- Hi there! This is my first on-camera video introducing my new channel, "The Flix Files". I talk about some of my history with being a movie lover, my aims for the channel, and I go through my top 15 movies of all time.
No fancy editing. No LED lights in the background. Just a Gen X'er giving an unscripted, relaxed chat about his favourite movies. I hope this is a good way of introducing myself and my taste in films. Do you agree with any of my choices??

Thank you so much for such a kind comment. It really means a lot! As you can see, I'm still a TH-cam newbie but aiming to upload every Tuesday & Friday! Glad you agree with my film choices. It is rather sad that most are 20th century, but that's how it is! I'm sure you'll enjoy my upcoming videos if you like what you've seen so far! 😁👍
I agree stick with the 77 80 83 classics just pure magic ✨, love close encounters of the 3rd kind, original 79 alien movie is just fantastic,

Fantastic introduction video mate 🤩🙌🍿🎸🎶 Brilliant backstory to how you fell in love with Film; some amazing choices here; ‘The Shining’ is my fav Horror film ever; watch it every tale end of October; the Book is superb aswell 😀🍿🪓📚👌 ‘Jaws’ is superb; ‘Alien’ is great; love ‘Robocop’ 😎 Shawshank is my second fav film of all time; absolutely adore it! Saw it at Tyneside Cinema not long back 😊
‘Blue Velvet’ is my fav David Lynch film; wonderful film; brilliant soundtrack aswell; love Julee Cruise & Angelo Badamenti 😀 Keep up the awesome work; hope you have a great weekend and I shall give you a shoutout in one of my future videos 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶

Of course The shining is in your list just a unbelievable movie just unbeatable, i haven't seen Shawshank redemption for 5 years i have the 4 k Blu-ray so its on this Sunday, fury road surprised me mate i didn't like it at all , doctor sleep is fantastic overlook hotel looked unbelievable 😍
I've always liked MAD MAX and the director, George Miller, so I was excited to see his return to that genre. 😁

I've just had a look through this after your comment on my own channel so I can' possibly give you some guidance on where to go from here but I'll do that on my own channel as there's not much. You have a good manner and a good voice so that should work well for you as you develop further and further.
I think The Shining was a couple of years before Blade Runner by the way.

Welcome to the community 😎👍🏻 i think the thing where people have alot of movies they haven't seen yet in their collections is partly a side effect of doing / watching these yoytube videos 😂 we all get excited about hearing each others recommendations and favourites that if we see them on a good deal we end up adding them to our own collections ready for the day the moment strikes to watch it 😁 well thats what i tend to do 😅 have fun on ur channel mate, ive subbed and hit the notification bell 👍🏻

@TheFlixFiles we have all been in the same boat, just do what u enjoy doing, and ur audience will find u 👍🏻 My personal advice for youtube would be not to worry about the analytical side of youtube, (unless u are trying to become a youtube megastar, but alot of us just do it for the enjoyment of being in a community of similar minded people) don't loose heart if u loose a sub now and again, it will happen and it's all part of the process. Bit like keeping a pencil sharp, u have to loose a few shavings along the way 😅

Just finished watching. I had to do it in 2 parts. I agree with all your picks. Some great stuff. I haven't got to Doctor Sleep and I do have a copy so will have to give it a spin as you seem to be a decent judge 😁

Doctor Sleep should definitely be on your watchlist if you're a fan of The Shining.
