I have one of the 1st gen Vaultek pistol safes with bio unlock. The bio unlock was very finicky and not reliable unfortunately. Now it only opens with a key. With that being said. I do give credit to Vaultek for being cutting edge. But having all these extra electronics on these new safes is steering me clear of them.
Hello, did you try reaching out to our support team when you experienced issues? They are very skilled at resolving issues. You can also try enrolling whichever finger you'd like to use multiple times. The biometric scanner can store 20 prints total leaving you plenty of space for additional enrollments.
@@vaulteksafe My safe is well beyond the warranty timeframe. Regarding the biometrics, I have scanned in multiple times,multiple fingers, at multiple angles. Unfortunately the repeatability and dependability of it in practical usage isn’t there. Like I said, mine was the 1st generation. Im sure those issues have been polished. The frustration over the years and price of replacement, is enough to be okay with trying out another manufacturer as a consumer. .
Changes needed: 1) Red LED to not affect night vision. 2) Internal battery should be internally rechargeable and remain user replaceable. 3) Alarm clock functionality. 4) Bluetooth AND WiFi Connectivity.
Hello! We have a full video coming out about this soon. To answer your question the wireless charger is 15W, USB-A is 15W and USB-C is 20W. USB-C can charge an iPhone 15 from 0-80% in 40 minutes, depending on the overall battery health. I hope this helps, a full breakdown is coming soon.
@ Not in the way I would use it because it would only have something in it at night or when I’m home. It’s more nice to get alerts if you have kids or other people in the house plus monitor settings. If someone hacked it there is still manual opening method.
Bigger is better, I found the DS2i to be much too small after I bought and returned it. I also questioned why a clock feature was included without an alarm feature and it appears this DS5i is missing it as well. I was looking for a bedside safe and an alarm clock feature seems like a no brainer.
yes would have been great to have alarm/clock feature, but also bluetooth speaker/radio would be exceptional! now that would be a no brainer... take my money

The internal LED lamp should be red. Deep red wavelength won't trigger the neutralization of rhodopsin allowing night vision to be uninterrupted.
Seems like it should have an alarm clock but the real issue for me is no WiFi model.

I don't want this thing going off with sounds. Discretion is better for something like this imo. I'll use the alarm on my phone.
Hoping the wireless charging is better. I fine it hard to find the “sweet” spot for charging.
DS5i has a magnet built into the front wireless charging port so that compatible devices will be guided into place.

I would have paid a little more for WiFi and a self charging battery pack instead of batteries
18ga and 16ga.... anything above 10ga or 12ga is not to be trusted for security.
