Love 'You've Got Everything Now' - went to see a Smiths tribute band the other night and they never played it...found myself singing it going up the road. Part of their history. This is the best version right here...the audience on stage at the end of the gig...priceless stuff.
lol that was a mess how was moz able to keep his composure? but damn this was in 83' the smiths had barely been together a year and had such dedicated fans doing this to them? iconic
Shana - I was one of those 'idiots' on the stage, but it was all good-humoured back then! 😅 Not so much a dedicated fan base, rather a Derby crowd who loved there music and just wanted to get on the stage, dance, and be on TV with the band as there were no iPhones or TH-cam then! 🙂👍
I would have gotten so angry? Dancing on stage? Sure! But don't stop the singer from singing?! Isn't that literally what you came to the concert for, the songs? How some people tried to rip the mic from his hands just HURT my HEART Morrisey was so precious and they were just turning the stage into a moshpit with him in the middle of it.
I will sadly never experience a band like this or a gig like this in my life time. The smiths are, and will be remembered, unlike the whole of today's music.
I have this whole video on tape. Great ending but it wasn't that uncommon in those days for gigs to end like this. The Specials, Gang of Four, Madness all ended up in mayhem! Rarely any trouble though. Word of advice, don't invade the stage when the Fall are playing you are likely to lose your head!
Somebody is always going to take things too far. They couldn't just go up there, dance around a little, maybe pat Morrissey on the back once or twice, then get off the f-cking stage and let the man sing.
More gigs need to be like this..closest i've seen like this is Moz in National Stadium in Dublin in 91, his 1st gig in 3 years..pure adulation & pure chaos
And to think the twat walked off stage when we were at Liverpool because he got an itty bitty bit of water on him....still my favourite band in my 51 years on this earth though!
I seriously would have flipped my shit if those people were coming up and grabbing me and pushing me. No doubt morrissey was annoyed with the fact that they just threy a flower at his eye and now they are coming up and groping and pushing.
2:02. the roadie looks so pissed off! he's given up. Lucky the stage didnt collapse with so many ppl on there jumping around! For all the musos out there, did you notice that they wrapped up the song conderably sooner. Andy plays the coda much sooner then he should, then Jonny switches to it half way through the bar. although its quite seamless. Shows how good they were musically.
Thanks for the information. I'm not familiar with this song in particular. If Andy and Johnny ended the song sooner that makes sense. This band was thick as thieves back then. Johnny said that the band members would stand up for one another. A show is a show, but this got wildly out of control.
All that chaos yet Johnny Marr and Andy Rourke didn't miss a single note.
greyfox4577 that’s why this is the best fucking band ever
Mike Joyce is keeping it all together
they are pro
LOL I would have been all over Johnny F*ckin' Marr! :D
Nor Moz a single syllable
The crowds too rough and Morrissey's too delicate ;)
Nice.
2:02 me at parties
Dude's just vibing, enjoying Mike Joyce's drums.
Fr
ahahahah jokes
😅
😂
"i just want to be seen" *literally dissapears*
1:18 I can't stop watching that part hahaha
I could watch this a hundred times (and probably have) and still find it hilarious. This is one of the best gigs ever recorded for sure.

The stage invasion makes the performance and song yet more epic! :)
Так и хочется крикнуть "Ребята, дайти ему спеть!"....очень круто!

1:33 hear that scream? we could’ve had a metal band-shoplifters already has a riff that fits!
Morrissey's vocal range is already perfect for metal too

Wow who would have ever thunk all there years later this video would be a visual representation TEACHING me what I was just talking about.
maravilloso.. final!:. : )
Que buen video!! Hermoso!! El tema es el ideal para terminar el recital..
Brilliant!
Now I understand why he sometimes isn't too pleased when someone enters the stage today...
fucking excellent!
What I would do to be at this gig :(
Thank you for posting this lapislazuli42
Somebody is always going to take things too far. They couldn't just go up there, dance around a little, maybe pat Morrissey on the back once or twice, then get off the f-cking stage and let the man sing.
That’s some dedicated fanbase right there...
Just everything
¡¡¡LET HIM SING!!!
Chaotic final...

Moz got pretty beat up in this gig
What a terrible mess he's made of his life.
Lol just before 2:36 some guy pushes someone else who is tryinf to come on stage! You can here a thump as hey hits the floor :P. Awesome gig!!!!!
Enter Sandman!!! Incredible !
What the hell do they do to Morrissey starting at 2:09? Rip open his shirt?

@joseg1022 Really? What was an American kid doing in Derby in 1983? According to the age you've posted, you would've been 4 years old...hmmmm :)

Bro, Id be so pissed if shit tons of people started rushing the stage as I was trying sing the damn song. Now I see why Morrissey hates his fans. lol
