I think Dawn of War has is in it's own self contained universe and lore, which means Cadia might not have fallen in the games canon. Also I expect the first piece of DLC for DoW3 to be either Imperial Guard or Chaos Space Marine, kind of like the first DoW and it's first expansion Winter Assault.

Abaddons 13th Black Crusade succeeded in destroying Cadia (even though his actual mission was to secure it) - was destroyed after Abaddon smashed a black stone fortress into it trying to kill creed. Failed. However the shock rendered the planet indefensible and after the pylons short circuited it was enveloped into the eye of Terra as it expanded. In minor words. Abaddon could not defeat the imperial forces until the planet pretty much broke itself apart. In other words "The planet broke, before the guard did"

lore accuarcy shouldn't affect gameplay look at what lore accuracy did to halo im a huge halo fan yes ik.spartans should be able to sprint and do all this crazy stuff but it was detrimental to the gameplay as a whole imo so gameplay over lore any day

First game, they need rescuing from the orks, second game, and 6 squads of space marines are better than the Pdf of whole planets, and now this.
The only critics with this game is the units being killed is slow and not adding the variant weapons which is a shame and especially the heroes sucks. Also the resources points defense is suck it is so easy to capture.
Looking back on this game, it's not as bad as I remember it being. I still get a little disappointed when I see it but, I think it actually looks pretty fun.

I don't like the fact that this game sacrifices a lot of features in the name of multiplayer. it basically guts most of the immersion for the sake of balance. For example animated sync kills. DoW I was friggin awesome because of it. They at least could of allowed sync kills in single player story. I was hoping for DoW III to adapt more of Company of Heroes mechanics (cover, full on destruction, pinned down etc.If they simply did that, this would easily be one of the most legendary games made) with massive armies of DoW I or at least Company of Heroes. Basically Company of Heroes with melee combat and large quantity of units would of been nice. But no! Apparently multiplayer balance is more important than everything else. If that's the case, StarCraft II does this way better.

It sort of seems like you're confusing Gabriel Angelos with Indrick Boreale from soulstorm, the worst expansion of the original Dawn of War.
Walk softly, and carry a big gun. Also, soulstorm was pretty good. I don't get why so many people dislike it so much.
