I'm on step frame and had the same issue with Bridgestone wearing on the edge had 2 blow outs aswell with them no longer using Bridgestone on our fleet
Hi Russell, We used to own a three axle caravan & we experienced a similar thing to your trailer with the middle axle tyres wearing out quite fast, this problem turned out to be due to the alinement of said axle it was only a few centimeters out of alinement but it was enough to scrub the tyres out rather fast,.. Hope that helps..
Your excessive wear on your last set of tires is caused by the geometry. It is essential pivot point for the trailer with the tag steer. So it has more sideway emotion when turning on that metal axle scuffing sideways, and grinding the tread. Don’t forget when the tag is up that Axel is caring, more weight geometry. so it scuffs a lot harder. When turning. If I were to guess probably 25 to 30% .faster. if your trailer is air ride, the carrier bushings, for it are probably bigger on that axle. If not, you’ll probably notice more aware because of the increasing sideways torque when turning.
Hi there love watching your videos just a quick question when you opened up the trailer for them steal plats did you have a movement order for that if not how much can you open the tralier before you need a movement order.
I don't think that lift axle is saving you anything and a rear steer as well, there is a lot of scrub on that centre axle when loaded and then it's a bit heavy to be running on one fixed and one steer when empty. I used to do a bit of spanner work for a guy running fridges all over Europe with hanging meat he would only run Gray & Adams and would never have a lift axle false economy he said.
Hi Russ, there is a grader like that at Whatley quarry with a young lady operating it, she does a great job it's much better driving to the top of the aggregates yard now😉 shame Torr quarry doesn't do the same. The services are terrible for what they charge, though I'm still on a class 2 tipper rather than class 1
I used to work at Torr quarry and always made me laugh when tipper drivers would moan about the state of the roads........u should trying driving on the shit for 12 hours aday😂😂😂 I know ur going to say why don't we do something about it and unfortunately it is up to the higher ups to approve doing something like that and because it doesn't effect them they don't really give a shit tbh 😢
@scrapper1988 I thought Torr was bad till I spent the day going backwards and forwards to the Henstridge yard via Templecombe 😳 it's so rough in places it makes Torr look smooth😂😂 I was on muck away so going over it empty going down, not much better coming back through loaded either
@elizabethmaybrown6715 makes u laugh that all these quarry and muck tips preach h&s but have such bad road conditions that won't be long till someone puts a claim in against a bad back lol Nowhere in torr is level and am shocked machines haven't tipped over yet. Even driving past the type 1 u r lent right over lol
@scrapper1988 for the smaller potholes between the weighbridge and the hill I treat them like cattle grids, go fast enough and you don't feel them so much😂😂 Hills near Warmwell is nearly as bad😳
Many moons ago, I drove a low loader, and had to move a land drain trencher. I was about to drive it on, when the operator said, " reverse on, drive off", wrong in my eyes, but who am I. These were the days when the goose neck had to be dropped out, as I was moving the unit away, said operator jump on the machine and started tracking it off. All well and good until it reached the balance point, the front dropped onto the road, but he was 20' back, and 8'+ in the air. He was catapulted out of the seat, luckily his jumper caught on the levers, and he was left hanging upside down. The machine of course was still tracking off, what should I do, move the unit, or help him. I decided the on unit. Drive on reverse off, he did after that.
I've been watching this channel for ages and disappointed that you've got low subs, the reason is the Title! If you changed it to something more truck related like RMR trucking or Russ the Welsh trucker would increase the subs i guarantee it

Great video as always Russell nice to see you back regular 👍
the centre axle is the pivot point so will always scrub more than the other 2 .. good rant

@elizabethmaybrown6715 place is going down hill fast
20 staff including myself have left in the last 6 months.
Never been to that hills site.
it is too much money for parking but £35 isnt a lot if you park in a layby and have 500 litres of fuel pinched
I do agree with that. But I got my own little safe places to park. If I'm not on an m/o. And most service are definitely ot safe to park anymore
