Part of the problem I feel is that people have no concept of how long it takes to clear a camp vs how much money it gives. A t2 camp gives less than a full wave, and clearing a camp doesnt progress the game at all
I've been basically one tricking Paradox and this wall build has felt better to me than going the Improved Burst route. I'm not top MMR by any means, but I still think this wall build is superior
Mikales kinda points this out around 17:00, basically those early deaths really don't matter. Mikales team lost all their guardians before they could take down two of Abram's team's. They were even ahead in souls. His deaths weren't really punished because they were still able to push waves and early respond time.
21:42 I also think they should limit it in some capacity. Makes the game so hard on luck of the draw. Many characters can build damage if they don't have a big damage carry, but I can't just build stuns and fulfill the role dynamo has
Once you get the wall maxed out, it silenced anyone that walks through for 3 seconds, get slowed 80%, and it can help you avoid shots. Also you typically run superior cooldown on your 3 which also reduces all your CDs so the time you can place the next wall is super fast and can make it super hard for an enemy to actually kill you. Plus it’s really really good for kiting away from enemies because you can continuously place them in their way where they either have to go around the huge wall or take dmg, silence, and slow
@@_fitzyy It comes online so late tho. I feel like it's just a normal paradox build until min 25 when the wall build is online. Idk why Mikael didn't buy extra charge early so he could make the double wall earlier
Generally in Mobas at higher MMR you want to be buying all your items based on the situation. Countering other people's builds and covering weaknesses you have in that specific moment

"split pushing is a meme" nah the team is just stacking too far away lol. Besides, in the long run inting for walkers that many times is just gonna kill your farm so it's only a temporary advantage.
Eh, gotta remember this is the absolute highest ranked players in Europe. If that Abrams plays like that every game, CLEARLY it works. Sure, it didn't work this game, but it almost did and Abrams was against two of the best players in EU. I'm not saying it shouldn't work. I dunno, but clearly it isn't just a temporary advantage if Abrams managed to get to the top rank playing that way.
@@gregortheoverlander4122 I can see the perspective for sure, but I do think that inevitably it'll be solved through social/strategic changes. It's sorta like loads of sports and games have when a new strategy suddenly drops and upsets the balance of things. I don't think is necessarily a sign of a design problem, but just a sign that the metagame is still being developed by the players.
@@merthyr1831 Sure, I agree. I think if this continues to be viable at the highest ranks in a few months, we'll need to look at why and if that is actually what we want for the game. But right now? If it works great, lets see if it keeps working as players get wise to it.
