    Couple things immediately. Been travelling to K'gari for 40 years, and I NEVER go below 20psi, and probably higher wouldve done if it rained the night before. (If youre going to Sandy Cape Lighthouse, Ngahla Rocks deserves 15 or 16psi, but thats literally the only time.) Even in the Patrols. Eurong Bakery have stopped making their own pies, sadly. They used to 10 times better.
    There is a permanently manned police station at Eurong now, so the Police live and work on the island. There's no "just popping over for a bit" They can and will stop you for RBTs or speed traps at any time.

      @timbates4wdadventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Peter,
      I appreciate your feed back and experience mate.
      But, theres no way i would be doing and sand driving 20psi and above.
      My standard tyre pressures in the Victorian High Country are 20 and 18.
      I have found with all of the sand driving trips i have done, 18 and 16psi work very well and never have an issue.
      Shame about the bakery, they are pretty good all the same.
      Thanks heaps agin for your feed back mate.
      Cheers Tim.

    • @petermiddo
      @petermiddo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm comfortable with that, because you're very clear about being careful about making tighter turns. Again, in all my experience, I;ve never had to go that low unless I go to Sandy Cape (as I said) and my father - who taught me everything I know and was a key starter of the driver training programs in the 80's - never goes below 25psi. (One thing we do teach is seek advice from a local expert. It'd be like me telling you how to run the High Country.)

      Gday mate,
      The tyres are let down so they don't bog down in the sand. Allows the tyre to sit on top of the sand rather then dig in if still on full road pressures. If you would like to watch my last short video, I go into a lot more details about tyre pressures on the beach.
      I film and edit my videos myself, great fun.
