M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Get Out’s Allison Williams), M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to.
When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House), Gemma’s unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems-a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.
Produced by Jason Blum and James Wan, M3GAN is directed by award-winning filmmaker Gerard Johnstone (Housebound), from a screenplay by Akela Cooper (Malignant, The Nun 2) based on a story by Akela Cooper and James Wan.

Sci-fi version of nature vs. nurture; the only problem is that both sides conflict with the goal: Being a girl’s friend and protecting her from sadness and loneliness, which are not possible all the time.

Why do I find this so sweet?! Having someone to protect you from any kind harm is... a really huge thing. Megan over did it, but she did it. She understood her assignment properly and like a good robot completed it. It's not her fault that many human things are not just black and white like her commands suggest.

The concept of making the doll a protector who takes her role too far, but is still so child-like that she enjoys it and wants to dance gives it an eerie element of fun. The doll’s ability to articulate herself at an adult level is startling all on its own, and her running on all fours 😳 with, “It’s nice to have a friend,” is perfect! I’m here for how lifelike the doll looks, talks and moves. Her hair is better laid than some real people outchea. 👀💁🏽♀️🤣🤣 Go ‘head M3GAN!

This is really something. Megan’s eyes, her movements, and her voice is what makes her creepy. The dancing is funny and random at the same time. The music is great. I love when artists’ music is used as horror music for trailers or even as a eerie song choice for a scene in a film.
Also, this film is in my Birthday Month. This will be a treat for me to see when it comes out in theaters.

This movie portrays the negligence of irl parents leaving their kids to the devices for support and the consequences of it. The message it is displaying is amazing.
This was a great horror thriller movie. I'd definitely watch it again. 👍

My main thing with creepy doll/toy movies is how unrealistic it is that a child would want that toy because of how creepy it is. If someone gave me a Megan I'd be terrified.

Just watched this movie today and I loved it!!
Megan seems like the type of humanoid robot who’d secretly camp out in the backyard of your home. Whatever happens, she will do what it takes to go undefeated. So far, it’s impressive how the actress portraying Megan in this embodies the character so well. Hopefully she gets to be further recognized in the realm of horror movies.
