Visited my sister here, from Western Australia in 2022 its very different from what we have in Australia with the wide open spaces, compared to everyone living on top of one and other.
1:19 Hello our old house 17 Wolvercote Road further along on the left. Can't believe it's been 12 years now since we moved away from Thamesmead. Feels weird seeing Coralline Walk and Binsey Walk all gone now. I know the old architecture in Thamesmead looks all grotty now, but still feels a bit sad that it's all being pulled down as I grew up there. Especially knowing they'll get round to Wolvercote Road eventually and my old house will be gone. But at the same time, glad we moved when we did and not have to deal with all this now.
Surprised to see some changes. Haven't been here for years. Moved to Abbey Estate in 1970. Abbey Wood station had a level crossing then. Thamesmead stage 1 and 2 just complete. Used to play here on my bicycle then. Remember, circa 1971 the 177 bus was extended to Alsike Road. New route 198 in 1974, Thamesmead East to Woolwich started. At the start there were stairs on the left at Yarnton Way Way leading to shops. Peter Sellers made part of his 1973 film here The Optimist, seen in the film. The roundabout at 4:23 back in 1970 was a cross roads then. 180and 171A bus used to go full length of Harrow Manor Way to Sewell Road then and into Grovebury Rd. Lived in the maisonette seen at 5:47 next to pub. Nice to see again.

Was about to say the same - lived at 1 Hartslock from 72 to 84 ish.... New Road was a bit posh!
