I got the T-Mobile variant for $295. 8gb of ram, 128gb storage. Wireless charging is what pushed me to this. I've had it a month, so far it's been great. Motorola does some things a bit differently, but I like it.
I got mine for free from a Motorola rep since I work at T-Mobile. I'm still road-testing mine to get my thoughts (and it's what I'm typing this comment on) and so far I like it! As an avid iPhone user this definitely cemented it's place as my secondary phone. I am a little miffed though, as mine is only 128GB.
I don't understand the problem people have with plastic phones. I don't care if it's plastic, as long is a hard one. The Nokias and HTC I had way back were plastic and were nearly indestructible. One of my HTC fell from a 4th story balcony, it survived, not even the screen got damaged, only got a chip on the lower back corner. But man, a phone with those specs, it should've at least include a fast charger to slightly justify the price.
This looks excellent but the timing for Motorola releasing this was bad. Now that the Pixel 7 has been announced at $599, it’s a much better deal. The only problem for the Pixel phones is the bugs and glitches Google is notorious for. If the Pixel 7 series has been fixed, I’d put another $100 with what I’d pay for this phone just for the quality of the Pixel phones. This phone gets shockingly good reviews with that Mediatek Dimensity 1050 processor and some said it’s as fast or faster than an iPhone 12 Pro Max and another said it was faster than their S21. Motorola is heading in the right direction but they should’ve knocked another $100-$200 off the price and it would kill the competition.
This device will be $100 cheaper by the end of the year (the 2022 Motorola G Stylus 5G is already down to $349 so I picked up a seafoam green variant) and I believe Motorola listened to the complaints regarding the 2021 Edge (this looks like an improvement, even the MediaTek Dimensity chipset appears to be snappy). 👍🏻
@@CJBrowninLV don’t get me wrong, I really like this device. It looks amazing especially for its price and this is the first phone that Motorola is supporting longer. I believe it’s 3 major OS updates and 4 years of bimonthly security updates. Motorola is heading in a better direction than they have in years. But the price point and timing are just awful for them since the Pixel 7 is $599. If Motorola had put this device at $350 it would’ve killed the phones in that midrange to upper budget price.
These are free with a basic unlimited T-Mobile plan, but it's the 6gb/128gb version. It's definitely the best free phone they offer by far. I just switched from Metro and got four of them free and four lines for $115 per month including taxes. Benchmarks put it slightly ahead of a Galaxy S20 speed-wise.
I have the Moto Edge+ 2022 and I love it. I'm surprised that Motorola did not release the Edge 2022 along side the Edge+. Also, the Edge+ 2022 does come with a charging cable and charging brick. I was able to find it on Woot at $500 a couple of months ago.
I have a question about the charging cable. The cable we got in the box had the same connection on both ends of the cable. How do I use that? It doesn't fit into a plug for the wall, it doesn't fit into my computer. What do I use to charge it?
I just want a basic phone for basic uses. Not a gamer but I do like my music on TH-cam. I think this will be a phone that'll work for me love the review thanks so much
I cracked my screen on my edge+ 2022 and was thinking snag a refurbished edge 2022 mainly because it would be the same price (160 to repair screen) seems similar except has the fingerprint unlock in the front which is much easier to unlock my phone on my little stand while working from home. So I guess have you tested the edge+ and how would you compare. And how is the on screen fingerprint unlocking? Thx
Tom's guide adds a few other specs..... Motorola Edge has a platform similar to Samsung DEX.... It's called - Ready For - allowing the phone - creating a Mobile Desktop when using a TV or computer screen.... Thus saving money on an expensive computer & wifi....
I’m very interested to see how this phone does performance wise. It seems to have some good specs and on T-Mobile you can get one for free with a new line port in. So if it’s any good I might use this as my android phone. I had the Moto edge 2021 and it was very underwhelming on battery life so I’m wondering if this will have good battery life with the 144 hertz display.
I've had multiple phones with high refresh rates and none of them have had good battery life. However, Motorola's 5000 mAh battery is solid and it will last for a very long time on 60hz. It's give and take, if you're going to be around the house watching videos all day turn on the high refresh rate, if you need the battery to last all day then turn on the lower refresh rate.
I just bought the Moto edge 2022 . Same way as you. I pay $70. A month Unlimited Plan for 2 phones. Get a Moto edge 2022 Free. Great Deal. My main Phone is Poco x3 gt paid $265. Over 1 year ago. Check it out. Great Phone.
Which phone is currently the better deal and is better out right performance wise. Moto edge 2022 are Moto g stylus 5g 2022? I can get the stylus for 249 and I can get the edge for 299 currently.
Best buy has the 2022 edge for $250 right now. Just snagged one myself. I had a 2020 Moto g power until now and loved it. I'm not a big phone person and I don't believe in spending $800+ for a phone anymore.
I found the phone to be a good all around phone. Some reviews are harsh on the camera but it takes good HD video and the pics are nice as well. The only setback I have had was the OS updates aren't on time at all. Many of us are still running A'12 when a phone of this calibre should be on '14 already. I bought mine from eBay and Im worried some models that are sold for a cheaper price from online 3rd parties are being held back from updates, just a Theory for now...
Can you do a part of the front facing camera and the features with that? And also, can you do the macro feature as well in the rear facing camera? And looking at the video, I can't tell if it's a curved display (like the moto edge 2020) or if it has more of a galaxy a51 (5g) display. I have the moto edge 2020 and I'm thinking of getting a new phone and so far the camera features looks amazing, but not sure if this phone has everything I'm looking for lol. I'm just trying to get as much details as possible lol

All I can do is call and text sms if I have wifi I can do other things. Also it resets itself alot and freezes. Must have gotten a bad unit. Because I put the same sim in my s21 plus and my data worka
I've had the phone for about a week now. The CPU ain't bad at all. I'm not really sure what you use your phone mostly. But a lot of the reviewers didn't have a problem with the CPU for it. Of course, if you're more into gaming, I'd go with a higher end device with a better chip. This one is not so bad for an all around phone though.
They shoulda left that edge secondary screen. They shoulda left the headphone jack. Other than that, I have no complaints. Especially considering Motorola will offer serious discounts on these phones. My God!
Edge has always been the Top Tier from Motorola (and there are variants), I will hesitate with the MediaTek Dimensity chipset (let's see if it competes with the Exynos and Tensor), but the specs are solid (wow! no wall charger? I think that's because the device charges 3 times as fast as the standard 10 watts wall charger that's usually included for Motorola). Stereo speakers (so no headphone jack), nice front 6.6 screen (144 htz), camera is Motorola standard but it's better then you expect (you will know what year a device is from by the design that's carried over) and that Box (omg it's so 2017 Samsung). 💜 that Motorola My UX let's see if the Edge (2022) gets minimum 2 OS updates + 3 years of security updates (that chipset appears to be snappy enough + the audio is real nice!) 👍🏻
Have a Moto G100 - picked up the Pixel 7 and used it for a month and then went back to my Moto. Pixel has a great camera but very boring device. Love the Moto gestures and narrow nature of the phone in hand. Moto Fusion 30 is my next phone, but very happy with the G100!
