach for any brush or do you specifically choose certain brushes for certain foundation formulas?
Large Brushes that are flat on top with condensed bristles will allow more coverage, small ones like this also give more product but precisely, circle motions will build up the product by “buffing”. Flat top brushes with looser brushes will do a similar effect but less coverage that builds more slowly (particularly useful for powder foundations especially with natural bristles). Brushes that are round on top with looser backed bristles are not for building product, but placing with light application (setting powders, powder blushes). Tightly packed round bristles brushes are also for placing brush t rather than buffing, but allows you to pick up more product so you’ll have more color. Lot of brushes that do different stuff, and act differently with different textures, you get an eye for it eventually.
I can hear the collective “yessss” from the Juliettes
Omg this is so cute 🥹🤍
The Juliettes! I love that
JULIETTES! Yes!
i love this! i am officially a fellow Juliette now 🍹💅
THE JULIETTES!!!!
You could do different tutorials for different wedding themes!😍 Like boho, traditional, beach, etc. That would be so fun! Even as a guest when I do my makeup I try to match the energy of the wedding venue/theme.
Such great advice for brides and for all the women in the bride’s life! Less powder- that makes so much sense. Beautiful dream wedding look Julia!
Thank you Mama 🤍
Awww your so supportive of Julia! It's heartwarming and sweet 💌 we need more videos with you if you want 👀👀
Some variation suggestions:
- New bridal look as each season changes
- Different themes/inspiration (blushy bridal look, glam bridal look, etc.)

Her eyes .. each time I forget and I'm reminded immediately I've never seen eyes that green ! It's so pretty it looks like CGIed eyes 😍
I would LOVE an updated wedding makeup video with newer products to see what your recommendations for longevity still stand!!
Not getting married anytime soon, but I love the glowy freshness of bridal looks 🥰 I’m excited for your next (and hopefully soon 🤞) product round up, Julia!
That was the CUTEST eyebrow intermission 😍

I'm loving the wedding look. I'm getting married in October, and I'd love to see a boho/autumn look!
Yay! I have been WAITING for this from you girl. I’m getting married next year in March and wanted to have your input on this type of event. Thank you Julia, love your content 💐❤️
