I use mine every day and love it… being in the pack out frees up my hands so the lid leaking if knocked over almost never comes into play, and I only close the lid if I am in a dusty situation that I need to keep things out of the drink. That being said I’d gladly buy a better lid for a few bucks if offered. But it does keep my coffee warmer than any other cup I have and locks into my pack out… more win than loss to me.
For mine I personally open and close it slowly to avoid the splashes. I think Milwaukee released this with the flaws knowing that everybody that owns pack out will buy one, and then once they realize they sold enough of them they will make a revision of it better so everybody will end up buying a second version of the Tumblr.
Fun fact the lid is manufactured by same company that makes yeti lids. Which you guessed it… means you can use yeti lids. I use mine on my big and small Milwaukee tumbler because my wife doesn’t use lids on her yeti cups at home
I love my milwaukee packout tumbler mine does not leak at all. But the whole red coating on the outside is flaking off like really bad. I contacted Milwaukee and they would not replace it directly since I am in Canada. I was told I have to drive out to a milwaukee authorized repair facility just to warranty it. I even tried to write a review on milwaukee’s website and they would not post it I was told it was being moderated, the review was polite, truthful and included photos. I think this is a well known issue that they are trying to hide it.
If you don’t like the milwaukee lid just take a standard yeti magnetic slider lid it will fit. I regularly accidently put my yeti lids on my milwaukee tumbler.
Thanks for the honest test. After what I saw, it seems that the mug has a significant flaw. I have two Contigo West Loop cups and a Fjord Nansen Lando. Both are great, they keep you warm for a long time.
I purchased this knowing it would leak if tipped over. Not a huge deal. You can tell just by looking at it. I have other "tumblers" that leak worse and cost more. Keeps my coffee warm till the last drop, sexy looking and I feel the snap open and closed lid is satisfying. I find myself opening and closing just for fun
I bought one the other day and was instantly disappointed with the lid... What should I be searching for to find compatible lids? I'd love something that I'm not worried about knocking over. If my packout cup goes horizontal or worse, it's instant coffee stains everywhere 😂 Everything I've used in the past has screwed onto the cup, so a friction fit lid is all new to me...
I've had a look, it seems the yeti rambler lids are compatible, but apparently also leaks when knocked over... Therefore I'm not sure a yeti lid would be any better than a Milwaukee one?
I definitely understand the lid spraying liquid when you open and close the top. It's not a huge deal but sometimes it will spray enough to go on my laptop or ipad. Besides that I dont have any issues. I still use mine all day every day
It’s great for a coffee onsite and fits F150 cup holders nice and snug the fact that you can lock it on your toolbox is amazing can’t tell you how many times I spilled my coffee because my hands were full and I left it on the pack out
I remember when you were all Ryobi! I’m glad you got into all different things! My favorite brand is the one that gets the job done! Even though I got mostly Milwaukee and makita lol I like them all. Listen if it will save me a few bucks, gets the job done and lasts a while, I’ll take it! Glad I didn’t buy this tumbler though! Haha! I just took my favorite tumbler and made it attach to my packout. So many 3-d pro tables adapters out there. I was actually thinking of getting a 3-d printer.
I have the 30oz. Haven’t had the same issues. The kid I have fits tighter than yours from what I can see. Mine won’t leak when turned over in the closed position. I hate you got a bad product. It is possible the seal in that lid is flawed from a bad fit at the factory. Milwaukee is great about listening to customers so hopefully this issue is addressed!
Don't really see why you'd need a "pack out" Tumbler but.... It has basically two purposes. Keep drink warm/cold and keep said drink in the cup. And they still failed.
Old comment but the reason for me is i can 3d print packout locking base cupholders that are only 1/4" tall and put them on everything i want a cup holder on that doesn't have room for a regular cup holder. And like other people have said i takes yeti lids
Ohhhhhhh. It leaks huh? I went to the Dumpot today and had a 1x6 and two of those cups in my hand. One for my wife and one for myself, thinking I was going to get their military discount. They didn’t allow it on the tumbler for some reason and I told the lady to take them off. Seventy dollars for two cups that leak. Bump that. Thanks for the info.
Nearly bought one the other day and now I am so glad I didn’t. Great video man. Sad thing is that they’re gonna sell a shit ton of these for Father’s Day.
I did this with mine. Yes they fit, and quite well. I have a Yeti 20oz tumbler, and the lid fits very well on the Milwaukee. Although, it still leaks out of the Mag Slider, just not as much.
Yeti lids fit. But side by side in E.Wa Summer heat, in the truck, Milwaukee 30Oz STILL had at least 2 layers of ice in it the FOLLOWING morning after being in the truck all day and night on a 85degree day. That’s why I don’t really care about the lid. When my Yeti is good for 8 hours and my Milwaukee is good for 20hours in the truck in the heat.
Lol, I have the 30 Oz for at least 6 months, use it everyday, and I've never spilled a drip. Of course I rarely ever flip that open closed switch unless I'm transporting on packout or sawdust is flying everywhere.
Use mine daily. The lid is a 2 piece, if you open it halfway, the ring comes off so you can clean it. If was 100% leak free, it would be hard to twist open. Sometimes mine lays sideways in the front seat and I have hardly gotten a dribble out of it. But along with anything carbonated, I don't recommend a push in lid anyhow, because of the pressure build up.
I have a yeti tumbler that was an award from work I'll buy the Milwaukee one if the lid is the same my yeti is only a 12 oz i think vs the Milwaukee that's 20 or 30oz
Ty, I almost bought one last week just because. Now I don’t understand the point of solid mounting a tumbler on a moving hand truck. Even on a smooth surface going over thresholds. Simple bumping and angles it’s just a disaster waiting to happen. Maybe a thermos would work but then again they would charge about $200 for it. I think an articulating drink holder with different points of adjustments that could mount or lock into the top of your packout would be a better option.
Same! I hate this lid. How the hell did they let this leak so much‽ I want to either find a new lid to fit the tumbler or slice the foot off and glue it to something that holds liquid
I can deal with it for the fact that the lid is easily cleanable. I had way too many blender bottle go to the trash cause of the protein shake stuck in some crevices that I can’t reach and starts to smell bad.
The cup don’t leak that bad and the lid splashes a bit big whoop if you work construction the won’t bug ya if you close it slowly it’s fine but i wouldn’t let something like a splashy lid turn me away from this cup if it works it works
Every tumbler lid leaks in my opinion unless it actually has a rubber seal to one that clicks into place with force. All of the tumbler lids are magnetic and plastic on plastic ofc they will leak. Milwaukee one leaks less than the yeti one in my opinion.
Wow the amount of people defending this clearly flawed lid is kind of surprising. I think it’s a legitimate complaint. With that being said I’m sure it’s probably not that hard to find a replacement.
I get the liquid squirting up. Expecting it to not leak turned upside down is a pit ridiculous. All of my non screw on lid yetis leak turned upside down.
Excuse me, but when the F did we start calling cups/mug, “tumblers”. What in everything is that is holy is up w/ that ish!? WTF does it even mean? I mean, the last thing I want my cup to do is ‘tumble”.
That’s actually where calling a cup a tumbler in the first place, because they were prone to tumble over and spill its content. As time went on (over a 400 year span or so), we realized certain shapes weren’t the greatest to expect to stand upright. It’s like anything, we like to bring old things back. In this case, it’s the name

That’s an issue. The lid functionality is a big deal for me. Personally, I put the most weight on the lid design because no matter how cold/hot the cup keeps the drink, if it can’t keep it in the cup, it’s not much good. Plus, who wants slapped drink all over their center console?
The lid does suck but I think the design wasn’t to look cool but unlike Yeti, so the lip seal doesn’t fall on the jobsite. Seems that they wanted something secure

Little tip, with any of these tumblers that have "locking" lids, open the lock before putting it on the cup so it seals

Works every time
This is like when they release a vacuum, and then they release a fuel vacuum, and then they release a packout fuel vacuum. Lol. But hey, it works.

Yeti
