    This guys cooking is great, he focuses on quality ingredients, he is patient with the process of each dish to attain the best flavour. The chicken soup and beef stew are my favourite videos and thoroughly enjoyed watching. Inspired me to replicate his recipe exactly.

      That was the perfect description of a thing called "beef stew". Nothing Jewish about it except the Kosher salt. From the LeCreusete Dutch oven to the frozen peas at the end and the dab of tomato paste with the onions and the rue, everything was absolutely classic. More British than Jewish. You can't get more perfect than this video and I don't know how you could make a better-looking beef stew. You should see this guy's chicken soup if you want to see Jewish...:)

      Actually Kosher salt isn't Jewish either... just it's name is. Kosher salt is also known by other names. My guess is that they like to take credit for everything.

      @@cxoot It is referred to as Kosher Salt because the larger Crystals are used to “KOSHER” meats, chickens etc. The larger Crystals being more effective at removing blood etc from the product.

    Wow, David you have over 10,000 views as I watched this video! (I know you posted it way back in 2015, but still)!! Awesome show, and I am jealous of your Le Creuset :) I love that you added the fresh (frozen) peas at the end, I may try that for my next stew. I usually use barley instead of potatoes as my starch, but otherwise very similar.

    This was very helpful. My husband is Bangladeshi. And they eat similar foods and no pork. They also celebrate Purim. I'm finding our so much. I also need to learn more. He's a Christian like I am. It's good.

    High heat is not recommended for the cast-iron enamel dutch ovens....a medium heat will bring the covered pot to a boil.

    with meat string, tie your rosemary together in a bundle. It makes it super easy to remove later with tongs.

    Excellent Stew David, I make this often in the Winter. I like to keep it simple and I look for Recipes by others. I am making it today for some Friends that are visiting from CT. This one is very nice.

    Your stew looks really tasty and left me feeling hungry. Thank you for sharing this with us. I do have a question though because I was surprised your potatoes didn't go to mush. What potato did you use as I know some potatos wouldn't stand up to an hours cooking?

      Yes, to thicken it, and to coat the beef to keep it from drying out.

    Looks good but one sleight criticism is the use of bought stock, isn't it a bit cheating? What would do if it wasn't available or didn't want to use it?

      It’s been salted. No blood remains.

    You didn't mention it, but you probably used coarse salt, known as Kosher(ing) salt.
    ...just so folks know...

    When you season the beef - instead of picking up each little piece of the beef to turn them, why not place another plate over the first plate and just FLIP them.

      Just regular chicken or beef stock is fine. No need to use the red wine if you don't want to.

    Yellow onion would be better for stewing. Vidalia loses its flavor.

    Your not eating kosher your eating meat with the blood in it,your supposed to wash it with water red meat so it made white beef,if your paying attention to your religion properly.

    london broil is the exact wrong cut for beef stew
    there;s nothing uniquely kosher about this dish
    this really looks like it's far too dense
    this could be made in a $39 aluminum cardera pot which would weigh a lot less and clean up a lot easier
