Chicago Greyhound bus station. If 2dy was my 1st time being here I wouldn't have had negative views about it. Every1 was nice & professional as well as helpful.
I went to the Greyhound bus station in Chicago Illinois in 2017 cuz it used to be on the interstate in Chicago Illinois but now is Downtown Chicago Illinois. I went there in 2017 I wanted to go last year but I hope I get to the gold this year.
What happens to other bus companies? Do they have to own their stations or there is a bus station where all the bus companies can centralize their operations?
Glad I stumbled upon this video because I needed to know what to expect when I arrive in Chicago on the 26th of March. My trip is to Nashville and I will be connecting at this terminal.

I am from Illinois and this is not consider downtown so people who are seeing this video this is not downtown Chicago this is in Chicago this Greyhound station and it's actually not on a good part of town in Chicago they do have a Greyhound station at the Amtrak station that is very beautiful
This is the main depot in Chicago which replaced the older one that closed down in the Loop in 1989. The Amtrak/Greyhound location is a satellite station.
Yes be careful.I almost got mugged & Even the luggage men trives to hit"on me.European veletable.Sometimes There Would be some partying at the bus(Better pick a front seat if you wanna sleep..The ride was ok though.This was back in Summer of 2010.

this place is much worse now, when I went last night I had to wait 5 hours for my boss I was supposed to be there at 11: 50 ended up being there at like 4: 30 in the morning, people were sleeping on the floor, the staff was rude and uncaring, terrible place.
The one I was at in Chicago back in 1980 had an escalator. I am not sure this was the one? It also had a Burger King. I dont recall a whole lot but the place was pretty scary and lots of homeless.
You're talking about the old depot that was inside the Loop. It was open 1953 or 1954 up until December 1989. The loading platform was underground with 30 slips. This one has 24 slips for buses, waaaaaaaaaay too many for the present volume of bus traffic.
You ride the Orange line from Midway to the Loop, and get off at Quincy station (next to Sears/Willis Tower) or to the Clark station and transfer to the Blue Line and take that to the Clinton station which is near the Greyhound.
You have to Google the very nice Greyhound station is at the Amtrak station. That is downtown on Union Station this is not downtown Chicago again this is in a different part of Chicago but not downtown
Even before the pandemic Chicago didn't need 24 slips for the volume of traffic through the depot, and in the pandemic it probably uses only up to about 7 or 8. I predict another downsize in Chicago's future.
This looks like a nice bus station. Sort of reminds me of a mini airport. Thanks for posting. I have been trying to get an idea of what the Chicago bus station looks like.
Please do not go to the station and it is a nightmare. If you go to one go to the one at the Amtrak station Union Station that is a very nice station is not ghetto and correct like this one is
