Saving Two Mazda Cosmos - Pt4 Making More Panels & Sitting The 13B In

- Two days progress making some more panels for Bardan's Mazda Cosmo. Nearly have one whole side roughed out now, it almost looks like a car again.
Not much to update for mine as I have been busy working on cars that I don't post online but I have made a custom sump for the 13B and sat it in the bay of my Cosmo. Also have the steering mocked up with a column, and the shaft and rack tacked in place ready to add tie rods. Hopefully picking up a gearbox this weekend so I can mount the motor and move forward. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
The Cosmo whisperer
You’re an artist mate, love following this build. Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate
Awesome man, the Cosmo 💫has some very tricky panels and you have come out tops. Once the outer panels are done, then the inner ones will be easy. Take your time, don't cut corners and make it your special project. There are only a handfull of these cars left in the world🌍 now.
Far out you do good work! Imagine where you'll be in 10 years time 🤙
Thanks mate. Yep still early days for me ,hopefully doing much nicer work by then.
Really enjoying these videos, love your attitude. Thanks for saving these wonderful cars.
Glad you like them!
You’re a magician mate. I say that as a panelbeater. Coming together nicely
Thanks mate, just a self taught monkey
Beautiful work. Would love to see more in-depth vids.
Thanks mate I don't want to make them too boring , I cut them down so much already, will add some time lapses of welding and shaping and stuff for the next.
@@notevn This stuff isn't boring at all. They taught us a little bit of metalwork in school but not enough to actually mean anything in the modern bodyshop. Your videos show a lot of what I'd like to learn/do eventually.
You are a genius mate I spent decades in the trade and your skills are amazing .
Thanks mate
Awesome work - don't talk down your achievements as you are an artist. Cant wait to see the finished product.
Thanks mate, still learning and far from where I'd like to be in terms of quality.
Glad your saving them both
Yeses!! I've been waiting in anticipation 🤣
Just art aye. Incredible talent
A joy to watch
Dude you're body work is incredible!
awesome work bud, next level skills. that fuel flap turned out mint as, pretty tricky hinges to make.
Epic work mate
Amazing work. Glad to find the channel 😅
Fantastic work, can’t wait to see more
legendary work m8
killing it nath ,,,really enjoying the build and watching you throw yourself in the deep end,,,,AS ALWAYS LOL
Thanks mate, Only way to learn
Looks like pretty much the same procedures Fitzee's Fabrications uses in his videos. Using simple tools to make replacement parts and to simplify complex curves.
Awesome work Nathan. You doing well.
Your skills just blow my mind mate fair play
Brilliant 👏👏🤓
Love the vids bro big fan!!!
Thanks man
Thanks for posting. I struggle with which rotary I think is the best design either the fd or the cosmo, both outstanding. Enjoying seeing this build, the technique is fascinating. 😊
Yorkshire Car Restoration TH-cam channel have just released a video on their Cosmo, looks to be in the same condition.
Oh yea, looks to be a series 2 (longer behind the doors) and complete as haha
Great work once again mate
Your on point real good work too 💯🙂👍🙏
Awesome work
awesome!
great video! it's amazing seeing it all come together.
Very nice
legendary
I hope you'll get a time-lapse camera. I feel like I'm missing the best bits watching this. I never see you do the actual panel beating.
I will try to setup the go-pro for next video and add some more time lapses like last time.
@@notevn thanks. But I will watch your videos regardless. Keep up the good work!
Amazing work 😊
you could use a RX8 oil pick up
its flat
Oh cool I'll look into it.
hey Nathan your videos are so good to watch and dream, I have been slowly working towards doing similar with all the old datsuns I own, as a heavy fab engineer I know welding sheet is hard, and the amount of hours it takes in that metallic environment, so I want to thank you for sharing.
I have a question
what made you follow a path of coach building?
and how did you get the skills you allready have?
cheers
Fantastic work mate. As a non panel guy, what are those bullet things that seem to be holding the panels on? Are they magnetic or attach through the panel?
They are cleco fasteners, basically a removable rivet for holding the panels together
Are called clecos , They stemed from aviation I think, they are a little quick release clamp that holds panels together with a little pin that spreads out once you release the pliers on them, useful for fitting panels on and off without the burr or damage a screw causes each time you fit it, I need to order more as I start using screws when I've used up all the clecos.
Beautiful! I'd love to know how many hours each panels takes you.
Thanks mate , only a few hours to get to this roughed out stage, adding details, removing imperfections and fitting them to the car are where the hours are. Where you can spend a whole day but the panel looks the same to anyone else walking past haha.
Hey mate I have a NOS front Turn Signal Lens for one of these if it might be something you need to get one over the line let me know
and i thought i was stupid.
