at 02:50 water will not turn into hydrogen and oxygen!! You overlook the fact you need other materials to create your oxygen and hydrogen eg electrodes/electrolytes and it's those materials where the gas products originate!

If I use Sodium Hydroxide as an electrolyte the NaOH contains oxygen and hydrogen so the electrolyte will split but not the water. And remember there will always be anodic decomposition so the anode will release gases too 👍

No. The electrolytes just help conduct electricity because distilled water can’t conduct electricity. 😊
